Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 45
The payment day was one of the happy occasions for the servants working in the Albinius manor. Compared to the other houses, the ducal households of Albinius paid there workers more, and this was probably one of the reasons people came to work at here.
Seeing how joyful everyone was on their payday caused Dennis to grit his teeth tightly. Due to his previous misconduct, he would not be receiving money for this month, and the thought of that made him aggravated.
Although he was rewarded with coins for his task previously, he still was not satisfied. As he bit his nail due to frustration, his eyes fell on Adrian, and a wicked idea came inside of his mind.
The five year old boy sat on the bed, and while there was a sparkle visible in his eyes as he counted the coins he had received. Although it was not much, it managed to bring happiness to the five year old, who got his payment for the first time.
Dennis’ eyes showed envy in them while they stared at the coins in Adrian’s hand and thoughts of how they should have been his went around his mind.
The corner of his lips curved up slightly to form a smile, and despite that, he was unable to hide the rage from his eyes as he approached the oblivious five year old.
“Adrian,” Dennis spoke out.
Hearing the voice of the older boy, Adrian rose his head and stared at the older boy with curiosity in his eyes. Seeing the smile on his face felt strange to Adrian for this did not happen regularly. Nonetheless, since Dennis was smiling, it must be something good at least that’s what Adrian believed in that instant.
“What’s the matter, Dennis?” Adrian questioned.
The smile on Dennis’ face became more evident while he spoke out, “Oh! Adrian, earlier the head maid was calling for you. Apparently she wanted you to do something for her. You should hurry up since she gets quite horrible when someone is late.”
Upon hearing those words, Adrian stood up from the bed immediately and stated, “Is that so? Where is she? I will head over to her place right now.”
“At the kitchen. That’s where I saw her last,” Dennis replied.
Adrian nodded, and placing the coins in the small bag in his hand, he clutched on to it tightly while he walked towards the door.
Before he was able to leave, Dennis took a couple of steps forward and spoke out, “Stop!”
Hearing that, Adrian turned his head back, and raising one of his eyebrows, he stared at Dennis, waiting for the older boy to continue.
“About that money, it will be better for you to leave it here before going. I mean, you are not careful enough, so what if you lose it?” Dennis voiced out, “I will take care of it until you return!”
Staring at the small bag in his head, Adrian thought about Dennis’ words, and finding them to be right, he nodded his head.
Extending his hand towards Dennis, he said, “You are right, Dennis! I might lose them. Here.”
As Dennis gladly took the bag from him, Adrian missed the malicious grin that appeared on Dennis’ face.
