Secrets of the Universe - Chapter 208
“There comes a stage for every living being where they are required to develop an energy core. It is compulsory for progress. Think of it, Humans, demon beasts, spirit beats, and other races….why do they have a power core, a sort of nucleus to power their moves?” ambiguously said Quinn.
Jake could understand the angle that Quinn was coming from.
He fiddled with his energy construct as he gave his own theory, “…The former power core, which is the heart for humans can’t keep up with the newly improved body. Hence, the creation of an energy core, which would take care of all [Spirit Essence] related issues. Going by that, if one wants to upgrade his weapon to the [Sky Rank] then he would want to create one.”
However, each energy core was unique to an individual. One cannot accept another person’s energy core.
So, how should they know a weapon’s energy core?
How would they know what core fits a weapon?
Jake raised his brows at Quinn, “You have the ability to create the perfect energy core for a weapon?”
Quinn scratched his head as he smiled, “Yes. It requires a sort f perception like the [Sword Symbiosis]’s senses. I can peel off a veil from the material world and sees how the different energies interact with the weapon.”
Jake mused, “Do all other craftsmen have this perception?”
He had long known what the second level of the [Sword Path] was actually all about.
It was simply him combining his senses with his weapon to peer into a more intimate layer of the mundane plane.
This way he would see the invincible relationship between every physical substance, increasing his attack efficiency in the process.
Jake reckoned that this phenomenon was similar on the second level of all paths.
“Yes and no. This special type of perception is required for them to break through to their second level, but to create an energy core, it needs to be deeper. Luckily, I have achieved just that. However, I couldn’t be reckless about it due to my previous cultivation realm,” boasted Quinn.
“You are telling me this because the energy core would be located on the pommel, right?” Jake figured out
Just like how stylish people would position beautiful crystals on the hilt, Quinn too had that idea.
He nodded back at Jake in affirmative.
Jake sighed, “What materials do you need for the creation of the energy core?”
“Oh, all types of natural energy crystals and energy cores. Also, I will buy the other materials from the market, but I believe you have all of these, ” quipped Quinn.
Right now, his good eye was helping him as he was right. Jake did possess the materials.
After all, the latter had robbed the Aztec’s hidden stash.
He replied to Quinn, “I will give it to you after we finish our discussions.”
Not looking at the construct above him, he left a hole on the pommel to signify the existence of its energy core.
Moving on to the chains, he tried changing the sizes but couldn’t decide on the right size.
After a few minutes, Jake finally found it.
He remembered the size of the chains that bound him when he was with the surviving Aztec crew.
He remembered the chains that tied him down when a certain scientist in his previous world decided he was the right person to experiment on.
He remembered the feeling of powerlessness that would later go on to scar him for the rest of his life even to date.
The feeling of being chined up and losing any type of mobility. That feeling one would have when they see a blade creeping up their fae, but can’t react to it no matter how badly they want to.
Perhaps, that was why he was so adamant about the chained sword.
He wanted to hold his weakness close to him. He wanted to prove to it that it couldn’t deter him.
That time when he was tied with a rope by the Aztec king’s soldiers, he felt suffocated for no reason.
It took all his willpower to keep a clear mind. Yet, he could feel it, some sense of unsettledness that had been deep wired into his brains.
However, in between all the uneasiness, he felt a certain trepidation of being close to his weakness.
He had to admit. He had a little madness buried inside his perfect self.
That was why he wanted a chained sword!
The feeling of using his weakness as a weapon….the feeling of conquering.
It would be one crazy sensation.
After finding the right size for the chain part of the weapon, Jake found a way for him to comfortable wear the entire set.
He disregarded the need for a handle at the end of the chain.
Instead, under the eyes of his weapon maker, he designed the chains to be able to wrap around his arm no matter the length of it.
Using his brilliant mind, he made top knuckle rings that connected to the chain with smaller chains.
That way he would be to delicately control the chain. Like a pianist with his piano or a warrior that uses strings as his weapon.
Each movement of his fingers would be able to ‘play’ a certain move.
Also, if he was in a pinch, he would be able to perfectly infuse his energy into the weapon and forcefully control it.
He could even will t back to wrap around his arm, redacting it.
As long as he has enough practice, it would all work out for him.
After Jake and Quinn finally finished drawing the concept work of his weapon, Quinn promised to prepare all the material before the end of the day
Jake also ordered for a shortsword to be made with the leftover materials.
When it was Kaleyx’s turn, she ordered many throwing weapons and an interesting weapon that had been gaining prominence in this world for quite some time, a gun!
She said that she was fated with the weapon and wanted a dual pistol and a sniper.
Luckily, the weapons were in Quinn’s stock back at his shop.
He warned her about the weapon tho, “Guns are cold weapons that are looked down upon by traditional warriors. However, their effects are undeniable, but to use it well, you would have to be producing its bullets. Also, it would od you good to have an array master. They are said to be the only ones that can use the weapon.”
After his warnings, he left.
Kaleyx wasn’t disturbed tho. She had an array master as her ally!
