Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 44
Staring at the boy who watched her with worried eyes, Odette was at a loss of words. It was not as if her mind was blank. In fact, there were many questions in her mind. However, she was not able to choose which was appropriate enough.
If she was not faced with Adrian, she would have found the situation funny. When it came to him, these days, Odette managed to surprise herself to the point she was finding it more frightening than fun.
Maybe she should let go of him before things became dangerous for her. But the thread of reluctance was holding her back. A voice in the back of her head constantly reminded her of how she will be regretting by letting him go.
Seeing how Odette remained silent, Adrian stated, “What’s the matter, Lady Odette? Are you still in pain? Should I call the doctor? Last time, when I was in pain, he took it away from me.”
Odette Albinius shook her head and spoke out, “I believe you are warned against coming into my room. So, why did you do such a thing?”
“Oh yeah! Annie mentioned to me to me about staying outside of your room. She said how you are a monster, and when you are crying like that, you become scary. Annie was just being silly! How can you be scary?
It really pained me yesterday when I heard you cry, and I was worried. Everytime I was in pain, I used to cry like that, and my mom used to hug me. But no one hugged you yesterday. That’s why, I wanted to be beside you the entire night, Lady Odette,” Adrian explained.
Seeing how innocent and oblivious Adrian was, a chuckle escaped from her mouth, and she questioned, “Are you feeling pity for me?”
“Pity? What’s that?” he questioned, tilting his head slightly. Confusion was visible in his eyes.
Odette sighed and mumbled, “You are starting to bring me some horrible memories, Adrian. I might end up hating you at this rate.”
“What did you say, Lady Odette?” the boy asked before adding, “I did not exactly catch that.”
“It’s just that you talk way too much these days,” Odette said.
“That’s because I like talking to Lady Odette. Dennis doesn’t talk to me much. No matter what I do, he always scolds me. He is a meanie, and Annie is always busy,” Adrian stated.
After that, a yawn left his mouth, and tears gathered at the corner of his eyes. From his red eyes, Odette could see the lack of sleep in him, and even though she was not the one to care for that normally, she could not do the same when it came to Adrian surprisingly.
“You can leave now, Adrian,” Odette said, “After breakfast, you can take the morning off, and go to sleep. The activities from last night must have made you tired. One more thing, don’t do such unnecessary things anymore. It’s troublesome.”
“You are being mean again, Lady Odette,” Adrian stubbornly stated, “But regardless of what you say, I will come to see you again and stay beside you. I can’t leave you in pain! That’s bad!”
