Seoul Object Story - Chapter 92: Pudding Factory (4)
Yerin POV:
—
Beyond the headless corpses, the dark building entrance was gaping open like the mouth of a monster.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
From inside that building, the sound of heavy footsteps shook the ground.
The scent of blood grew thicker.
Swallowing hard at the sudden eerie atmosphere, I tightly grasped Reaper’s hand.
From the darkness, an ominous red light flickered.
The light bobbed up and down in time with the rumbling of the ground, and it looked like the eyes of a demon.
‘It’ll be okay since Reaper is next to me.’
Even though I thought that, my whole body stiffened from the tension.
The silhouette that naturally emerged from the darkness was a giant robot in the shape of a teddy bear.
The teddy bear, drenched in blood, half submerged in the darkness, exuded a sinister atmosphere.
Grrr.
Along with the sound of scraping metal, clumps of blood were dripping from the teddy bear’s outstretched front paws, perhaps from crushed internal organs sticking to them.
Even though it wasn’t moving, my breath quickened as if I was running.
Scary!
Thud-!
And then, It held the door open with one bloody arm and slowly began to reveal its entire body.
An appearance straight out of a horror movie scene.
And the teddy bear, which had been slowly revealing itself, paused for a moment before slinking back into the darkness.
“Huh?”
Why is it doing that?
Could it be running away?
As the teddy bear disappeared into the darkness, Gray Reaper’s eyes flashed as it dashed lightning-fast into the building.
It’s like a cat chasing a fleeing toy in moments like these.
“Haha, hahaha.”
Suddenly the tension was released, and the situation seemed funny, making me laugh for some reason.
As expected, I feel safe when I’m with Reaper!

The Bear POV:
—
A monster appeared.
The moment our eyes met, I realized it.
Those piercing yellow eyes that shone, seeing through to the essence.
A monster of a different caliber.
Gritting my teeth, I had to get as far away from the monster as quickly as possible.
It’ll be okay.
It’ll be fine.
A monster like that won’t be interested in a weakling like me, so I’ll be okay if I just run away and hide.
I hid in a dark room and locked the door behind me.
To conceal the light from my eyes, I covered both eyes and crouched down as small as possible.
Tong-!
A sound came from outside, like something knocking on the iron door.
No way, it couldn’t be.
Bang Bang Bang-!
A sound came from knocking on the iron door outside.
And as time passed, no sound could be heard.
“…”
Did it finally leave?
“…”
It must have left by now, right?
I removed my hands covering my eyes and looked around – nothing had changed from when I entered.
Ah, what a relief.
Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang-!
Just as relief filled my mind, suddenly a knocking sound came from the iron door.
No way.
Turning my gaze towards the sound again,
There was a round hole in the iron door, and the monster was poking its head through.
The monster, baring a cruel smile as if shouting ‘I found you!’
T/N: HAHAHAHA
‘No! I can’t die like this!’
Screaming inwardly, I opened the door on the opposite side and started running.
Bwaaangg-!
But I didn’t get far before falling to the ground.
Looking back, both my legs had been cleanly severed.
And beyond that, the monster was slowly approaching.
With my intact hands, I pushed my body backwards.
To get a little further away from the monster.
Grgrk. Grgrk
But I couldn’t escape.
If I couldn’t fight it off when I had both legs, it would be even more impossible now.
Putting on a playful smile, the unsuspecting predator,
Hoping for a surprise strike, I threw a punch with all my strength.
But the moment I threw the punch, the monster suddenly vanished from my sight.
And suddenly my field of vision spun half a turn.
I saw my collapsing torso from behind.
My pitiful torso, having lost its head and legs.
The monster had already approached and was knocking on my head.
Thud thump thump thump thump-!
And gradually my vision narrowed until I was enveloped in eternal darkness.

Reaper (MC) POV:
—
The teddy bear desperately trying to flee died.
The teddy bear’s destruction condition was <Seperation of head and body>.
In a way, it could be seen as a pitiful situation, but I didn’t really think so.
Who wouldn’t think that way if they saw the teddy bear?
Its hands were soaked in blood and pieces of internal organs, and its entire body was covered in blood.
Is this what it feels like to see a man-eating tiger?
When I approached right up to the pitifully crawling teddy bear and stared at it intently, it seemed to think it was an opportunity and raised its arm to try to strike me down.
A speed so nimble it was hard to think of as the previously sluggish teddy bear.
But I lightly avoided it with ghostification and severed the connection between the teddy bear’s head and body with ghostification.

Black viscous liquid gushed out from the severed neck.
That viscous liquid I saw in the desert.
The black, smelly, unpleasant liquid.
But unfortunately, the amount of that liquid seemed too little.
With this, I cannot accidentally let the Golden Reaper out to pull pranks.
I had somewhat expected it since I faintly smelled that scent from the teddy bear!
With a disappointed feeling, I returned to where Yerin was, and Yerin welcomed me excitedly.
“Uwaa, Reaper, you’re back!”
But seeing my expression, she asked with a worried look.
“Huh? Reaper, did something happen? You look kinda gloomy…”
Yerin poked my cheeks while making a concerned face.
Amidst Yerin’s concern, I felt like I was being watched.
Not by an Object, but by a human gaze. Who could it be?

