Serina: The Alpha’s Mate - Chapter 81
Weekend came and Damon arrived to prove his word. He picked Serina from school and brought her to a desolate area where he usually practice knew magic chants. There were no other people aside from the two of them and it was so bleak that you’d think you’ve arrived in another world.
“This is my secret place. You are the first person that I ever brought here.” Damon stated while the two of them stood in the middle of the wrecked village. “This is a good battle ground. We can practice here.”
“I can use any magic I know?”
“Yes. Use everything on me but make sure you know how to undo it incase you’d hit me.”
“Sure. I’m always prepared if that happens.”
“Then, let’s start with you trapping me. If you can trap me without getting closer for more than five meters, you won.”
“Okay.” Serina answered and watched Damon moved to ten meters away from her in just a blink of an eye. “Is that fare for you to move like that?”
“Vampires move really quickly.”
“Fine. I know that.” She replied while gathering the energy around her. The wind picked up and it was blowing a little stronger than normal. The trees swayed left and right as leaves rustled from the strong breeze
Serina lifted her hand and without saying anything, she pointed her finger towards Damon. A towering flame appeared in front of him and it divided into two. Damon moved from one spot to another using his teleportatio skill. At the same time, Serina trie to read his move to make sure she’d be able to attack him. The two pillars of fire slowly fade until only one was left. It followed Damon’s movement and wherever he goes, the fire followed him.
“You can’t trap me like this.” Damon confidently answered while moving away from Serina.
“Don’t be so smug.” She said and she waved her other hand, allowing the second pillar of fire to appear behind Damon. The fire spread quickly on both sides until he was encased inside it. “Is this consider my win?”
“Well, I concede in this round. Now, if ever you’d catch your enemies like this, what will you do?”
“I can burn them. I am very good at it.”
“Don’t understimate the rogue vampires and the person who made them. She’s very powerful.”
“You know that she’s a woman?”
“That’s all I know when I caught a glimpse of her. Unless…unless she’s working for somebody else.”
Serina waved her hand and the flames caging Damon disappeared. “Vampires killing people or vampires creating chaos, is that something that always happens here in Europe? Because I noticed that people are no longer afraid when this kind of news circulates around.”
“People knew that vampires and werewolves exist. They don’t know much about dragons and other species. At the same time, when vampires feed, normal and sane vampires I mean, they don’t kill their victims. They only charmed them and sometimes even gave pleasures to them.”
“How about you? How do you get your food?”
“I’m an elite vampire. I’m next to the royalty. I rarely go out and feed on humans in the city. I have people I trusted who are willing to give me their blood.”
Serina listened without saying much, just getting information about vampires because there were things she couldn’t find in books like vampire rankings.
“How do you guys rank vampires?”
Damon circled Serina and released a binding magic. She was bound by an invisible force that Damon summoned. “Dragons are good with spells. If you can break out from this, I will tell you the information you neee.”
“Tsk! Sneaking an attack is not nice.” Serina mumbled but Damon didn’t let go of her. ‘Brittislava, help me see the magic around me. I need to get out of this.’
‘Got it.’
Serina’s eyes were dark because of the gloomy atmosphere and the bleak surrounding but when Brittislava lent her power, her eyes turned golden brown and she could see the runes that bound her.
“I’m giving you two minutes in case you are not familiar with this binding magic.”
“Two minutes? That’s very short.”
“Dear, vampires won’t even give you that time to get out of their magic. You have to break out as fast as you can or stop them before the magic is completed.”
“Fine.”
In this way, Serina and Damon spent most of their time training together. Sometimes, she’d go out right after her last class and return before curfew time.
She already canceled a lot of eat out with Natalya anf Corrine because of this. But for her, getting Corrine’s voice was the most important thing in her mind.
Damon attack her in full speed and with his magic, and she has to defend herself and make a counter attack to do damage.
After several days of training, she finally mastered how to unbind the magic that damon used to bind her and even stop before he could complete his spell.
And since Serina specializes in casting fire, Damon helped her experiments to create new fire spells.
Aside from the fire pillar, canon fireball, fire cage and firebullets, Serina created a spell called sun. She didn’t know how much damage this could make but seeing Damon hiding away from it, she thought it must be very destructive. It was different from the other spells she has. Sun was created while thinking of the sun of our solar system, the gas present in this huge ball of fire and the radiation that comes with it. Of course, she cannot create another sun but she tried making a mini replica of it.
“Why don’t we try fighting real vampires?” Serina suggested which stunned Damon for a second there. “Just few of them, I guess.”
“I don’t agree.”
“How would we know if I can fight if we won’t engage in a real fight?” This question was reasonable and made Damon think she was right. “How about it?”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Come on. This training will be useless.”
“Got it. Got it.” Damon sighed and looked at her. “I’ll have someone investigate if there are places being attacked by vampires. If there is, I’ll take you right away.”
“It would be better if I don’t have class during that time.” Serina reminded him. “Shall we go back home? I want to rest a little.”
Damon nodded his head and the two of them exited the place using his teleportation magic. The two of them walked out of the alley near the bookstore that they like.
The two of them separated their ways. Little did they know, Natalya and Corrine saw the two of them.
“Where did the two of them come from?” Natalya asked and Corrine shook her head because she had no idea either.
‘Why are they together?’ Corrine thought to herself while watching Serina smile to Damon and left. The two separated their ways.
“Let’s go and check with Rina.” Natalya pulled her but Corrine didn’t budge at all. “You don’t want to know?”
“We have a secret of our own. I don’t want to interfere so much with her life even if we are considered sisters now. As for Damon, as long as he won’t show up in front of me or do something related to me, I don’t mind.”
Natalya sat back on her chair and nodded her head. “I see. If you say so.” She picked up her book and regarded Corrine through the edges of it. She couldn’t read her expression and she couldn’t find anything from her thoughts either. “Damon and Rina are friends.” She said for no reason. Probably, she wanted Corrine to have a peace of mind with Damon and Serina’s pure friendship.
“I know that.”
Not only the two of them were affected by these sudden training that Damon and Serina have. Even Nicholas was worried. He asked Kiro several times to check on Serina but his wolf couldn’t get in touch with her.
“I have called her several times but she didn’t answer. She shouldn’t be having a class now. It’s night time there already.” Nicholas told Kiro, pacing back and forth in his room while holding his phone with Serina’s number reflecting on it.
‘Maybe she’s at the library.’
“Lambert said she’s not there. Her room was locked, too.”
‘Have you contacted Natalya or Corrine?’
“The two of them said that Rina was busy over something but they didn’t know what it was.”
‘She’s not up to something dangerous, is she?’
“I don’t think so.” Nicholas said. “I don’t think she’s careless.”
Nicholas and Kiro sighed altogether. Both of them couldn’t contact her and didn’t know what else to do. If they leave to find her personally, his father would be left to deal things on his own. There’s the issue of his mother’s health as well. She’s getting weak each day.
“Kiro, shall we tell mom about what we know?”
‘Do you trust she wouldn’t betray us? You know she suffered so much but our mate didn’t do anything to her at all. If our mother wants revenge, what shall we do?’
“We’ll do our best to protect Rina.”
‘Does that include harming our family?’
“I think I’ll talk to Rina about this first.”
‘You’ll go and talk to her without preamble? She’d be shocked. And if she knows the history between us and the dragon, wouldn’t she try to avoid us. If she didn’t know yet and we’d tell her, she’d probably run off out of fear.’
The two of them sank in silence once again.. They were both lost as to what they should do to save both women.
