She’s That Knight Known As Zero - Chapter 299
“Why don’t you sit down?” Raven pulled her down as he knew she was starting to feel weak with all the anger they are throwing her.
“It’s fine,” she shook her head, despite indeed feeling weak, she’d rather stand than sit. For she might feel weaker by then.
Seeing this Raven instead held her hand, to her surprise. But the warmth coming from his hand gave her strength somehow.
“I didn’t want to play with your emotions brother. Did you think I can see the future? The only reason it was sent to me was because you made your choice. I have no idea what your choice will be.”
“I can plan, I can fight, I can train and all but I can never see the future. I have no idea how all of you will think, I have no idea how all of you will react. All I know is that I wanted to remember everyone.”
“I already experienced the fact that I knew all of you but no one knows who I was. In a sea of familiar people I was alone. I don’t want to go over and over again to make all of you remember me. No to be more precise I have no power over that.”
“Mother and father have seen me first. Please do tell us, how did I look like when you first saw me?”
“Weak? Drenched in sweat? Tired?” Haruka gave an emotional answer.
She just then realized that Eureka must have went through an ordeal to actually remember them.
“When something comes to mind back then, when I would just suddenly remember a word or two, or just have a glimpse of a scene from my past. I would either tremble or have a headache. As if my head was being split into two.”
“The reason why I really couldn’t speak about it after that was because everything suddenly turned into a blur after waking up, as if it was a mosaic that I couldn’t decipher but instead it would only bring me pain.”
She can feel her hands tremble and felt how Raven held unto it tighter as if giving her more strength.
After taking a deep breath, she continued, “That is why I have no power to make all of you remember. I didn’t know about this when I made a choice and was actually grateful that I chose to forget instead.”
“I was in so much pain. I wanted to remember all of you no matter how much in pain I was. If you have seen me in that state, surely you wouldn’t let me remember anything at all.”
“I felt like dying over and over again just as I tried to remember. I was after all defying a natural law. That is why I was glad I didn’t give any of you the letter.”
She looked straight at Rino’s eyes, “I am someone who cared so much for all of you that things like playing with your emotions are not something I wanted to do.”
“I took everything into consideration before doing something. I am indeed selfish but my selfishness also includes all of your well being. I wanted all of you to live and have a peaceful life.”
Tears have finally dropped from her eyes, “I wanted all those innocent people to live and be happy, not because I am acting like a hero. But because I myself didn’t get the chance to live with my family like normal.”
“I cared so much for this world because I saw the other world that was on the brink of destruction. It was lonely and painful, this world does not need to be like that. Even without you noticing it, you would still be affected by the deaths of the innocent ones.”
“That’s why I didn’t want to kill Juzo. But did you really think that me without using Reset would really live?”
She knew this was the main reason they were mad. That she must have used Reset knowing full well that she might die.
“If I killed him, I could still die. For in reality despite my training, the power inside me were opposing ones. Sooner or later it might explode… no not sooner or later but with my usage of power to kill or to seal Juzo, I would surely explode.”
She felt pain when Raven’s hand held unto hers even tighter. She could only hold his hand with her other hand to calm him down.
“I already told you I was selfish, Reset was not only to allow the others to live again but also to remove the abilities inside me. I actually scarificed all of your abilities knowing full well that it will also disappear.”
For the first time after she started her speech, everyone was already looking at her.
“That is why I wished for a world without abilities. Because I really didn’t want to die.”
This is also one of the greatest help the almighty one have given her, he allowed her to be saved by Zu and Ao. If she were to survive the Reset but remained here where abilities were no longer there then surely she would still die.
The world where Zu and Ao actually had the healing ability, this ability could heal physical damages. But the damage in her body was too great and the disappearance of such strong abilities left her in a coma state.
“What more do I have to do to make all of you understand? It was the circ.u.mstances that didn’t allow me to really have a choice. Not because I wanted to but because this is all I can do.”
“Was everything not yet enough?” her question was so pained that they could no longer look her in the eye.
She didn’t want to really say all of these. She was planning on keeping it a secret until the end. But seeing that all of them were still unwilling to forgive her. She could only reveal everything.
She didn’t speak any longer after her question, her tears also stopped. She stood there looking at the table instead of any of them, when she felt a tug in her sleeve.
Looking towards it, Hikari was already standing beside her, “It’s more than enough elder sister. You’ve done more than enough, please rest now.”
Eureka could only bit her lower lip upon hearing it. She knelt down as Raven let her hand go. Before she gave Hikari a hug, “Was it really enough?”
Mutsumi once asked her when she found out about her blindness, ‘Haven’t you done enough?’
To which she replied, ‘It’s not yet enough’.
Yet who would have thought that years from then she would be asking the same question to all of them? Though it has a bit of difference the questions were the same.
“Yes, it’s more than enough. It’s more than enough,” Hikari repeated as she too started crying.
She might be an understanding child but there are still things she don’t understand and one of them was the fact that they were angry at her elder sister.
Haruka and Akihiro stood up from their seats and went over to hug their two daughters.
“It is more than enough,” Haruka said as well.
“Yes, it is,” Akihiro added.
Feena and the others started feeling guilty, they knew why she said those things last. It was because she wasn’t planning on making them feel guilty but instead she wanted them to understand her decisions.
It just so happens that they were blinded by the roller coaster ride of emotions that they didn’t see what she wanted them to see.
Raven remained silent, he was not looking at them either. He knew it will just pressure them if he did. But he also knew that they were no longer angry at her.
After a few moment, Akihiro, Haruka and Yukimura together with Hikari decided to leave them be.
Yukimura nodded towards her and gave her a pat in the shoulder with a smile on his face. Eureka could only thank him from his reaction.
Then the whole inner hall fell silent with a few sobs being heard.
Eureka was now sitting beside Raven.
“You didn’t tell me about that,” he then said as no one was speaking.
“I didn’t want to tell it either. I wanted to keep it until the end. But I was already emotionally disturbed and feeling wronged that I just blurted it out,” she whispered in return.
The others saw their exchange but no one heard what they were talking about.
“How am I supposed to face you now? After what I said?” finally Rino opened his mouth and asked looking at Eureka.
“The same as before? I didn’t say the last part to make you all feel guilty or anything. I was just feeling so bad that I wanted all of you to understand me,” she explained as she look at each of them.
She sighed and stood up, before walking around the table and arriving beside Karen.
“Stop crying now, I am sorry for everything. But you have to understand that you are carrying a child. You must not be too emotionally disturbed or it would be bad for the two of you,” she then reached out a handkerchief.
