Side Story - Chapter 8
“Recently, we’ve been conducting real-world training exercises to prepare for any situation. Just in case you don’t already know,” Ver said, sipping tea while sitting face-to-face with Jack in his office.
Ver always reported in after training was over.
It was an operational meeting under the guise of a training report. The meeting was about the direction of training and the investigation.
“How about your own work?”
“I haven’t found it yet either. So I’d like to approach another case. We have yet to find out who attacked Marquis Weiand. But if Count Alvin had intended to put everything on Marquis Weiand, as he said, there would certainly be clues left to infer the criminal who approached either Baron Luke or Baron Orphine.”
“Baron Luke or Baron Orphine.”
They had to leave evidence that people were in and out of the Marquis of Weiand, and they had to get someone to see it. It was to secretly create rumors. Nevertheless, the plan could allow the Marquis of Weiand to get information quickly.
There would have been no assumption of everything.
“It’s a good way for us to investigate.” It’s a way to trace back. Instead of wasting your time on the horse’s caretaker. It is better than that.
“I will share it with the investigators tomorrow.”
“I will leave it to you.”
After the public talk was over, they were silent for a while.
Perhaps because he got used to it, Jack and Ver were not uncomfortable. Marquis of Weiand was not as picky as he looked. That part resembled Prillance.

“I will escort you around. Don’t worry if you don’t see me.”
The knight that got off the carriage before we got to the appointment, and they are going to escort her out of sight. Prillance believes in him.
She headed to the front of the statue she had decided to meet with Ralph. It seems that Ralph had yet to arrive. Seeing the god of abundance with a basket, she threw out a coin and put her hands together neatly.
“Please, let things work out.” She remembered Ver’s face in her mind. A small smile developed on Prillance’s mouth just by thinking about him.
Ralph was looking at her. He thought that a pathetic coin game looked cute because she did it. He approached her.
The reason why his approaching steps stopped was because of the fierce energy released by someone. They intentionally spilled that he was watching.
‘You must have brought in an escort.’
Ralph, who remembered her mentioning her strict father the other day, decided to be careful.
“It’s an honor to see you again.”
Prillance, surprised by his voice, opened her eyes. “Nice to meet you.”
It was a little late after sweeping away her startled heart. He was dressed as neat as at the royal ball.
“Were you making a wish?” Ralph stood at a moderate distance, naturally making conversation.
“Yes, I was praying so that God would grant my wish.”
He laughed at her reply. However, the laughter sounded like ridicule, so her gaze reflexively turned to him. He quickly erased his expression.
“Isn’t it just a personification? I don’t believe in God because I have only lived in a terrible reality.”
“Ah.”
Only then did I understand his laughter. Because not everyone understood her beliefs.
“In addition, they said that curly hair is a symbol of the imperial family.”
She looked at the statue again. It looked like Lucio, the crown prince whom I saw at the royal ball.
“It’s just a story that I heard.”
He shrugged his shoulders as if it were a trivial story, and she agreed a little.
“The sunlight is strong, so do you want to go inside somewhere?”
“Oh, I came out with a parasol because I wanted to walk since I haven’t been able to in a while. I heard that there is a pretty park nearby if you don’t mind.”
It was the method she chose as she didn’t want to be in a confined space with him, a person she didn’t know well. He then opened that small parasol that she brought with her, pretending not to know. Of course, Ralph recognized her heart. However, he speculated that her intentions were more refined, and not because of fear. There is no need to be impatient yet.
“Shall we go then?” He pretended to be a gentleman and trembled.
“By the way, the thing you mentioned about last time, can you tell me more? I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited.”
Prillance asked questions by wrapping it up to look like curiosity about an unfamiliar place. It gave Ralph the impression that she was an innocent woman. All sorts of miscellaneous thoughts began to appear in his head. All sorts of ideas of taking her to a secret place.
“It is a place with beautiful scenery. One of the few in the empire spots in the empire where you can view the sea.”
He calmly told superficial facts that everyone knew. In fact, there were not many areas adjacent to the sea in the Acreo Empire, which drew attention as a vacation spot.
“It must be a beautiful place.”
“You can come and visit if you want.”
Of course, before that, he planned to dominate her, but acted like he wouldn’t even think about it.
“It must have been really heartbreaking for Viscount Grant, who was robbed of such a beautiful place.”
She had a sad face, pretending not to know a person named Ver. It seemed that the conversation could now naturally flow into the story of the events that took place in the Grant family. Unless you fall into a strange side story.
“Grant… you mean the viscount?”
His face was a little stiff as he asked. Prillance had no choice but to be nervous.
“Are you interested?”
“What?”
“The Grants.”
She was embarrassed by the subsequent direct remarks. She blinked her round eyes at him in surprise. Ralph was looking at her with a cute expression on his face. Boss me around, as much as you want.
No, I want to grab your hair and kiss your eyes. However, your interest in other men was not very pleasant. Especially Marquis Grant.
“Because he’s talked about so much.” She said carefully.
“If so, is Young Lady interested in him?”
“Yes?…no. I just remembered that he was associated with the beautiful manor.”
“Oh.” it was a little late, but it was the answer he wanted. She was forced to say ‘no’ because she was so sharp, and so did the reassuring voice that immediately led to it.
“Did you misunderstand me?”
I need to take the initiative. She looks so disappointed. “Oh, no.”
Ralph responded skillfully to Prillance’s counterattack. But he didn’t take her eyes off her. He had a strange imagination looking at her disappointed face.
For example, the image of her crying underneath him.
“If it was just because I wanted Young Lady’s attention to be directed entirely to me, would you forgive me?”
Ralph smiled and acted like a gentleman, satisfied with the imaginations that came to his mind.
Prillance tried to shake off a strange rejection to his behavior. In the end, she nodded slightly without letting go of her expression.
“I’m glad.”
That day, Ralph talked a lot to Prillance to make her feel better, but nothing about what she wanted.
