Second World - Chapter 1907: Time to Get Serious
The hurricane Four Winds used to assault Asmodeus was a skill from his pinnacle class. It was King of Fury’s level 50 skill, Tornado Cross.
He could get a jump at Asmodeus because he, too, had learned mana concealment. Four Winds always had good martial arts talent. If not for his being bogged down by having to attend to guild affairs, his advancement in martial arts would not be slower than Leavemealone.
He learned the basics when he was training inside Everlasting Heavenly Legends’ Space-time Chamber. During that time, Domon and Wong were also in the chamber aside from his master, Murong. Leavemealone started learning mana concealment at the time, so Four Winds took the chance to request the same training as well. His expertise was still far from Jack’s level, but it was enough to get him close to Asmodeus before the devil sensed his presence.
Asmodeus stared at this newcomer. He recognized this orc’s voice. This orc was the one who had used the mana-empowered voice to make the absurd announcement. Now, he was making a declaration that was no less ridiculous.
“Vanquish me? Hehe… Interesting thought, but idiotic at the same time,” Asmodeus mocked. “Are there any more of you, outworlders? If there are, I will wait for them. I’ve grown tired of those fools, anyway.”
Petunia and Aneid gritted their teeth. It was no secret who Asmodeuss was referring to. Their pride was hurt. Yet, the reality was clear. They were indeed not Asmodeus’ match. If not for these outworlders’ interference, perhaps they would have joined Balrd’s fate.
Four Winds turned to Aneid and Petunia.
“Aneid, you are a healer, aren’t you? We will be relying on you,” He said. He had used Inspect on the two before addressing them. “We have no healer, so your support will be appreciated. Petunia, you stay back and keep Aneid safe. We will handle this devil.”
Petunia fumed. It hurt her pride to get ordered like this, but she calmed herself down. Pride had always been their core belief, but they also understood its flaws. Pride let them stand tall throughout all difficulties. But unchecked, it could be the very thing that brought them down.
She didn’t confirm Four Winds’ command but didn’t show any defying gesture as well. Four Winds took that as them agreeing.
“Handle me?” Asmodeus snickered. “Every time you open your mouth, your words get more and more silly.”
Four winds ignored Asmodeus. He told his three comrades, “Arthur, you are with me on the front line. Blackhole, you are in charge of damage dealing, but watch where you place your spells. Don’t hit us. Haon… You do whatever you like.”
Leavemealone harrumphed. The flaming wings behind him spread. He charged forward.
“I guess he will be on the front line as well,” Arthur remarked.
“Hmph,” Four Winds grunted. “We will attack from the sides different from him. Let’s move!”
Arthur and Four Winds also charged forward.
“I take it that there are only the four of you,” Asmodeus said.
Lightning Wings spread from his back. He shot up into the air before Leavemealone arrived. He then dropped back down abruptly at high speed. Leavemealone was taken aback by this move. He hurriedly jumped back. Asmodeus landed back on the ground with a loud thump. The ground caved in, and an earthquake spread outward.
Leavemealone flew up to avoid getting engulfed by the quaking earth. Four Winds and Arthur, who were halfway, did the same.
Asmodeus had started casting when he flew into the air. The spell was completed when he landed back on the ground. Countless lightning snakes spread in all directions.
Four Winds and the others recognized this spell. They had seen Jack cast it multiple times. The spell was the Perpetual Lightning Judgement. The lightning snakes were too fast. The three were unable to escape.
Four Winds used his bloodline’s third skill, Titan Tenacity. His skin hardened and became like metal. This skill reduced all the damage he received by 80% for one minute. Leavemealone and Arthur also had defensive skills from their unique-grade bloodlines. They hurriedly activated the skills.
Before the lightning snakes hit, a change occurred in the environment. The lightning snakes hit the three. However, the damage they produced was less than what they should have inflicted. This was not only because of the bloodlines’ defensive skills. It was also due to the condition of the environment.
The environmental condition came from Blackhole. Blackhole had cast Ruler of Elementals’ level 80 spell, Elemental Domain. This spell created a domain that boosted all allies’ elemental attacks. Whether they were skills or spells, the elemental damage was boosted. The domain also decreased all the elemental damage from hostile enemies.
Asmodeus frowned when he saw how ineffective his spell was. While he was pondering, different elemental energies assailed him. His frown turned deeper. He sensed these elemental energies didn’t come from any of his opponents. It was as if the environment itself was assailing him.
