She’s That Knight Known As Zero - Chapter 302
He was carrying a bunch of books as he walk down the hallway. His glasses are about to fall off his nose but he couldn’t nudge it up for his hands were full.
He has orange hair with imperial topaz eyes. His arms were thin and his body was slim. He was tall, girls only reached his chin and his facial features were extra ordinary if it is not hidden.
He could already be considered perfect, except…
*BLAG*
Someone collided with him and all the books he was carrying were scattered on the floor. He himself couldn’t keep his balance and could only fall in his butt.
His face contorted and he could only grimace after the impact of the fall. He didn’t dare look angrily at the person who “accidentally” bump onto him.
Without looking up he started fixing the scattered books.
“Such a weakling. A slight push and you already fall on your butt. Are you really the child of your parents?”
What followed was their laughter, he still didn’t look up and kept his eyes cast down.
This was already a normal routine to him. Bullying? Might be, but because of his background these people didn’t dare go over board.
“Why do you always let them do as they please?”
Another hand came and help him on the scattered papers, other than the books, the papers that was in the middle also went flying after the collision.
“What for? It might just escalate if I went against them. Plus its a waste of time, they were not even courageous enough to be excessive because of my background,” he replied as he stood up.
The one who helped him was another young man, both of them are 16 year old youths. The young man have Red Orange hair, which he inherited from his father and brown eyes which he inherited from his mother.
“Yo, your glasses went flying quite a distance,” another man approached them and handed him his glasses.
This young man was of the same age. His hair was blue and his eyes were a lighter color of blue. He was a few inches taller than the other two.
“Thanks,” he replied as he put back his glasses. His bangs already blocking half his eyes.
After seeing the two youths, girls started giggling with each other. It is well known that within the academy, there are a group of students of varying age who were children of the pillars who spearheaded the greatest war.
And among the group was these three. It just so happens that the glasses youth have no desire of showcasing his looks, hiding behind his hair.
The other two waved at this girls just as the glasses youth walked away from the scene. He really has no desire for such attention. He just wanted to keep studying and becoming much more knowledgeable.
“Hey, Keitaro, wait up,” the one who helped him first called out as the two of them chased him.
“Geez, if you just try to socialize more, surely those people will recognize you as one of the best. Adding to the fact that if you just cut your hair and remove your glasses. You would be the number one youth in this academy,” after reaching him, the one who returned his glasses commented.
“I have no desire of such things Haruto,” Keitaro replied indifferently.
“Waah, did you hear that Touma?” Haruto looked at the man with red orange hair in disbelief.
“Stop that will you? Keitaro had always been like this. I think that this trait of his parents didn’t add up but instead multiplied on him,” Touma amusedly said as he took some books from Kaito.
“Stop defending him just because he’s your cousin,” Haruto complained as he too took some of the books Keitaro was holding.
Keitaro just shrugged as the three of them continued on their way.
The academy was once composed almost only by magic ability users.
After the Reset, it became open to all. The training areas, which were Physical and Magic training areas became close combat and long range training areas.
Keitaro, dreams of becoming a knight just like his parents, the only down side is the fact that he has difficulty using the swords. Adding to the fact that he was a bit on the weak side, that became the point of bullying from the other students.
“I’m home,” he tiredly said as he enter the house.
The afternoon was the most difficult for him, it was after all focused more on their training. And sparring was the normal way, it just so happens that he was paired up with a bully. Defending became even more difficult for him.
He sluggishly went to the dining table, his arrival was just on time for his mother have already cooked for dinner.
“Go and wash first, I still have some dishes that was not yet finished cooking. I think that you will be needing that long bath before eating,” his mother said seeing his tired look as she handed him a glass of water.
“Thanks mom,” he accepted the glass and drank it in one go. He then stood up and went to have a bath.
Seeing his tired looking face, his father and mother looked at each other worriedly.
Keitaro was able to regain most of his energy after taking that warm bath his mother have suggested. And after eating a whole lot during dinner, he felt even more energized.
While digesting everything he had eaten, he went out the garden to swing his sword.
‘I guess I really need to increase the time I used in exercising, that is the only way for me to become better.’
“Hey kid, can I have a moment?”
As he was in a deep thought, he heard his father’s voice calling out to him.
The two sat at the table and chair in the garden, the moon shinning down brightly at them.
“I think, you should give up the sword,” his father went straight to the point.
He was shocked as he stare at his father, this is the first time his father said such words to him ever since he started studying at the academy. Even his elder brother was using the sword.
Does this mean that his father wanted him to give up being a knight?
“You scared him Raven,” another voice came from inside.
Raven then seemed to realize what he had said, he looked back and smiled.
“Then you should come and speak with him Eureka.”
Eureka shook her head as she placed down two cups of tea on the table.
“You’re the father.”
After saying those words she went back inside. Keitaro was then confused by the exchange between his parents.
Raven looked at him and smiled, “I guess my choice of words were wrong. What I wanted to say is that, give up the sword and use another weapon.”
Keitaro looked down at his cup, “B- But I wanted to be like you and mom.”
Raven shook his head, “People have completely forgotten about one thing from the past.”
Keitaro looked up and watched his father sip from his cup, unconsciously he followed him.
“We know, your mother and I, that you are having so much difficulties right now. The pressure our names have on you. And we apologize for that.”
Keitaro shook his head, “The pressure will always be there, but brother and I have decided that we will overcome it and show everyone that we are worthy of being your children. I am not blaming you or my blood for what I am experiencing right now.”
Raven couldn’t help but to ruffle his hair.
“What did the people forget then dad?” Keitaro returned to the topic after fixing his hair.
“They have forgotten who it was that truly taught your aunt Nana and uncle Theo, how to use the bow and arrow.”
“You knew who it was father? They never told us, Uncle Rino and the others would only smile and not say a word. We really were curious who it was,” Keitaro’s eyes went wide upon hearing this.
It brighten up as well, his curiosity was piqued.
Raven chuckled, “You do know that teacher as well.”
Keitaro became even more confused.
They heard foot steps coming from behind, when they looked back they saw Eureka coming over with bow and arrows on her arms.
The bow length was 62 inches and the draw length was 22-24 inches. It was silver in color, but it was purely made of wood.
Keitaro looked at his mother before looking back at his father, “Mother?”
Upon blurting it out, Eureka was already beside him.
“Why don’t you give it a try? We specially asked the creator of this bow to match you perfectly,” Eureka explained as she handed him the bow and arrow.
Keitaro who was still shocked could only accept it, it was not that heavy and it felt just right for him.
“Take your position and take a deep breath. Focus on your target and relax, don’t be too tense. The more tensed you are the more it would be difficult for you to hit your target. It is not entirely about the strength but the condition of your surroundings as well.”
Eureka started explaining things to him, as he position himself and focused on what his mother was saying.
