Sect Leader’s Rise to the top! - Chapter 113
The group landed at the extraction point and Wu Xianhai put away the flying carpet.
“My artifact has run out of Qi. I won’t be able to use it for at least a day…”. She seemed concerned as she spoke.
Kai looked around the massive enclosure and noted that it had only one opening. However, the ceiling was extremely high and the rocky walls were oddly smooth.
“Hou Zhou and Song Wei, you two come with me. I think I have an idea of how we can get out of here. Wu Xianhai, you stay here and intercept anyone who shows up. Just explain what you told us, but make sure they don’t panic.”. After Kai spoke, he quickly moved towards the dead-end part of the enclosure.
Song Wei and Hou Zhou looked at each other with some confusion but decided to follow his instructions.
Wu Xianhai was about to ask about his plan when the four disciples entered the cave. They quickly noticed Wu Xianhai and ran straight towards her.
“Princess!. I’m glad you are safe!. Please can you explain what’s going on?. What exactly was that fog?”. Said one of the male disciples in a panicked tone.
“…I’m not sure if the elders have figured it out yet, but the pocket dimension is currently being destroyed by an [Grade-4] Illusion demon. Also, don’t call me princess!”. Wu Xianhai responded frankly.
The disciples all gulped in unison while looking at each other.
“If things have already gotten this bad, then we have to escape!. Do you think they can open the portal early?”. The female disciple asked worriedly.
“…That is impossible. The exit portal can only be opened once a month. We will have to wait two more days…”
As they spoke, one of the disciples saw Kai in the distance. Behind him were Hou Zhou and Song Wei. The three of them seemed to be intently talking about something.
“What about them?”. Asked one of the disciples with a frown.
Wu Xianhai looked over to Kai but did not say anything. She knew that he was her best bet at getting out of this mess alive. She shook her head and instructed the four not to antagonize him. She did not go much into detail but mentioned that Kai was not one to be trifled with.
At that moment, a large swarm of cultivators started to pour into the cave one after the other. They noticed the group of Twin-Lions sect disciples and instantly ran towards them.
“What’s going on!?”
“You need to explain the situation to us, is this still part of the test?…”
“My brother, what happened is my brother!?”
The four disciples all stood Infront of Wu Xianhai and unsheathed their swords.
“All of you stand back!. The situation has changed slightly but the terms have not. Those of you who continue to act unruly will be disqualified immediately!”
The crowd was somewhat calmed, but there were still those demanding answers. Wu Xianhai explained the situation to those who would listen, and forcibly pacified the rest with a swift kick to their gut. After a few were made examples of, the rest quickly fell into line and waited patiently for their orders.
Everyone had dejected looks on their faces seeing as they now knew that the creature was at [Grade-4]. Many of those present understood that a creature of that magnitude could only mean death no matter what they tried to do. None of them would even try to venture out on their own after hearing that. Their best bet was to stay with the Twin-Lions Sect’s disciples and hope they could survive these two days together.
“I can’t believe how powerful she is. She knocked that big guy out with one hit!”, Whispered one of the cultivators.
“Shhh!, do you want her to do the same to us?!”
“You two!. Do you have a problem?!”. Wu Xianhai shouted while starring at the disruptive two.
“No!”, They yelled in unison, prompting the people around them to slowly move away in fear.
Wu Xianhai sneered, but then heard the sound of footsteps behind her. When she turned around, she saw Kai walking back, along with Hou Zhou and Song Wei.
“Well done miss Wu, everyone seems to have calmed down. Now, let me explain what I have in mind…”
The four Twin Lions Sect disciples were outraged by how casually Kai spoke to Wu Xianhai, but they held their tounges when they remembered her instructions.
Wu Xianhai nodded and waited for Kai to explain.
“We need to build stone platforms high above the ground. The longer we can avoid the fog, the better. Of course, the platforms are just the first line of defense. Next, we would need….”
“Wait, platforms?. how exactly are we going to do that?”. Asked one of the cultivators skeptically.
Wu Xianhai wanted to chastise him for interrupting, but Kai waved it off and answered the question. As he spoke, he turned to look at the female cultivator from the Twin-Lions sect.
“I’m sure this woman here can manipulate the stones and create platforms. It shouldn’t be too difficult for you right?….”Kai spoke confidently, which stunned the Twin-Lions Sect’s disciples.
The female disciple was especially shocked. She had indeed used an artifact to enhance her ability. This allowed her to create the stone pillar that the disciples all stood on at the entrance.
“How did you figure it out?…”. the woman asked in a hushed tone.
Kai shrugged his shoulders and explained. “You have a superiority complex. From the beginning, you always need to have the high ground. Be it on the boulder at Huang City. Or the pillar on the mountain range. I’ve been in and out of Huang City numerous times but have never seen such a massive boulder that close to the city…It didn’t take much to figure out…”
Wu Xianhai looked at Kai and was amazed by how observant he was, while the woman ground her teeth in annoyance.
Kai continued to explain his plan loud enough for everyone in the enclosure to hear. After a while, other people also started to ask questions. Kai calmly answered each of their questions. As they spoke, the group gradually started to believe in Kai’s plan.
“This could work!”
“Can we survive this?…”
“Silence!, You all heard the plan. Go make yourselves useful!”. Yelled Wu Xianhai.
“Anyone who has techniques that can assist with the preparations must make themselves known. Remember that the evaluation is still ongoing, so those who perform well, will be rewarded!”. Wu Xianhai added this and inspired many cultivators to run to the front.
The four disciples alongside Hou Zhou and Song Wei helped organize the people. While the people were distracted, Wu Xianhai took the chance to walk up to Kai.
“Your plan is agreeable, but there is an obvious flaw…”. Wu Xianhai said in a quiet voice that only Kai could hear.
Kai nodded his head since he knew the flaw she had mentioned. Kai looked around before he discreetly pulled out a green vial from his spatial bag. Wu Xianhai’s face instantly lit up when she saw this.
“That’s why I have a backup plan, just in case. I hope you still remember our agreement?”. Kai said with a friendly smile.
Wu Xianhai couldn’t take her eyes off the veil elixer and quickly nodded her head in excitement.
“Indeed I do!….”
