“Oppa1, it’s all done,” Gunwoo’s makeup artist announced.
Gunwoo, after he put on the new outfit and the make up was done, walked out. The first thing he did was to make sure Heju was still on the set. One of the conditions he insisted on was that Heju had to stay on the set the entire time. Knowing she had no other choice, Heju sat on one of the seats and remained quiet. Her face was tense. With an odd smile, Gunwoo walked up to her and asked teasingly,
“What’s wrong? Why do you look so unhappy?”
“…You should get up to the stage right now. The director is waiting for you,” Heju replied.
“I just have one last scene to finish. I’ll be back soon.
Putting on a blank face, Gunwoo turned around and headed towards the stage. He had been working for the past fourteen hours straight. Finally, the shoot was just about to finish up.
Watching Gunwoo working like a true professional, Heju sighed deeply. He was acting like nothing had happened. In the past, he had never missed work. Even when he had the worst hangover or was severely sick, he never canceled anything on his schedule.
So when he pulled this stunt recently, the CEO of their agency was confused and furious. Why was their most popular actor doing this all of a sudden? When Heju was asked this question, she couldn’t answer her boss.
‘I’ll record the ad tomorrow and even go to Hong Kong to honor the other contract. But you’ll have to come with me to Hong Kong. And when I’m done all of my work, promise me you’ll have sex with me. If you agree to this, I’ll do my job.’
Remembering Gunwoo’s words, Heju became pale again. Her brain couldn’t process what he had suggested. How could he ask her to have sex with him?
That day, all she could do was blink when he said those words. With a seductive smile, Gunwoo held her chin lightly and leaned forward. He promised her,
‘If you swear you’ll have sex with me, I’ll even complete the rest of my schedule too.’
‘Why should I do that?’ Heju had asked him.
‘You don’t have to. You can just give up on me then. I don’t care if I quit being an actor. Whatever,’ replied Gunwoo with a nonchalant shrug.
Heju knew his family situation very well. Gunwoo was from a rather wealthy family, so this wasn’t an empty threat by any means. When he gave her such a confident smile, she felt like she was suffocating.
Unlike him, Heju came from nothing. For the past nine years, she had worked from the very bottom of this industry. She clawed her way up to the top. Her starting position in this agency was a manager for the stars, but essentially, she worked as their slaves. Her official duty was to maintain these celebrities’ schedules, but she had to do everything for them, including often taking their emotional and verbal abuses. Her job had always been keeping her clients happy, which took such a huge emotional toll on her.
But finally, she was at the top. Heju’s life had just become a little easier, but now, Gunwoo was ruining everything. She felt torn, unable to decide what was the right thing for her to do. Sleeping with her own client was such a big no-no, but if Gunwoo really was serious about his threat and stopped working, her career could be over. She might really have to quit her job.
That day in the hospital, Heju asked him,
‘You really wanna have sex with me? Are you serious?’
Gunwoo nodded emphatically. She couldn’t tell if he wanted to sleep with her because he really liked her, or because he was simply horny. Heju couldn’t read his mind, so with a forced smile, she asked him,
‘Guess you’re confident you can satisfy me?’
‘I guess you’ll find out after we do it. There’s a good chance it might be you who begs me to sleep with you again.’
‘Fine. The shoot is tomorrow at 7 o’clock in the morning. I’ll meet you at the set at…’
‘No. Come to my house with Sungchan tomorrow morning. I want to get there with you,’ Gunwoo had insisted.
Remembering their conversation that day, Heju sighed deeply. He had smiled when she agreed to come to this set with him. It seemed that he took that as a yes to his offer.
“Haa…” Heju couldn’t stop sighing. Her mouth became drier and drier by the minute. They were also staying at the same hotel, so there was no way she could avoid him. When she looked up to see Gunwoo in a gorgeous wine-color suit, her heart began to beat wildly. The way he acted that day was so unfamiliar yet seductive that she felt confused and a little excited at the same time.
“I’m going to lose my mind…,” Heju murmured.
“Chief!” Sungchan called her name suddenly.
With a flinch, she turned around to find Gunwoo’s manager handing her something. When she took the box and look up at him in confusion, Sungchan explained,
“Gunwoo asked me to give this to you while he’s filming. He said you should bring it when you meet him later.”
“Okay,” Heju replied blankly.
Sungchan left her to help Gunwoo, and after a short contemplation, Heju opened the box. When she saw what it was, her face tensed.
“That jerk!”
Her face red, she began panting angrily as she threw the box away to the nearby garbage can. Gunwoo, who was watching her from the set, smiled wickedly.
