Second Life: Welcome to Gaia - Chapter 56: Captain Antonio
After distributing the loot, they walked through the wharf to get to the pirate ship. They look around to see if there is any hidden place on the cave walls but found nothing.
From far away, people only can see a giant rock on the water and no one would though that there is a giant cave inside. The cave is very big with a wide opening from where the pirate ship entered.
The sunlight entered through the cave entrance, lightning the entire place. And there are torches tied on the wharf to illuminate the cave at night.
This isle, like many others in the game, was created by a volcanic eruption. This is one of the few differences between the geographic space in the real world and Gaia.
As there is more water than land on the surface of the globe, many islands appeared to increase the proportion of dry land. In this way, players will have more places to explore without the need to swim and there will be more places on the sea for the ships to dock.
In Gaia, the movement of tectonic plates occurs more than one thousand times faster than on Earth, increasing the volcanic activity, and making the geographic landscape be in constant transformation, with mountains and islands appearing and natural disasters happening. This, plus the players’ impact on Gaia, makes the virtual world be in a process of constant changes.
When Ye Yan and his teammates reached the ship, they looked around but found no pirates on the deck, thus they explored the place a little before entering the ship’s cabins.
As they explore the ship, they meet more pirates working on some cabins and downstairs, but they killed them fast and didn’t attract too much attention.
On the storage of the pirate ship, they found a pirate cleaning some blood on the floor while complaining about the injustice of him having to clean everything alone. The pirate was so absorbed by his thoughts, that he only noticed their presence when I Love Skooma’s dagger stuck his back and he cried out in fright and fear.
“Sometimes this game is too realistic!” I Love Skooma complained while fanning his face with his hands. “This pirate’s bad breath is so bad that it looks like he swallowed sewage.”
“With the number of rotten teeth he has in his mouth, it is not surprising.” Demon Fox commented.
“Who told you to stay so close to him.” Snow White said to her brother, which earned a complaining gaze from him.
Everyone smiled seeing the exchange of the two. Dovakin, Mad Dog and I Love Skooma always spoil their sister and when she scold them for anything, they feel extremely aggrieved.
At least, Snow White is a sensible girl and never troubles others, or with the way her brothers act in relation to her, she could hurt many people.
After they explored the entire ship, they went to the captain’s cabin. This room was locked before, so they left it for later.
Now, when they tried to open the door, it worked and the door opened but what they saw inside wasn’t what they expected to find.
The captain of the pirate ship was a tall and muscular man with a short black beard and stylish mustache. His appearance matches the image of pirate they have in their minds but what he was wearing is far away from what they imagine seeing on a pirate captain, or any pirate.
The robust man was wearing a dress and a pink one at that. Not only that, when they entered, they saw the pirate captain dancing shaking his hips in My Girl’s style.
“Who are you? And how dare you enter the captain’s cabin, my cabin, like that?” The pirate captain yelled at them while making a heroic posture that would really make him look impressive if he was not using a pink dress knee-length, showing his hairy legs.
Ye Yan and his teammates couldn’t speak after the visual impact of the scene they had seen. They are used to My Girl antics, but this is the first time they saw an NPC like that, and a boss at that.
They were awestruck and took a few seconds to recover to their normal state. Luckily, the boss didn’t attack right away but observe them first.
The captain scrutinized every one of them until his eyes focused on My Girl. The moment the boss saw him, the boss blushed. He blushed! At the same time, the players heard a system notification.
System: [span]Captain Antonio[/span] [1] fell in love with My girl. He now takes double damage from all sources while My Girl is attacking but, because of jealousy, the boss attack power increases by 25% while attacking male players.
“What?” My Girl didn’t expect it and he started to get goosebumps all over, seeing the lecherous away the boss is looking at him.
When My Girl cried out in surprise, everyone looked at him trying to hold their laughter. It isn’t the time for it, but it is too hard to hold back their laughter because the situation is just too hilarious.
“It is not my fault!” My Girl looked at Harpy with pleading eyes. He really wants to hide behind his wife now.
“Humpf.” Harpy snorted and almost kicked My Girl in the boss’s direction. Sometimes, she asks herself why she loves someone like him.
“Concentrate on the boss!” Ye Yan said, taking everyone out of their state of astonishment.
Ye Yan went to attack the boss. He started the battle using [Provoke] to make the boss direct his attack to him and start building aggro. And as the skill lower the boss defense, the damage Ye Yan deal on him will increase for the next 10 seconds.
The boss tried to hit Ye Yan but he used his fan closed to defend against the boss Dao [2], deflecting it to the side.
He fought Captain Antonio for a few seconds and signaled his friends to freely attack the boss.
As Ye Yan is controlling the captain and has the ability to keeping the boss’s aggro on him, the other players started to use their skills to the max, dealing a huge amount of damage. They trust Ye Yan wouldn’t let the boss go off-tank (OT).
Because of the bonus damage that the boss would take if My Girl attacks him, he started throwing his needles at the boss.
Captain Antonio, on normal mode, didn’t do much damage on players when he uses AOE skills (Area of effect) compared with harder modes of the dungeon, thus they only need one doctor to heal them, giving My Girl the chance to attack the boss without having to worry about his teammates.
“I can’t forgive you for stealing this beauty from me. Only someone as powerful as me deserves such a beauty!” The boss started to speak as he attacked the male players with his AOE skill [Breath of Rum][3] that can inebriate the players, dealing damage and decreasing their physical and magical attack.
Snow White and My Girl started to use [Dispel] on the players to end the debuff effect, starting from Ye Yan and I Love Skooma.
When My Girl used his skill to help Ye Yan, the boss become enraged sooner than he should. Bosses normally enter in the berserk state when their health points lower to 10% of the total, but when the player that the boss fell in love with helps another player, it makes the boss jealous to the extreme, becoming enraged earlier.
The pressure on Ye Yan increased but he still could tank the boss without problems.
In the Hell mode, My Girl will have to just attack the boss and ignore the other players until the boss becomes enraged at 10% HP. It will pressure Snow White, but not so much as having the boss enraged for almost all the duration of the battle.
Luckily they had learned about it on Normal Mode, or they would suffer party wipe for sure.
Ye Yan is one of the few members of the party that never died before and he wants to keep things like that for as long as he can.
Ye Yan continued fighting the boss using his fan opened with his right hand to slash the boss and punching him with his left while kicking him from time to time.
Even Ye Yan being tall and strong, his body didn’t look as muscular as Conan. And compared with the boss he almost looked pitiful, because the boss looks like a very tall bodybuilder, the size of a door.
Ye Yan is attacking using all his limbers to max his damage but as he does so, he looks like a child trying to hit an adult. The scene is funny but no one noticed because they were too focused on not having their ass burned after the boss threw a small firebomb at them.
