Shinobi System In Elemental Nation - Chapter 32
Masaki leapt away into the foliage, and Anzu had five clones encircling Yamato in an instant. The clones acted just like Anzu would have at someone ignoring them – infuriated.
“Anzu keep sensei busy with the clones” Fuhaku
“Masaki start making traps in the forest with me” Fuhaku
“Anzu will not be able to fight with Yamato for a long time we will have to get the traps ready fast” Fuhaku said to Masaki and used shadow clone jutsu so that he can set up the traps faster
“Yamato probably knows that we are setting traps for him” Fuhaku thought
“Masaki you go and help Anzu with long ranged attacks” Fuhaku
Then Masaki started pelting him with kunai and shuriken he threw them precise and angled.
Yamato used his wood style to protect himself from the kunai.
“Shit, I can’t use my sharingan and my jutsu on him” Fuhaku thought
Anzu was distracting Yamato with her jutsu.
“You two alone can’t take the bells from me” Yamato
“You shouldn’t just stand there,” Yamato admonished cheerfully. “It makes you an easy target. Now, I’ve done Taijutsu and Ninjutsu, so I guess that leaves genjutsu for you.” The intrusion of chakra into my system was a nasty feeling, sharp and biting, and I removed it even before it took hold and I saw what he wanted me to see. It was strong, and took a lot of concentration to get rid of but I had the advantage of being able to differentiate between my chakra and his.
“This childish genjutsu won’t work on me” Fuhaku
“What’s the point of thus test?” Anzu
“This test is to see our team work” Fuhaku
“Your team work is good so you are all passed” Yamato
Masaki “Wait, what?”
[HIDDEN MISSION COMPLETED : 15K SYSTEM POINTS RECEIVED]
” In a real mission ‘failure’ often means death. In terms of a real mission the briefing might have gone ‘one of you will certainly die. All three of you might. What will you do?’. You couldn’t just back out of a mission because it was dangerous. Not without very good reason.”Yamato
“Yamato blinked slowly. “I purposely pitted you against each other. With only two bells, one of you was guaranteed to fail. The test was to see if you could overcome that for the sake of the mission. To see if you would work together or break apart. A Genin should have a natural feel for teamwork. Of course, you need individual skills, but teamwork is the most important element of a shinobi. When individuals put themselves above the squad, this can lead to failure. And death. On every mission, your life is on the line.”Yamato
“So,” Yamato said, turning to us, chasing the gloomy atmosphere away. “Now I’ve explained my part in the test, you get to explain yours.”
“What do you mean?” Masaki asked with a puzzled frown. “You just said. Our part was to work together.”
“Well, you must have had a plan, didn’t you? A reason why you attacked the way you did?”
Masaki chuckled sheepishly. “I just did what Fuhaku said.” He rubbed the back of his head.
Fuhaku “Anzu was the distraction. He was supposed to create an opening so I could go for the bells.”
Yamato nodded. “Rudimentary, but effective.” He turned to me. “Now why don’t you explain to your team mates the way you decided who would do what.”
“Why the straight out charge?”Yamato prompted. “Most kids would have tried to hide first.”
“Five reasons,”FuhakuI said holding up a finger. “We had to overcome you. There was no way we could get the bells by avoiding you.” A second finger. “You knew we were here, so we couldn’t attempt to surprise you and take you off guard.” A third finger. “Your tracking skills are much greater than our stealth abilities, so even trying to hide would have been pointless.” A fourth finger. “The clearing gave us more advantages than disadvantages because it allowed us to keep you in our sight. Masaki and I had traps spread through the trees in case you went that way.” The last finger. “And we were on a time limit. Hiding might have brought us time to plan, but we had no information on your capabilities so it was best to try something before retreating and trying for a second attempt.”
Masaki looked stunned. “You thought about all that? But you came up with the plan, like, right away!”
“Right,” Yamato cut him off. “I think that concludes our debriefing. Team eleven will start their first mission tomorrow. For now, we can all go home.”
