Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 63
Waking up to find the male beside her had become a norm for Odette by now. Each time, she was poisoned and screamed in pain, Adrian was beside her despite of how much she rejected him in the beginning.
At this point, she had gotten used to him holding her hand and comforting her through the entire time. He tried to ask her the reason behind it, but she remained silent about it.
There was once he questioned whether or not she was being poisoned by her mother, but then, without her saying anything, he brushed it aside, saying how improbable it was for a mother to do that.
Wanting that naivety of his to last a little longer, Odette did not bother with clearing that up.
“Are you feeling alright, Lady Odette?” he questioned.
Odette nodded her head.
The dosage of the poison this time around wasn’t that strong, and that’s why, she didn’t spat out any blood. The sheets were soaked in her sweat, and a slight headache went through her. Other than that, she found herself being fine.
That made her wonder about one thing.
Was this the time period of her life that she had started to get numb to the pain? Although it had taken her a quite an amount of time to get completely numb, it probably began from now on.
Didn’t that mean that she should feel as much as physical pain as possible right now before it became a foreign feeling to her?
In her last life, she craved to feel physical pain desperately at times, but that was impossible for her.
“Last night, even White was worried about you. That’s why, I brought him with me,” he spoke out, “See, White is such a good cat. Even though you don’t like him, he still cares for him.”
Odette’s eyes fell on the kitten in the boy’s hand, which were staring at her. Subconsciously, she found her hand being drawn towards the small animal and petted the top of his head softly. Since she always saw Adrian doing it, she wanted to do the gesture.
Letting out a chuckle, she asked, “Weren’t you mad at him the other day for abandoning and called him a mean cat?”
Adrian’s eyes widened at that, and a gasp escaped from his mouth before saying, “Ah! I almost forgot about it. But now that I think about it, it’s fine. After all, he got you to save me from there.”
“Adrian, about White leaving your room and getting on to that tree, things aren’t that simple,” she vocalised, “There is someone who purposely doing that.”
Shock was clearly visible on his words after he heard those words from her, and confusion then showed on his face before he questioned, “Why would someone be doing that to White?”
“Are you forgetting something, Adrian? You are still playing a game, and in order to win that game, you can’t allow White to die. If White dies, there is only person who will be benefitting from this.”
