Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 64
Those loud cries were something Odette would recognize easily without a doubt. Hearing those cries from Adrian made her wonder about what the reason was.
Walking through the hallway, her eyes fell on the small boy that sat at the corner, hugging a small figure. His body trembled while his bottom lip quivered. Tears streamed down his eyes as those eyes of his displayed the pain clearly.
Surprisingly, Odette did not find herself being pleased after hearing those pained cries. Instead of that, this gave her chest a squeeze.
Before she was able to think of her current set of emotions, she found herself making way towards the boy, and with her eyes holding a little tint of worry something she was quite unaware of she bend down a little.
“What’s the matter?” she questioned.
That’s when, Odette noticed the motionless White, and seeing how it did not seem to be sleeping, Odette guessed what could have happened.
“White, he will never be waking up again. The doctor says that White is dead. That can’t be possible, right? White can’t be dying that easily!” Adrian vocalised.
The desperation in his voice did not go unnoticed by Odette, and all of a sudden, Odette found herself falling into silence.
A tinge of regret went through her for pulling such a scheme. No, it wasn’t for doing such a thing or having the cat dead; it was because of how badly the boy was crying.
Never did she expect for the boy’s tears to influence her this much.
Subconsciously, she found herself extending her hand towards the crying boy and gently, wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Maybe if she had known that this would make him this much hurt, she wouldn’t have done this in the first place. Probably it was better for him to stay pure and unaware of the pain.
Finding those thoughts of hers to be absurd, she brushed them away. Just because of little tears from Adrian, she could not let herself fall weak and ruin her meticulous plan. Once he became tainted, she would be able to get rid of all these emotions.
Instantly, she moved her hand away from the young boy and coldly said, “He is dead. Nothing can be done. Now, stop crying.”
Those words left a bitter aftertaste in her mouth, but after how much she was conflicting within her, Odette was unable to stabilize her emotions.
Turning her back on him, she was about to walk away from him. As long as she was away from him right now, she needn’t waste her time, thinking about useless matters.
But before she was able to take a step forward, she felt something grab on to the skirt of the dress and tug at it. Looking back, she found the five year old staring at her with pleading eyes.
Thinking about to it, this was one of the things she would be regretting the most; she shouldn’t have faced him in that instant because those eyes of his were not something she would be able to resist.
“Lady Odette, please stay with me.”
