Second Marriage: My Strongest Bodyguard - Chapter 86
At noon, Kareen walked to Raymond’s workspace when everyone had gone to the cafeteria or cafe for lunch. Likewise, Monica has also gone out for lunch with other employees.
Kareen did her hair to make it look tidier and sprayed female-scented perfume when she arrived at the door of Raymond’s workspace which is Bryana’s workspace. She seemed to be trying to look attractive in front of her boss’s brother. Hem? didn’t she yesterday refused or even avoided it?
Knock … Knock …
Kareen knocked on the door which was unlocked.
“Come in!” There was a loud voice from inside.
Kareen immediately went in and approached Raymond who was focused on analyzing some of the files he had to sign.
“Everyone’s out for lunch, don’t you want to go out for lunch too?” Asked Kareen as she stood in front of Raymond’s table.
“I’m busy,” Raymond replied with a flat gaze, then refocused on his work.
“Do you need my help?” asked Kareen.
Raymond immediately looked up at Kareen. “No need,” he replied lazily.
Kareen sighed, looking at Raymond who looked different than yesterday. the man looked like he was angry or lazy to see her, even now he looked down at the file again.
“Raymond, I know you must be mad at me because last night I made you wait without certainty,” Kareen said sadly.
“If you know, why are you still standing there? Go on, I don’t think there’s any need to talk to a woman who doesn’t respect men at all.” Raymond spoke very curtly. Ugh, looks like he’s really mad at Kareen.
“I’m like that because I overslept,” says Kareen lied.
“Overslept?” Raymond looked incredulous.
“Yes, I went into the room to put my bag. At that time I lay down for a while because I was tired, and I even fell asleep,” explained Kareen full of lies. What does she want?
“You should have heard my calls,” Raymond muttered as he leaned his shoulders against Bryana’s oversized chair.
“My phone is in my bag and I turn on silent mode,” Kareen says.
“Really?” Raymond stared intensely at Kareen. who was stared at became embarrassed to justify her hair?
“I wasn’t on purpose and didn’t want to make you wait too long,” said Kareen sadly.
Raymond smiles at Kareen as if she sincerely admits her mistake. “Sit down, I think your legs are sore from standing up,” he exclaimed.
Because was sore since and was allowed to sit down, Kareen sat in the chair in front of Raymond’s desk. She looked at the man who was now smiling at her, not like before being curt. in her heart, she said, “you finally trusted me.”
Raymond stared at Kareen who looked even prettier and the fragrant scent of women made him feel comfortable around her. But he tried to understand what the woman’s arrival meant. For seducing him? or just want to give false hope again?
“Did you just come to explain last night’s problem?” asked Raymond.
“Uh, no … I thought …um, I wanted to invite you to dinner at my new apartment,”/Kareen replied nervously as Raymond’s gaze was so intense on her.
Raymond looked incredulous at what he was hearing. “Dinner? Only with me or ….?”
“Only with you as an apology because I made you disappointed. I realized I shouldn’t have ignored you before, because you are my boss,” explained Kareen sadly.
Raymond smiled wryly and felt that Kareen seemed to accept to be closer to him. Jeez, he’s been fooled by that lying woman.
“Maybe I’ll be overtime, maybe at eight o’clock I can come to your apartment,” he said.
Kareen smiled in relief. “It’s okay. Whatever time my apartment door is always open for you. And I … eh, I’ll cook a special menu for you.”
“Really? What if I come in the middle of the night?” asked Raymond with a seductive smile.
“You can still enter, but …I have to tie your hands before entering,” Kareen replied casually.
“Haha … I’m not like a bastard who likes to mess with women. without you tie my hands, you will remain safe because I will not do anything to you,” said Raymond while laughing because Kareen is a woman who looks after her honor.
“In that case, good. but I hope you don’t come in the middle of the night,” said Kareen as she got up from her chair.
“Where are you going?” asked Raymond.
“Get out,” Kareen replied with a raised eyebrow. “I’m hungry because this morning I woke up late and didn’t have time to have breakfast before work,” she explained. ughhh she must be lying and just looking for attention.
“Then I’ll come … uh, I mean I’ll treat you,” said Raymond as he got up.
“You said you were busy.”
“Yes, but I want lunch too.”
Kareen nods and smiles. “Yes, then, let’s have lunch together,” she exclaimed.
Raymond smiled happily and immediately walked out of the room, followed by Kareen.

outside, Monica is having lunch in the cafeteria next to the office with Hera, one of the employees at Bryana’s company. She sits while enjoying a cup of coffee latte and snacks in the form of French fries and onion rings dipped in chili sauce.
“Do you think Dean married Mrs. Bryana because of love?” asked Hera with her mouth still eating French fries.
“Of course because of love. Dean is a nice guy and he’s been married to a rich woman before,” Monica replied casually.
“Really?” Hera looked incredulous. “I thought he was a bachelor. no wonder at the wedding I saw a little girl who was always with Calvin. Is that his daughter?”
“Yes, her name is Sofia.” Monica takes a cup of her coffee latte which is topped with cream and granola powder which is deliberately sprinkled in the shape of a butterfly. “I’m not willing to drink it. I’ll take a picture first,” she said.
“Hahaha … You just need to drink it. Why take a picture.” Hera shook her head at Monica.
Monica grabbed her smartphone which was on the table, then took a picture of her coffee latte which has a butterfly image. “Beautiful butterfly.”
Hera turned her face and looked around. Her eyes widened when she found Kareen walking towards the parking lot with Raymond. She immediately tapped Monica’s shoulder.
“Hey, that’s your cousin. Why is she with Mr. Raymond?” asked Hera with enthusiasm pointing towards the parking lot about 50 meters from the canteen.
Monica straightened her head and looked at Hera’s finger-pointing. ‘She’s with Raymond? What for? Didn’t she say she wasn’t interested in Raymond?’ Monica thought questioningly.
“Monica!” Hera patted Monica’s shoulder who instead looked at Kareen and Raymond who had entered the car until the car left the parking lot…
“Uh, maybe they have work. Let it go,” Monica exclaimed angrily.
Hera let out a rough breath and returned to grab the snack. “I thought your cousin was approaching Mr. Raymond. I saw her dressed more prominently today. Very different from usual.”
“Maybe,” Monica said subconsciously.. She remembered when Kareen suddenly moved apartments. ‘Could it be that she moved because she didn’t want me to interfere with her closeness to Raymond?’
