Serina: The Alpha’s Mate - Chapter 96
Instead of studying like what she said, Sofia found herself reading the books of spells inside her room once again. At first, she thought that the spells were applicable for vampires only but she was actually able to use them with the help of Elder Alina. Last time, she was having difficulty when teleporting from one place to another, draining so much energy with very little distance she could cover. Now, she can move from one place to another without using so much energy and it was quite some distance in between. ‘No wonder Damon has an easy time moving to different places.’ Serina thought while reading.
Although she wasn’t studying anything academic when she reaches her room, she made sure to review her notes whenever she could in school and cafeteria. She didn’t want her parents to think that she had been wasting away her time with some other things.
Amidst her busy schedule, Serina was still happy because Nicholas brought her snacks and desserts that she could eat while studying. Just like last time, he’d ask Lambert to bring the snacks to her. In that way, people will think she just got them from a friend. He didn’t want to add up to the rumor that she’s flirting outside the campus.
Just like today, she got muffins from him. Of course, she shared some with Lambert.
This time, she’s reading about a spell of using nature to attack someone. Gripping vines, boulder cage, ice arrow, and so on. She couldn’t experiment them inside the campus so, Elder Alina brought her to the dragon village once again.
“How about you try sparring with me. Use everything you have to attack me.” Elder Alina stated and Serina agreed without any hesitation. It’s good thing that you have someone you can compare notes with.
In the blink of an eye, Alina disappeared in front of her and moved behind her. She was about to attack when Serina, who didn’t even look behind, summoned energy coming from the earth and created a huge boulder as shield.
Elena’s attack was blocked. “You can sense someone’s attack now?”
“I’ve been practicing this detection skill.” Serina commented before firing fire spears to the woman. She was relentless, firing again and again as if she was a bottomless pit of energy.
Elena blocked and threw several attacks from her as well. Her focus was on Serina’s attack and she didn’t notice the spatial magic that Serina created. Behind Alina was a huge portal and it was connected to the portal beside Serina. She placed her hand inside and it came out behind the elder. Not wasting anymore second, she grabbed her collar and pulled the elder beside.
Elder Alina was disoriented for a moment. She was in a daze when she saw Serina’s inches before her. “How?”
“Oh. I learned this magic from the book as well. Apparently, you can attack someone using a spatial magic. Some vampires should be able to do this. Although, I have this feeling that it won’t affect us in our dragon form. Unless – ”
“Unless wha?”
“Unless they create a huge portal that a dragon could fit in.”
“That makes sense.” Alina agree as Serina let go of her. “How about we ask few more people to practice with you.”
“That’s a great idea.” Serina agreed and looked forward to it. With that, she spent two hours in the dragon village practicing her magic and attack skills. She learned a lot during the short amount of time and she was thankful to everyone who helped her.
Unlike before when she was ostracized and looked down upon, the villagers were treating her gently and warmly now. Every time she visits their place, the children would welcome her warmly and the other elders will make some snacks for her. Sadly, she didn’t eat much of their cooking because she likes the pastries that Nicholas made for her.
After two hours, Serina went back to her dorm room and showered. She was sweaty from her magic practice and she needed to rest as well.
Meanwhile, Nicholas was formulating a plan to save Serina from other werewolves who were looking for her. Because of her recent battles with the rogue vampires, her energy traces were everywhere. Damon tried to remove her traces but he couldn’t completely erase them since her power was beyond his control. All he could do was to deflect them and place them to different places where no one can trace it back to her.
However, it won’t stay like this forever. Surely, time will come for her identity to be exposed. If that really happened, Nicholas needed to be prepared to fight off everyone who will harm her.
What his father knew was that he was monitoring the dragon princess while also looking for a way to save his mother. What he didn’t know was the fact that his son was actually trying to divert everyone’s attention. Although, it was true that he was looking for some ways to cure his mom.
“Shall I ask her if she has any knowledge about the dragons? If I tell her that the Luna of Blue Moon Pack needs help to lift the curse, would she allow it?” Nicholas murmured to himself. The last time they met each other, she was restless and worried. He wondered what he could do to make her feel at ease around him. Sometimes, he’s jealous of his own wolf because Serina was more honest with Kiro compared to him.
The next day, Serina felt bored at home and felt tired going to school as well. The teachers have been throwing review classes for the upcoming exam and she started to hate it. They have been repeating a lot of items and she was tired hearing them.
Lambert was happy with the review but seeing Serina’s face, he felt a little apprehensive as well. “You are not thinking of ditching the class, right?” He asked in whisper while pretending to be writing something on his notebook.
“I’ll go somewhere in the afternoon, help me make some excuse.”
“Where are you planning to go?”
“I’m going to meet with Corrine.”
“Oh. I see. Sure. I’ll make up an excuse for you.”
As they conversed, one of their female classmates who hated Serina heard their conversation. Her eyes twinkled in merriment as an evil plan came to her mind. She pulled out her phone and excused herself to take an emergency call from her parents.
In truth, she called someone she knew from another school who was known to be a headache of teachers and the fear of students. He’s been skipping school to hang out with other thugs in the city. They don’t do huge crimes but when money do the talking, they won’t hesitate to fulfill the client’s wishes.
Serina’s classmate came from a well-known family. Her father was a businessman and her mother was a fashion designer. She’s even called princess by some of their classmates but Serina and Lambert called her by her last name. It was fine with Serina but she didn’t like Lambert to do the same. She even told him to call her first name but contrary to her expectation, Lambert continued to call her last name. The only person that he called by first name was Serina. And this made the woman hate Serina the most.
She sent Serina’s picture to the delinquent and told him to take care of Serina properly, to make sure that she won’t be able to come to school in the next two weeks. After making the deal, she went back to class and pretended to be the most innocent person in class.
She looked towards Lambert but aside from paying attention to class, he was only paying attention to whatever Serina talked about. Instead of getting angry and jealous, she only picked up her pen and started writing with a smile on her lips.
As soon as the bell rang, an indication that the class ended and it was time for lunch, Serina grabbed her things and arranged them inside her bag. She waved her hands at Lambert and left the classroom to meet with Corrine. She was planning to surprise her since they haven’t seen each other for over a week already and she was alone because Natalya wasn’t home either.
The moment she left, many female students walked towards Lambert and even invited him for lunch but her refused to be with them. Instead of eating lunch at the cafeteria, he went back to his dorm room and cook a simple lunch. It’s better to eat alone instead of eating with pretentious people.
“Do you guys think that he likes Serina?”
“That can’t be possible. It’s more like Serina has seduced him.”
“But if he didn’t like her, why would he spend so much time with her instead of his other classmates or the other boys. I think he likes her.”
“Like I said, Serina seduced him.”
“How can you be so sure about that?”
Because of this argument, another rumor started to spread. One was about Serina seducing Lambert and the other was about Lambert falling for Serina.. Either way, none of them was true but many contemplated and started to believe it.
