She Was Both Called God, as Well as Satan - CH 81
Chapter 81 – Love
In a certain corner of the world—once ravaged by war, now peaceful—a small funeral is being held.
It was the funeral of a certain man.
He was the hero that fought against the world’s “common sense” that pervaded the world during his time.
Sometimes he was ridiculed, other times he was considered a hero, but he kept fighting to realize his dream.
And, in the end, he realized his dream.
In cooperation with the Republic of Sages, he managed to develop a new type of Homunculi, ones capable of sentience, and was successful in spreading them throughout the world.
As a result, people were able to realize the potential of Homunculi.
He successfully revived the “bond between Humanity and Homunculi” that was lost in prehistory.
Having accomplished his goal, he lies peacefully in a large coffin.
His large coffin is quietly lowered into a hole dug in the ground.
People grieve and shed tears over his brave death.
However, his partner, Katamimi, was not among them.
Several days have passed since the man’s coffin was buried.
His eyes have sunken in, and the stench of decay is slowly permeating his body.
In the dark, “something” moved inside the coffin, where not even a single ray of light shone.
The “something” slowly stood up, staring at the man’s face within the darkness.
That “something” was Katamimi.
When her master died, she asked his bereaved family to have her buried with him.
The man’s family was puzzled by her request, however they sought to honor her wish.
They did so in accordance with the man’s last will and testament.
In his will, he wrote,
“Please take care of Katamimi according to her wishes.”
In accordance with the will, the family decided to prepare a large custom-made coffin.
Just before the burial, Katamimi was placed in the prepared casket and buried with him.
Katamimi already was low on magical power.
Every joint in her body was creaking, and she could not move freely.
She slowly covered her body with his and pressed her lips to his.
It was Katamimi’s first kiss.
It was also her last.
With the kiss in place, Katamimi slowly closed her eyes.
In her vision, a warning notified her that her magic power was running low.
The warning gradually faded away, and eventually the insignia of the Republic of Sages filled her vision.
At that moment, Katamimi ceased to function.
The two continued to sleep, kissing each other in their shared coffin.
They continued to lie quietly, undisturbed, and untouched.
They sight of them was the very essence of “love” itself.
