Secrets of the Universe - Chapter 130
They could feel it.
Cheyenne could feel it.
Jake could feel it.
That was the reason why they gradually got lost in the fight. A feeling of the emergence of something in both of them.
Jake couldn’t understand, but he knew that their battle was only able to propel to this scale due to the intense reaction both of them had for each other.
Jake could hear a whisper in his head, telling him to kill her, to murder leaving nothing, not even her bones.
Normally, he wouldn’t think much of it as it was not strange, but this time, the whispering became more intense and clouded his thoughts.
All his attacks following that were brutal and aimed at the fatal parts of Cheyenne, who also did the same.
*Boom!* *Booom!*
The two tussled and tussled until they gradually forgot the reason they were fighting.
After thirty minutes of fighting, they distance themselves to take a break.
The last bout was exceedingly cruel for both of them. Cheyenne pierced his stomach, while Jake repaid that by doing the same.
Panting, Jake leaned on his sword as support.
Despite his efforts, everything seemed grim.
He watched as Cheyenne propelled in power, defying the norms. Every single second, her attack got stronger.
This made him alert, insanely alert, as if she continued at the progressive rate, he would find himself overwhelmed in no time.
‘I need to end this,’ Jake huffed.
Yet, he couldn’t find any way to end it. He had no special attack that could finish the battle quicker.
Sooner or later, his [Spirit Pool] would drain and he would find himself at the mercy of a bottomless Cheyenne.
Blocking the whispering that kept getting louder, Jake sighed, ‘What a sad life? I guess I have to use it.’
Jake rubbed his eyes after he decided on his next course of action.
Controlling his emotion, he softly dug deeper into himself and activated his special eye.
Once again, the [Akashic Eye] was revealed to the world, making Jake complete again.
The moment he awoke, Cheyenne who was watching him received electric shocks throughout her body. It got more intense as she stared deep into the abyssal eye of the cosmos.
Something seemed to be triggered looking at the eye. Something in her refused to back down to the secrets, to the wonders, to the glory of the stars.
Something that was long forgotten, threatening to emerge, to outshine the [Akashic Eye]. It just needed a single push, one push. However, she had not yet found it.
She didn’t need it as her energy level increased to rival those close to [Realm-3]!
*Whoosh!*
While she was deep in thoughts, Jake materialized in front of her and slashed deep into her skin.
“What?” Cheyenne exclaimed just before the pain kicked in.
If not for her inner armor, she might have been killed under that single stroke.
She watched as blood poured out of her pierced armor smoothly.
Following her senses, Cheyenne blocked an attack from Jake, but it wasn’t enough.
Her block was pierced at its weak point, thereby damaging the weapon.
Cheyenne couldn’t understand what she was seeing. She watched as Jake raised his sword high in the air.
The sword attracted all kinds of light, using Jake as the power source. When it brimmed to its fullest, Jake murmured softly, “[Limitless Slash]!”
Cheyenne found herself looking at radiant energies coming straight at her.
It had originated from Jake’s sword and carried the momentum Jake gathered.
‘Impossible. What is this?’ Cheyenne panicked.
For the first time in her life, she saw a beautiful slash, so perfect that when she conducted all kinds of possible scenarios, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
In all of them, there was only one result for her. DEATH!
The same outcome, even if she employed all sorts of tactics like evading, negating, or repelling.
That was how deadly the attack was, an attack so perfect, that it could cut anything mundane.
However, what put Cheyenne on the spot was the strength behind the attack.
When she looked at it, it moved slowly, the pace of a snail, which was strange for an attack of that caliber.
She watched as it inched, closer and closer, to her location. That was when she understood something.
‘His state of mind…It has reached that point,’ analyzed Cheyenne.
Despite not looking it, Cheyenne was probably the most well-versed in cultivation.
That was how she was able to achieve the mystical state before Jake. The same mystical state that Jake had become so deep in it, just in one fight.
Funny enough, the mystical state wasn’t exactly mystical. It was a state of mind pertaining to weapon users, which made them share and combine the senses of both parties.
It had been called many names; [One with the Weapon], [Weapon Synchronization], [Symbiosis]. However, it doesn’t change the fact that only those that are masters with their weapon can achieve, and when they do so, they can perform extraordinary feats.
Take Jake, for example, the [Limitless Slash] he executed was the manifestation of the peak of his swordsmanship and most likely augmented with the abilities of his strange eye.
In Cheyenne’s eye, the attack was slow, but, truthfully, it wasn’t.
It was so fast that Cheyenne couldn’t move, she could only think and wait for the attack to reach her.
She could only bid her time!
Despite achieving her [Spear Synchronization State], Cheyenne hadn’t delved into it, to be able to deal out an attack just like Jake’s. Now, she regretted not doing so.
She had used all her accumulation to achieve the state. Hence, she needed to gain further understanding of the path of the spear.
It was too late, and she knew it!
Facing her looming death, Cheyenne got drowned in the sound of the attack.
She suddenly found peace with it, but later realized that if she died, she might not be able to find clues of her mother, no matter what it was.
Yet, it was all for naught as the attack didn’t discriminate.
It hovered over her, and when she looked at it….it descended on her!
