Serina: The Alpha’s Mate - Chapter 64
He missed her birthday celebration because of his stupidity but he didn’t want to miss her for the rest of their lives. He has to make it up to her but he just couldn’t get in touch with her. He was getting frustrated. Michael wasn’t answering his calls either. He knew that something’s wrong and they were shutting him off from their lives.
“Do you think Michael knows about us which was why he’s hiding away his daughter?” Nicholas questioned Kiro because he really felt that was what’s happening to them.
‘If he knew that you are Rina’s mate, he should have known that there’s no point hiding her. We’ll find her wherever she is.’
“Wherever? Wait. Could..could it be that…that she went back to Paris?” His eyes lit up immediately and decided to call her number over there. It didn’t matter if international call is expensive. He just wanted to know where she was and go to her. The phone rang but there was no answer. He tried once again but it was still to no avail. “But the phone rang, that means she really went back to Paris. Why?”
‘Idiot! Why do you keep asking why? Just pack up and leave already!’
“You don’t have to yell at me. I’m doing it.”
‘One of us needs to be calm and sane. Apparently, that role falls on me.’ Kiro replied and snarl at Nicholas. Both their future is at stake at this moment and if they couldn’t fix this, it would be very difficult for them start over with Serina again. They hurt her. Well, Nicholas hurt her. He judged her without knowing the truth and he refused to believe her. It was the worse reaction from a mate.
Nicholas didn’t wait for another minute and immediately booked a flight for Paris. He needed to get to her, the only thing that keeps popping in his mind. He needed to see her.
He went back to the Vallardi estate and told his father about his plan. Someone must look after their businesses and since he’s leaving, only his father can replace him for the time being. When he saw his mother, he can see that she wanted to ask him what’s going on but she chose to keep her mouth shut and just smiled at him. “I wish you luck.” She said before leaving him alone to pack up.
When Yiran heard that her brother came home, she skipped her class and instantly went home to find. However, she found out that he was leaving for Paris again. “I didn’t know love could make someone lose their composure and become silly.” She commented and stepped out of the mansion. She didn’t want to see her brother leave but she knew he had to. ‘Bro, you can bring her home next time.’ She said through their mental link and left to go back to her class. For her brother’s happiness, she will try her best to get along with Serina.
The only question left is, would Serina accept him again?
Back to Paris, Serina closed off anyone from contacting her, both through phones and mental link. Damon couldn’t get a hold of her so he decided to check on her inside her dorm room. He knew it was a bad thing because he’s a man intruding a woman’s privacy but he really wanted to know what was wrong with her. They didn’t have to talk, just knowing she’s alive would be fine for him.
Even her father was no exception. He couldn’t reach his daughter at all. Although he knew that she’d be fine, he still couldn’t stop himself from worrying. Natalya was also worried after knowing that Serina was back but was refusing to talk to anyone. She tried reaching out to her but she reached an empty space instead.
Serina was sitting on her bathroom floor, hugging her knees close as she rocked her body slowly to comfort herself. She didn’t know that Nicholas ignoring her would be this bad. She wasn’t prepared for this at all. She was prepared for his rejection after knowing her feelings but she didn’t expect him to ignore her before she can say a thing.
‘Rina, everything will be fine. Trust me. I really have this feeling that you are meant for him.’
“If I am, he wouldn’t be ignoring me. If I am, he should be feeling the same way. For a moment, when he hugged me, I really thought we’re fated for each other but no, we’re not. It was a delusion in my part. All this time, I was the only one thinking that there could be a future for us. He didn’t feel that way.”
‘Don’t be so quick to judge him. He must have been facing a problem.’
“Yeah? A huge problem that he can’t even send a single message or call? Just what kind of problem could it be? It’s the ignoring-me-problem.” Her tears fell on her knees but she didn’t try to wipe them. She just allowed herself to have the freedom of crying behind everyone’s back. She poured out her negative emotion in every drop of her tears. “After this, just give me this time, I will be back to normal. I know I can’t force things out with him so, I’ll just let things go and start anew tomorrow.”
Outside her bathroom, Damon was sitting on the floor with his cat form. His red eyes were glowing as he stared at the huge door, listening to Serina talk. He felt bad for her but he knew he wasn’t the man that she needed. Comforting her is fine but falling deeper for her isn’t fine. He knew he loves her because of her compassionate character, something that wasn’t present in him but she’s not his mate. He could tell that she isn’t. Loving her would only make things more complicated.
Knowing that she’s fine and was strong enough to overcome this hurdle, Nicholas left her room without even letting her know of his presence but didn’t mean her dragon has no idea, too. From the moment he set his foot inside her room, Brittislava knew that Damon was there.
‘Rina, trust me.’ Brittislava told her and it was funny because she had been lying to her about her purpose. ‘Everything will be fine. At the same time, it’s your choice to make.. I just hope you won’t regret it.’