While his sense was not wrong, the cause of the phenomenon was Blackhole. As long as the elemental domain was active, Blackhole could spend MP to trigger the elemental power within the domain to cause 100% random elemental damage to the enemies. The random elemental damage included the soul and chaos elements.
Four Winds and the others shot back toward Asmodeus when he was bothered by the elemental assaults. Leavemealone had the fastest speed, so he arrived before Asmodeus first. He was eager because he didn’t want to waste his beast form. Unlike Jack’s, his didn’t last indefinitely. He intended to make full use of his beast form’s power.
He activated another buff skill to strengthen himself. This buff skill was from Supreme Fist’s level 90 skill, Supreme Reign. His entire body turned golden once the skill was active. Even the flames burning on his body also turned into golden flames. His stats skyrocketed. He used the Iron Punch.
Asmodeus was swinging his claw when he saw Leavemealone approaching. The claw and fist collided again. Before, Leavemealone was always the one thrown back from the impact. This time, the force threw them equally back.
Leavemealone’s speed also increased significantly. He disappeared from where he was and was already next to Asmodeus an instant later. He sent a spin kick, which struck Asmodeus’ sheep head. When Asmodeus tried to hit him using his claw, Leavemealone was gone again. Asmodeus then sensed a strong mana from below him.
He looked down and saw the image of a rising dragon. The dragon was roaring as he felt a strong impact on his chin. The blow was strong enough to lift even his giant body.
While Asmodeus’ heavy body was lifted into the air from the Surging Dragon Punch, Leavemealone used Infinite Lightning Punches. Countless fiery explosions occurred on Asmodeus’ chest as Leavemealone’s fists struck like a rapid machine gun. Leavemealone ended the punch with Supreme Fist’s level 50 skill, Supreme Punch.
Supreme Punch was a skill that delivered a single punch. The skill was simple, but it had two advantages. The first was its fast cooldown, which was only one minute at max level. The second was its damaging power, especially if the user landed a clean hit.
That was what happened right now. Leavemealone’s fiery fist struck head-on on Asmodeus’ belly. Damage number appeared. The damage was not higher than the one caused by Infinite Lightning Punches. However, this was just the start. If Supreme Punch landed, it had a follow-up effect.
The spot where Leavemealone punched started glowing. The glow intensified until it exploded. The explosion didn’t happen just once but multiple times. Each explosion sent Asmodeus further back. Damage numbers continued to pop up from this explosion. Since this explosion occurred from the inside, Asmodeus’ defense and lightning suit were useless against them. He suffered the full damage.
Asmodeus only stopped getting pushed back after the chained explosions ended. His three heads growled. He felt that punch. He felt like his inside was turning, which caused his reaction to slow.
Four Winds and Arthur arrived before him then. Both of them used their pinnacle classes’ offensive skills.
Four Winds used Furious Cleave, King of Fury’s level 80 skill. The skill dealt 2500% physical damage at max level. It also caused Bleed and had a high chance of wounding. The hit target got his defense reduced by 20% for the remainder of the battle. The defense reduction was not stackable. If Four Winds hit the same target again with this skill, the defense reduction would remain at 20%.
Arthur used Primordial Strike, Primordial Punisher’s first skill. This skill dealt 1000% physical damage under normal conditions. But if the target had hit Arthur within the last hour, which Asmodeus did with his Perpetual Lightning Judgement, the damage increased to 1500%. Additionally, this skill had a high chance of causing Dizzy, Disoriented, and Cursed.
If Primordial Strike slew the target, which it currently did not, the slain target became an avenging spirit that followed Arthur around. This avenging spirit fought Arthur’s enemies until it was killed or the combat ended.
The avenging orbs around Arthur were also different. They were larger and had a dark red shade. This was because of Primordial Punisher’s passive ability. All the avenging orbs were now punishing orbs. Punishing orbs had double the effects of the avenging orbs. It also lasted longer at ten minutes, and a maximum of twenty orbs could be generated.
Asmodeus gritted his teeth as all these skills landed on him. These skills were unlike any those Council of Hybris’ members threw at him. These skills had the capability to rattle him.
His bird claws and dragon claws gripped the ground hard. The ground cracked from the force. His three pairs of eyes shone with an ominous glow.
It was time to get serious.
