Overestimating the seven year old body of hers, Odette did not avoid the attack, and the impact of her mother’s push caused her to land on top of the broken cup.

The shards pierced through her skin, and the sharp pain permeated through her as Odette raised her head to look at her mother. Currently, she was too weak.

Staring at her mother, Odette felt no type of anger within her. This was normal. Since she was the weak one, she was the one who deserved to be pushed around, and if she wanted to be superior one, she had to get stronger.

There was no use in getting angry regarding such foolish matters.

Maybe the true seven year old her cried and despaired about this. But that was not how her current self felt; right now, Odette felt nothing towards it.

Seeing the expression in her daughter’s eyes surprised Valentina. Although Odette was unlike the other seven year olds, her gaze was too odd.

“Why are you staring at me that way!? Look down, You Impudent Brat! You will be locked away as your punishment, and no food will be provided to you! I already spared you last time! How dare you lose to that whore’s son?”

There was a certain limit up to which Odette could endure from her mother until the amount that doesn’t disrupts the plans she has.

“Mother, I am afraid I can not obey you on this. Father will be taking me to the palace tomorrow, and if you create more injuries, it will not be possible for me to train. You know how father would feel about that, right, Mother?” Odette vocalised her lips curving to form a wide smile.

Even though Valentina wanted to ease her anger by punishing the girl before her and teach her a lesson, she was not able to argue against her mouth.

A sudden psychological pressure hit her at the sight of that smile, and her eyes surrounded by the red blood intensified that. A chill went down by her back. If it was not for her appearance, there was no way Valentina would take the girl to be a seven year old

Although both of her palms were bleeding, coupled with the other injuries on her body, there were no signs of pain on her face. Moreover, it appeared that she was enjoying the situation.

Even though Valentina found it being frightening, she did not exactly hate it. This was very close to the aura Damian had around him, and seeing that, the grievances within her was slowly being driven away.

“I will let go of you this time around, but next time, such a failure would not be excused. After returning from the palace, increase your training by three hours more.”

“Understood, Mother.”

Odette’s eyes stared at the snacks and cup of tea placed before her. Although they were placed there for her, she was incapable of eating them on her own.

Both of her hands were bandaged due to the wounds along with her forehead. Although there were slight scratches on her arms, Odette did not bother with covering them up.

Now, that she thought back to it, she found the injuries being quite troublesome. She should have avoided getting pushed back then. Since that had already happened, Odette decided to brush the thought away from her mind.

The door to her room opened, and a boy walked into the room. Hearing the footsteps, Odette raised her head slightly and smiled at the small boy standing before her.

Dennis eyes showed nervousness and fear in them while he stared down at the ground, and she could see that he already guessed reason why he was called at here.

“I knew that I was not wrong to choose you,” Odette voiced out her tone displaying confidence.

Her words caused surprise to appear in Dennis’ eyes, and parting his lips slightly, he raised his head to look at Odette. After seeing the smile she flashed at her, he immediately looked down at the ground.

“I don’t deserve your praise, Lady Odette,” Dennis stated.

A bright sparkle appeared in his eyes, and his countenance displayed how happy and proud he was at that instant.

“I have heard on how you were the one who ordered for Adrian to be imprisoned, and I am really impressed by that. You are young yet you know how to deal with your enemies.

Tell me about it. How did it feel to do that? You do know how Adrian would have died if I had not intervened. So, how does it feel like to nearly kill someone?”

All of a sudden, Dennis found Odette’s gaze being intimidating, and the amusement in her eyes caused him to shudder. Although she wore a grin on her face, there was something about her which was frightening at that moment.

Hearing that he was almost about to kill Adrian gave rise to fear within Dennis. Dennis merely wanted to get rid of Adrian from here, but he never wished for the boy to die.

Guilt rose within him at the thought of that, and bile began to form at his throat. A sudden desire to throw up stirred up inside of it, and he felt light headed.

He was almost about to take someone’s life, and Dennis did not understand how to cope with this. This was too scary! He was terrified about the person he was becoming. This was truly disgusting!

Odette let out a giggle and said, “You don’t need to be that afraid about it. This is normal. If you want to stay by my side, you will have to kill many more whether or not it is fair, Dennis. I don’t need a coward, so don’t get scared in front of me again. That’s quite irritating.”
