Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 36
Odette’s blade pierced through the ground while she raised her hand to wipe off the glistening sweat from her forehead. Her line of sight fell on the boy, who stood before her.
“State your business,” Odette ordered.
Holding on to the hilt of the blade tightly, she supported her body with it slightly for she was starting to feel exhausted after the vigorous practicing.
“Lady Odette, I have heard on how you’re giving special lessons to Adrian. Isn’t that unfair? Why are you doing that?” Dennis voiced out unable to control in his emotions.
When Adrian had left the room yesterday with the chocolate staining the corner of his lips, Odette had expected for this happen.
A chuckle escaped from Odette’s mouth as she ran her finger through her hair, driving them off of her face, and she said, “Brave, aren’t you for questioning my orders?”
Amusement showed in Odette’s eyes, causing Dennis to break out into cold sweat, and the pressurizing situation made him grow aware of the mistake he did.
Due to his jealousy, he had lost control over his emotions and created a mistake that is considered grave at this house. Knowing about Odette’s low tolerance, Dennis fell on to his knees instantly.
His pale face and widened eyes reflected his fear while he spoke out, “I apologise. I am sincerely sorry for my mistake, Lady Odette. Hopefully, you can be kind enough to look past it.”
“I am not fond of people questioning me,” Odette said, letting go of her sword causing it to fall on the ground and seeing how Dennis’ face turned more ashen at her words, she added, “But since this is your first time and I like you, I am willing to be lenient with you.”
Dennis did not understand Odette’s meaning of lenient. Nonetheless, he was grateful. At least it was lessened compared to before.
“Your payment for this month will be taken away,” Odette spoke out a grin forming on her face.
Although Adrian and Dennis were her personal servants, they were to be given certain amount of money each month to spend it on themselves an amount that would not be making any difference at the treasury of Albinius house.
This rule was established by Odette for her personal servants, and she was aware that few of her siblings maintained this rule as well.
Even though she had no idea on her siblings intention for implementing this, Odette did it for the sake of her future plans.
Although it was regretful that he will be losing his pay for this month, Dennis repeated within his mind that it could have been worse, and other than that, he still had the money he had gotten as reward from Odette.
“Yes, Lady Odette. Thank you for your kindness. Such actions will not be repeated by me in the future,” he voiced out, standing up from his position.
Odette made her way to the boy, and nervousness formed within Dennis at that. Thoughts on what Odette could possibly do ran through his mind, and after what happened earlier, he found himself being on guard.
“As I have said before, I will value the one who is better,” Odette said, “Now, if you had gotten your answer, leave. I don’t like anyone who disturbs me during my training. You have done so many offenses today, but I am going easy on you. Remember that there is no next time.”
Even without having Odette to explain it, Dennis understood the meaning behind her words. In the recent training, Adrian had been producing better results, and it would not be hard for the boy to overtake him soon at this rate.
As Dennis clenched his hand into a tight fist, he was determined to prevent Adrian from getting Odette’s favour.
