Side Story - Chapter 16
***
Rattle.
When Prillance opened her eyes to the presence next to her, she could not see Ver sitting on the opposite side.
“It’s better to look forward to it.”
At the same time, Ver’s voice came from her side, so, when Prillance turned her head, his firm shoulders and handsome face were nearby.
Then at that moment, the carriage rattled and Prillance’s body jumped up. Surprised, for a moment, her body quickly found stability because Ver had caught her.
“I don’t mind it.”
Ver frowned. The rattling of the carriage felt like an earthquake, but the hands of Prillance were full of strength. He scolded himself for failing to take into account her condition.
“Let’s go slowly.”
Ver, who told the horseman through a small window, then sat next to Prillance again.
“You’ll get better soon. Would you mind if I hold you?”
It was a cautious question. Ver’s hand touched her, wrapped and wandering, waiting for an answer.
“Then, please excuse me.”
Prillance, smiling softly at Ver’s behavior, leaned first cautiously. His presence was tensed at her touch. Clearly, she leaned on him less and more delicately.
Soon Ver’s hand touched her waist, too. His arms between the dresses were firm. She was nervous as well.
Conversely, Ver was cautious about her slender waist, feeling as if it would break with a little force. At that moment, the wagon shook again.
As a result, Prillance’s hand automatically grabbed Ver, and he also grabbed her around her hips making it wrapped around her waist. As a result, they suddenly found themselves in a form that touched hands and hands and their bodies in an interlock.
“Ah.”
Embarrassed, Prillance tried to pull out, but she couldn’t do that because Ver’s hold was stronger.
“I think it’s better if you hold onto it.”
He was talking to her, but in fact he didn’t want to miss it. He tried to feel more of her softness that touched him. And Ver turned his head trying not to be caught filling himself with self-interest in the name of Prillance. But a small smile lay on his face.
Prillance also conceded a little and leaned her head against him. But there was a slight blush on her face that Ver couldn’t see.
The wind blew gently from the open window. Only then did she begin to view her surroundings with the sense of security that came.
Prillance leaned on Ver, who was holding her firmly, and they looked out of the window together.
The green colorful world that came into their eyes was beautiful.
The slow-moving wagon reached their resting place late in the evening. It was arranged as quickly as it was already late, and each room was assigned.
Prillance was lying in the room. Rather than lying down, the expression sprawled seemed more appropriate. Even though she was leaning on Ver, and that made her psychologically stable, it still couldn’t prevent the motion sickness.
Tick Tock.
There was a knock on her weary room.
“Who is it?”
Her weak voice rang out.
“I’m coming in. ”
With a familiar voice, it was Ver who came into the room before she could come to him. At his visit, Prillance lifted herself up. He placed medicine down on a table on the side and helped her.
“Are you alright?”
Cecia used to get motion sickness quite often as a child, so Ver was well aware of which drugs worked. Of course, he was the first person to notice the state of Prillance today.
“Is it obvious?”
“It’s just because I have a lot of experience.”
Ver said softly to her, who was a little shy.
“It’s a good medicine for motion sickness.”
“Thank you.’”
Prillance drank carefully the medicine he had given her. It tasted a little bitter, but it was edible. The water he drank afterwards neutralized the bitter taste of the medicine.
“You’ll be fine after a nap.”
“But it’s a little sad that I can’t see it even though it’s a trip.”
The scenery looked similar to any other city in Europe that she saw in a documentary, and Prillance, who was quite excited about it, made an expression of regret. It was her first trip, officially speaking to no one.
“You can take a quick look at it even at night when you wake up.”
There’s not a lot of fire around, so it gets dark quicker than the city, but there are still places to look around.
Ver helped her lie down, telling her not to be disappointed. The touch was so so sweet.
“Just get well soon.”
Prillance had no choice but to nod her head with a red face, and now she felt even more nervous inside.
“I’ll be here until the Young Lady wakes up. ”
“No, you need to rest, too. I’ll go find you when I wake up.”
If Ver were to continue, her heart would not quit pounding that it would be too difficult to sleep.
“I’m fine.”
Not knowing how Prillance felt, Ver had no intention of doing what she said.
She eventually laid down to attempt to gain some sleep. However, as she pressured her eyes to sleep, she felt that all her nerves were concentrated on her hearing and became sensitive to the slightest sound he made.
Eventually, she gave up sleeping and looked back at him. Then, her eyes met Ver, who seemed surprised by her sudden action.
“Do you come to this town often?”
Thinking it was just his reaction that he thought she was sleeping, Prillance brought it up lightly.
“……Sometimes I stopped by when I was following the top.”
Ver, who answered like that, turned his head and took a breath for a while.
The top Ver speaks of would be the Royce family. There was always a Cecia in all of him. She felt a sense of bitterness. She knew it was inevitable, but she couldn’t soothe her regret.
“You must have wandered around a lot.“
All that Prillance could do was to pretend to be okay and fiddling with the topic.
“… Yes, it’s not a lot of fun.”
Ver looked at her silently and stood up.
“I’ll get some water for a moment.”
Before he went out, he pulled up the blanket a little, covered her, and quickly left.
It made him worry that Prillance might be reminded of an old feeling that was already an old story. After leaving the room, Ver stood in front of Prillance’s door for a while.
Lying in his head, he was a little distracted, and her thin neck line came to mind. Her soft hand touching the blanket was so flustering to him that he was awakened to my senses.
It was good to be attached to her, but it would be a mess. The important thing was that Prillance had no idea what he was doing.
“Haa…”
Ver covered his forehead with his hand with a deep sigh.
