Odette’s eyes fell on the five year old boy. Adrian kneeled down beside the rose garden, and his hand gripped around the stem of the red rose, being careful that he doesn’t get pricked by the thorns.

Seeing his downcast eyes, Odette could guess that the five year old was sulking, and arching her eyebrows at that, she made her way towards Adrian.

“What are you so sad for?” Odette questioned.

Hearing her voice, Adrian raised his head to look at her, and his eyes widened due to surprise as he saw her here. However, without saying anything, he ignored her presence and continued to observe the red rose.

Being ignored was something that managed to anger Odette although whether or not she was the centre of attention did not particularly matter to her. But when it came from Adrian, Odette found the younger boy endearing, and it fuelled up her desire to tease the boy further.

“How long are you going to be angry with me?” Odette questioned.

“You are really”

Before Adrian could continue further, he recalled that he was giving Odette the silent treatment, and at his mistake, he bit his tongue slightly before facing forward.

“Oh well! I brought some chocolates for you, but since you appear to be angry, I suppose I can have them on my own,” Odette spoke out.

Odette noticed how the boy tensed up at the mention of chocolate, and from his expression, she could judge that he was deeply contemplating on the matter.

After one last glance at the five year old, she turned her back on him and started to walk away slowly. The sound of her footsteps caused the five year old boy to raise his head.

“Wait, Lady Odette,” Adrian called blush coating his cheeks before adding, “I am not angry at you. I want the chocolates.”

A chuckle escaped from Odette’s mouth at that, and turning to face him, she curved the corner of her lips to form a wide smile.

“I am kidding,” Odette stated, “There are no chocolates with me right now.”

Upon hearing her words, the little boy found himself being wronged, and he puffed up his cheeks while his blue eyes glared at her. Odette took a couple of steps forward towards him.

“You are mean, Lady Odette. This”

The sweet taste of the chocolate in Adrian’s mouth made him unable to continue further, and staring at Odette with widened eyes, he chewed on the food inside his mouth. As the chocolate melted in his mouth, it appeased his taste buds, causing for a wide smile to appear upon his face.

“You are really cute; I was just teasing you,” Odette said.

“You are really the best, Lady Odette! I love you,” he expressed.

“Are you that easy to please? Weren’t you saying that I am mean earlier?” Odette raised one of her eyebrows.

“You are still a mean lady; you are not telling me who attacked me,” Adrian spoke out pout forming upon his face again.

Before Odette was able to control herself, she found herself patting the five year old on top of his head and said, “You must have been really scared. Don’t worry! I will keep you protected.”

Only after those words had left her mouth did Odette regret it. It was not difficult for her to notice the emotions she leaked out in those words, and raising her hand, she placed her palm before her mouth.

Stumbling backwards, she turned her back on Adrian and ran away from there, leaving the little boy confused.