3rd Person POV:
—
In a secret space located in a corner of the factory.
Various electronic equipment that ordinary people would have trouble guessing the purpose of were crammed in, and on one side of the room, various CCTV screens were displayed.
Two men were watching those CCTV screens with serious expressions.
The brutally smashed teddy bear figure on the screen.
Watching the surveillance footage, the men felt a creepy feeling as if their own heads had been severed when they saw the severed teddy bear head.
“As expected, it’s a top-tier Object. A level 2 is no match. I can’t understand the mentality of civilians who try to follow the dance of such an Object.”
“Ah, I was stunned seeing that too. There have been a few major incidents related to Gray Reaper, so I wonder if that’s the kind of reaction…”
The two men monitoring the Pudding Factory parking lot with CCTV and telescopes were agonizing over the sudden appearance of Gray Reaper.
The operation to isolate the factory and induce casualties had been meticulously planned over a long time.
But the sudden appearance of Gray Reaper was an unexpected contingency that had not been reviewed.
“With Gray Reaper’s appearance, it seems we need to change the plan. In the worst case, we may have to give up on one of the targets.”
“Should we just retrieve the ‘item’ we’ve secured and get out? The client won’t like it though…”
After agonizing, the stoic man made a decision.
“We’ll proceed with the operation. But we’ll change the means. A casualty due to ‘failed Object isolation’ would be best, but we have no choice.”
He opened a long bag and took out a suspiciously large rifle.
It was a sniper rifle with a large scope attached.
“There are still other Objects left in the factory, but with Gray Reaper’s appearance, we have no choice.”
The man who set up the sniper rifle said while scanning the parking lot through the scope.
“After sniping James, I’ll have to take care of the interpreter and the researcher too. Since we’ll have to get out right after shooting, prepare the rest of the equipment.”
But his colleague didn’t respond at all.
“Hm?”
“Kuh…khhgk.”
His colleague, who showed no reaction, had multiple finger-sized holes in his neck, clutching his throat as he died.
And behind him, Gray Reaper was glaring fiercely.
How did it find out about this place?
The man was quite flustered, but his actions were swift.
In an instant, he drew his pistol and opened fire at Gray Reaper.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three bullets were fired from the silenced pistol.
Two to the body, one to the head.
The man gave a satisfied smile.
Bullets made in America to deal with Objects.
It was a weapon that could burn and kill even unkillable monsters.
The white flames spewing from the bullets began burning Gray Reaper’s body.
But Gray Reaper, with an angry expression, didn’t care about the fire on its body and approached the man, blowing his head off.
The raging white flames soon calmed down, and Gray Reaper stood blankly as if composing itself, then began looking around.

Reaper (MC) POV:
—
Inside the small space, the thick smell of blood filled the air.
Suddenly, the thought of killing Yerin, I became overwhelmed with agitation and ended up killing them all.
Looking around, there seemed to be no clues to identify who these men were or their affiliation.
It was a pity, because these bad people should be rooted out.
The room the men occupied was crammed with all sorts of electronic equipment that looked suspiciously like tools for illegal activities.
Among them, one item felt different.
This must be the ‘item’ those evil men mentioned.
An antique leather briefcase.
Its elaborate design wasn’t special, but the material itself felt peculiar.
Like an Object, but not quite.
It seemed important, so I took it.
Then I blasted a hole through the wall and dashed towards where Yerin was.
I’ve dealt with the surveillance team, now I need to save the pudding factory.

3rd Person POV:
—
James, lying comfortably on the bed with his eyes closed, suddenly opened his eyes and got up.
“It’s too quiet.”
The interpreter looked puzzled at James’ words, but soon realized something was off.
“You’re right? I don’t hear the teddy bear demolishing the building.”
James checked his watch and said,
“It hasn’t even been an hour since I called, and they’ve already dealt with the steel teddy bear? Something’s fishy. Physically impossible.”
“Maybe they’ve set another trap? Waiting for us to come out?”
James jumped off the bed and approached the control room door.
“I don’t see why they’d need to sell us a trap like that when they can take their time and give us a high probability of success, and then we can pretend that a passing monk took pity on us and came to our rescue.”
Suddenly, James put a finger to his lips, gesturing to be quiet.
“Don’t you hear something?”
Straining their ears like James, they heard a faint sound.
[Pudding.]
[Pudding.]
The interpreter’s face turned pale.
“Don’t tell me it’s those monster rabbits?”
As the interpreter spoke, pink robot rabbits poured out of the control room’s air vent.
[Pudding!!!!!!!]
They were cute rabbit robots wearing chef’s hats and holding whisks and measuring spoons.
“Run!”
But upon seeing them, James and the interpreter slammed the control room door and frantically began fleeing
They were avoiding the sharp-edged whisks and the measuring spoons that resembled spears.
