Serendipitous Wedding. - Volume 1 Chapter 28

Claira chuckled at the boy’s words and turned to look at him. “You really do not know any thing about hollywood news, don’t you!”

“Umm..Why do you say that?” Jack frowned.

“Well, they are my adoptive parents, who took me in when I was fifteen years old. I stayed with them for three years, untill I went to the acting school.” Claira smiled. “They have been very nice to me. I lost my parents in an air- crash and my adootive parents were my father’s best friends. So they decided to adopt me and gave me all the love and support. I was the only child of my parents. I could not live with them much due to collrge and now my career, but I know the three of them will always support me. No matter what! That’s why, I decided to not run away from the cruise. I could have done that easily, telling the media, I missed it. But then, I know, it will effect my parents and my sister too.” She smiled sadly, looking at Jack.

“Hmmm! I understand you. Do you remember the 9/11, tragedy, involving the twin towers?” Jack heaved a deep sigh.

“Yes! Offcourse!” Claira frowned looking at the man’s sad face.

“My parents were a victim of it too! Leaving behind me and my sister. We were kids back then, but then had to handle it somehow. My sister gave me all the support, being the elder one. I would say, I am blessed to have her. She is more like my mother now!” Jack smiled thinking about his sister.

“Ahh! You have a sister! What does she do?” Claira smiled empathatically.

“We both take care of our dad’s company now. Trying to work hard, to not let his name down!” He sighed. Claira could see the light reftection of tears forming in his eyes. “Yeah! She is happily married now! To my best friend. They have a five year old naughty son too. So yeah, all is good!!” Jack smiled looking back at the girl.

“It is tough! I do understand that Jack!” Claira patted the boy’s shoulder, nodding her head in approval. “It’s normal to feel low about it. I miss my parents too a lot!! You don’t have to hide it from me. I will understand it!” Claira smiled, choking her throat too.

Soon the waiter came, and placed down two more glasses of wine, in front of them.

They both picked up one glass each and raised a toast. “To our parents up there. We love you and miss you so much!” Claira grinned, looking up at the cloud covered sky.

Jack looked at the sky too, raising his glass. “Ahh!! I miss you mom and dad!! Dad, hope you are liking what me and Jo are doing with your company!!”

They both clinked their glasses, smiling at each other. “Cheers!!!” They both took a sip from their glasses, looking again at the sky above.
