Secret Marriage:The Wolf And The Sheep - Chapter 172
Soon after her departure, Nora Xu and her words were forgotten. But the problems facing Lu Enterprises were yet to be reduced. As the head of departments of advertising, marketing and Finance came together to discuss a new hitch. after several months of hard work under the guidance of the new Chairwoman, the company was set to launch new products for the emerging markets of E sports and their fashion statements but their brand ambassador was now refusing to endorse the products. They had already lose their female brand ambassador as Lu Yeona and her brothers had gone missing soon after the money laundering scandal had erupted and they were yet to finalize any model that could replace her. And now if their male celebrity backed out at the last minute.. preparing and redesigning the campaign within the date was going to be next to impossible and would result in many losses. However after many discussions with the superstar’s agent, they had not been able to reach a satisfactory answer. According to the contract, the actor was willing to pay the termination fee also but this would still result in incredible losses financially as well as wastage of their resources.
Finally, just before the closing hours, this matter was brought to Xie Eun’s notice. A few minutes after studying the summary, she looked up and ordered curtly, “Find the whereabouts of Hua Ying and arrange a dinner for tonight. Cheng Mo nodded and went about to follow the orders. Xie Eun glanced down again in thought this time. It was clear that the man did not want to really break the contract but he was not above using dirty tricks when he wanted to get his way. And since he had waited so long to raise his head, it showed how patiently calculating the man was. She did not doubt for a moment that Cheng Mo could not arrange this meeting. For one, she was sure that this man was actually waiting for her to contact him and the second that Cheng Mo had received training from her husband and had his own way to get people to cooperate. Leaving her chair, she messaged Yu Seok that she would not be at the company tonight, explaining the circumstances marginally because she had promised him to not over work herself from now on, and went to the small room adjoining the office. There she changed into a simple black dress and applied some make up thinking of herself as a knight wearing his armor, ready to go fight a war. She sighed, wanting to wear her comfy clothes and lounge back at home in Yu Seok’s arms. She could lay her head on his chest and sleep. Pouting, she cursed Hua Ying.
A few minutes later, Cheng Mo arrived with a venue and announced, “Hua Ying has agreed to see Madam at The Imperial Crown hotel in an hour.” Though this was relayed normally, Xie Eun detected a bit of unease in Cheng Mo’s voice and raised an eyebrow,” What’s wrong?”
Cheng Mo cleared his throat and explained, “I am not too comfortable with you meeting Hua Ying alone but that is the condition he has placed for meeting you. He has also threatened that if you do not come alone then he will not negotiate. This is totally unprofessional of him Madam and something really degrading to you as he would not have dared to lay such a condition to a male chairperson.” By the end of this conversation, the agitation in Cheng Mo’s voice got louder and louder. Over the course of working here, Cheng Mo had come across and handled many such degrading demands on her behalf much to his own disgust. No wonder the boss had wanted him to be here. Wolf had known that Cheng Mo would take this to heart and thus sent him here. He had been right.
Cheng Mo looked disapproving on the face but he felt sad that people who were considered Idols by the common people would also behave in such a despicable way. Hua Ying was one of the biggest and most respected actors in the country. He had even been termed the nation’s husband by many. Having played a world saving hero in most of his movies, Cheng Mo too had been a fan of the man and looked forward to working with him. And thus Cheng Mo too felt completely disillusioned.
Seeing Cheng Mo behave like an over protective, disapproving big brother, Xie Eun was touched as well as amused. She smiled at him in an assuring way and said,” Cheng Mo, do you think your boss would ever let anyone bring me harm?”
“Of course not!” Cheng Mo immediately scoffed. To Cheng Mo and even Xie Eun, Wolf was omnipotent and thus both of them were immediately calm.
Cheng Mo drove Xie Eun to the hotel and said, “Madam. I will be waiting right here for you. Please do not leave your phone and call me immediately if you feel uncomfortable.”
Xie Eun nodded and soon left the car. This time, even though Xie Eun seemed to be walking leisurely, her senses were all on high alert. She too was not in favor of meeting this man and seemed to be having a bad premonition. As she got closer to the room that the man seemed to have booked, her sixth sense started to ring with alarm bells and she had to forcefully suppress the urge to turn back and run. Just before they reached the door, Xie Eun suddenly stopped, seeming to have lost her balance and leaned against the wall. The hostess who had already stepped forward did not notice this but another guest did. He rushed forward and asked, “Miss, are you alright?”
Xie Eun looked up at the stranger and nodded before trying to straighten up and thanking the man. The man gave her a polite nod and extended his hand to help her a bit. Once sure that she was not hurt, the man removed his support and the two people went separate ways.
