Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 60
Worry clouded the boy’s eyes while he ran through the hallway. Sweat dripped down his forehead, and his hair was at a dishevelled state. A maid was present at the middle of the hallway, sweeping the hallway clean.
Going over to the maid, Adrian frantically spoke out, “Annie, did you see where White is? He was beside me when I slept, but then, I wake up to find out that he is no longer with me.”
“About White, I did not see him, Adrian, but I did hear him at the hallway in front of the store room,” Annie stated, “He is probably around somewhere at there.”
“Thank you, Annie!” Adrian exclaimed before running towards the mentioned direction. Deep inside of him, he hoped of finding the small kitten.
Once Adrian was before the storeroom, he looked around for the signs of the cat. The window in front of the storeroom was open, letting the chilly breeze from outside to flow in.
Seeing no signs of the kitten was starting to make the boy disheartened. That’s when, a leaf blew outside from the window, and the purr of a cat accompanied it.
Hearing that familiar sound caused a wide smile to form upon Adrian’s face, and he exclaimed, “White!”
Another purr was let out, and following the direction of that noise, Adrian turned to face back. Looking at open window and at the hallway beside it, Adrian was confused when he was unable to spot the kitten.
Raising his line of sight a little, his eyes widened when he saw the kitten on the tree branch. Hurriedly, Adrian ran towards the window sill, and looking up at White, he let out a wide smile.
“Ah! There you were, White! I was looking the entire place over for you! You naughty kitten, why did you run off on your own?” Adrian vocalised, “Now get down from there.”
Adrian extended both of his hand towards the kitten, expecting it to jump towards him from that tree branch. But seeing how the kitten was barely moving from this position, a realization hit Adrian.
“Ah! You are unable to get off of that tree branch?” he questioned before adding, “Do you want me to get you from there? Don’t worry! You can count on me! I will be rescuing you.”
Noticing the small distance between window sill and the tree branch, Adrian was confident that he will be able to cross over the gap. Taking in a deep breath, he mustered up all of his courage at the thought of the kitten being scared.
Grabbing on to the window beside it, Adrian sat on the window sill carefully, and once he was able to balance himself, he extended his hand forward to grab on to the branch. Holding on to the branch, he placed his knee about it, and cautiously, he sat on top of branch.
Once he had managed to successfully accomplish that, a wide grin formed on his face, but that was soon wiped off when he looked down. Seeing how high up in the sky he was, a fear began to brew within him.
