Second Marriage: My Strongest Bodyguard - Chapter 363
Kareen looked at Dean who was convulsing and having trouble breathing, even his chest began to swell and his mouth opened. She shook her head with teary eyes. ‘I’m sorry, Dean… If you could understand how I feel, maybe I wouldn’t be this bad!’
Dean kept convulsing, panting, and slowly opening his eyes, glancing at Kareen who was staring at him with satisfaction.
“K… K… Kareen!” Dean had difficulty speaking, even his breathing began to short and his gaze shifted to Bryana who was lying on the bed right beside him about two meters away. ‘Honey… I still want to live longer with you… But, I’m in torment… ah, I can’t breathe!’ he thought until his tears just fell.
Kareen brought her face close to Dean’s and said, “You’d better die so that no woman will have you!”
‘Oh my God… I beg you… Give me a chance…,’ Dean thought with a chest that felt so tight and sore, looking at Kareen pleading for the oxygen tube to be put back in because his hands were so weak they couldn’t even move.
Bryana slowly woke up when she recognized someone was speaking. She turned to the side and saw Dean convulsing in front of Kareen who instead smiled at Dean. Instantly the woman’s eyes widened. ‘Dean….’
“Kareen!” Bryana sat up and rushed down from bed even though her body was very weak. She approached Dean and was about to attach the oxygen tube but Kareen pushed her so that she fell on the floor.
“Kareen, don’t be crazy you. You can make my husband die!” cried Bryana in annoyance and fear. She stood back up and walked over to Dean who was still convulsing about to put the tube back in but Kareen turned to hug her from behind and dragged her backward so she couldn’t help Dean anymore.
“Kareen, let me go!” cried Bryana in annoyance, trying to struggle but her body was too weak.
“Let him die so no one gets his love again!” Kareen said still holding Bryana tightly. She smiled slyly at the sight of Dean dying. “Look… we’ll see him die and no one will ever have him again!”
“You’re crazy, Kareen, you’re crazy!” Bryana growled as she struggled. She stared at the tightly closed door, hoping for a doctor or someone else to come in and realize the danger.
“Help … .anyone outside.. help!” Finally, Bryana screamed with teary eyes seeing Dean who was getting more and more convulsive until he finally stopped breathing.
“Honey, you have to endure!”
Bryana took the initiative to stomp on Kareen’s feet so hard that she let go of her arms.
“Shhh.. damn!”
Bryana rushed over to Dean. Trembling in fear, she stuck the oxygen tube to Dean’s nose but didn’t react at all. “You must not die, you must live!”
“Hahaha, he’s dead!” Kareen laughed evilly.
Bryana cries in confusion seeing Dean who has stopped breathing. “I beg you… I beg you to endure!” Bryana was about to go out to get help but Kareen grabbed her again.
Check…
Doctors and nurses came into the emergency room. Immediately they looked at the chaos and approached Dean who stopped breathing while the other nurses helped Bryana and called security to arrest Kareen.
“HE MUST DIE!” Kareen shouted as security dragged her out of the ER. She struggled to approach Dean who was being treated by the doctor.
Bryana didn’t care about Kareen anymore. She approached Dean and kept crying looking at him…The beautiful image of being together with her husband seemed to flash in her mind, spinning like a broken record, making her dizzy, unable to bear if the image was only a memory and could not carve out new, more beautiful memories, even she still remembers how happy her husband was when will have another child. ‘No, you must not go… You have to endure. Remember that we are waiting for our baby to be born, even you have already prepared a name for it. You have to survive, together we take care of our kids until they are old …,’ Bryana thought in her sobs looking at Dean who was getting help.
‘Keep your promise to always be strong… Always survive, stay alive in any condition, always by my side… Honey…I can’t live without you!” Bryana continued to cry in frustration seeing Dean who remained silent while the doctor induced his heart to beat again using a pacemaker.
Dubb… Dubb…
Dean had repeated seizures until his chest swelled up as the doctor pressed the heart trigger device against his bare chest.
“Oh my God… Please… .don’t take him from me,” Bryana said as she put her hands together and placed them on her chest, staring at the helpless Dean while Kareen had been dragged out of the room.
After several tries, finally, the heart rate monitor connected to Dean again showed that Dean’s heart was beating again. The doctor immediately reattached the oxygen tube and performed several re-examinations.
Dean panted, swallowed his saliva, then glanced at Bryana who immediately grabbed his hand while crying. He shook his head with tears and down his face. The man was crying because he was too afraid if God took his life that his wife would be sad.
“I’m… still here… with you,” he stammered, taking Bryana’s hand.
Bryana smiled and nodded, still holding hands with Dean.
“His condition is stable enough. But don’t talk too much because he needs enough rest,” said the doctor, who was a middle-aged man who was quite handsome wearing a white medical uniform.
“Thanks for helping him, Doc. lucky you came on time because that crazy woman wanted my husband’s death,” said Bryana, still sobbing.
“On behalf of the hospital, I apologize profusely for this incident. We didn’t know there was a fake nurse trying to kill your husband,” said the doctor with an uncomfortable look. Of course, if Dean died, he would feel very guilty because the safety of the hospital was not guaranteed until someone like Kareen managed to commit a crime there.
“The most important thing is that my husband can still be saved.” Bryana wiped her tears, then glanced at Dean who was silent trying to steady his breathing.
“You should also rest because you are pregnant and there are bruises on some parts of your body,” said the doctor.
“Is my fetus okay, Doc?” Bryana asked.
The doctor nodded. “Yes. Your fetus is fine. But you should rest enough to recover your body’s condition,” he replied with a warm smile.
Bryana heaved a sigh of relief, then glanced at Dean who was still holding her hand, and smiled at her with his eyes that looked very sad.
The nurse provided a chair for Bryana and asked her to sit as comfortably as possible so that she could always accompany Dean. After that, the doctor and nurse came out and prepared the VVIP room as Dean’s treatment room later.
Bryana sat down and looked at Dean sadly, then kissed the back of his strong but very weak hand. She was crying again remembering what happened earlier. This morning felt so terrible, like a nightmare she never imagined. If she hadn’t woken up soon and seen Dean in danger, perhaps things would have been much different by now, much more terrifying for him.
“Hey .. don’t cry,” Dean whispered.
Bryana shook her head, put the palm of Dean’s hand to her cheek, kissed it as she continued to cry. “I’m scared… I’m so scared!”
“I will always stand by you,” Dean whispered, wiping Bryana’s tears even though he was also crying.
