Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 47
When Odette walked through the hallway, dressed in her clothing for training, she did not expect to see a five year old sitting at one of the corner, crouched down. The boy hugged on to his knees while his body seemed to be slightly trembling.
Without having to ask him about the situation, she had a guess on what could have happened. After all, she was the one who pulled the strings behind the scenes. If she had not punished Dennis by taking his pay for this month, this would not have occured in the first place.
For a second, she thought about abandoning the boy at here and go for her training, which she considered to be her priority. However, as if her legs were tied to a huge boulder, she was unable to take a step forward.
Maybe how she desired to watch his face right now was the reason behind how she was unable to step forward and ignore the boy.
Taking in a deep breath, she decided to give into this emotion that was too strong for her to brush away in the first place and approached the boy.
Standing before him, she questioned, “What’s wrong?”
Raising his head, Adrian looked up, knowing that it was Odette from her voice. The boy’s cheeks were flushed, and tears fell down both of his eyes. At this point, his eyes were starting to get swollen due to how much tears he had shed.
“Lady Odette,” he enunciated while he protruded his bottom lips forward.
Seeing him in such a state caused a sharp squeeze to go through her chest. That feeling was not foreign to her. Nonetheless, she found it distasteful.
Wiping away the tears from his eyes, Adrian stood up while trying his hardest to maintain his balance which proved to be difficult due to how long he was crouched down.
“Lady Odette, Dennis took away my money,” he said, “I gave him the money to take care of it, but now that I am asking him for it, he says that he did not touch my money. That’s not true. I really have my money. Why is Dennis doing this?”
It was not difficult for Odette to see how shaken up the boy was from this incident. Once again, she had gotten the urge to stop all the plans that she had. Although Odette always knew she was cruel, this was the first time she felt that this was too cruel for her to carry out.
However, she drove those conflicting thoughts the moment they entered into her mind. She was not that inexperienced to get swayed by some momentary emotions.
After waiting for a while, she was confident on the fact that they will be disappearing. It had happened before after all.
“Stop crying,” she said, “I will take you to somewhere fun, so don’t cry, Adrian.”
She nodded and spoke out, “But you really need to keep it a secret this around, or else you will be in serious trouble.”
“Somewhere fun?” he questioned.
