Silent Hacker - Chapter 4：The Hit

I walk over to the edge but stop short. This was the part I hated the most.. I was afraid of heights… and the last time we did this it didn’t go too well.. “I will never understand humans.. think of it this way.. it will only hurt for a second because you will instantly die from this height.” I glare but at nothing in particularly but it was meant for him.

“That doesn’t help Chip.. not at all.” I take a deep breath a shake it off. I’ve been through worse. “Ten floors down, sitting on the right side.” Chip says and I close my eyes one last time before taking off. I run and jump off the roof and feel my stomach flip at the feeling as I begin to fall. I set my ropes to the exact length so I will swing and hit the very window to the room he’s in.

He’s evil scum and deserves to die. Kidnapping children and selling them as sex slaves… I hope there’s a special place in hell for monsters like him. I feel the rope tighten and I swing towards the large glass window at lightening speed.

The first time this happened I wasn’t ready.. I was still freaking out over the height and smacked right into the window without breaking it.. luckily the only person who saw it was now dead. Needless to say.. seeing a woman smack herself on a window fifty stories up like a fly on a windshield provides awesome time to get your shit together.

I flip the device on that creates a super high frequency.. something no human can hear but it’s perfect for shattering super thick glass on these buildings. The glass shatters mere seconds before I come flipping through but I already have my gun ready and pulling the trigger. He doesn’t even know what hits him as I hit him right between the eyes.

I feel like it’s over too soon but I don’t have the luxury of torturing the bastard. I look to the left and I’m shocked to see a very attractive man sitting in the chair across from the bastard. He sits in the chair with a relaxed look which has me hesitating. Most people are freaking out and running for cover at this time but there he sits… looking at me with amusement.

“Error… Maya this isn’t good.. I can’t pull up anything on this man. It’s like he doesn’t exists..” I give out a chocked laugh “Oh he exists.. and I know who he is.. we need to get out of here.. now.” I tell Chip and the man starts to stand. “Who are you talking to kitten?” I swallow hard as I wait for the rope.

“My partner..” I say as he starts to walk over and I begin stepping backwards. His smile grows and he says “I’ve been looking for you for nearly two years kitten.. are you really just going to leave again without telling me who you are?” I feel the rope tighten and my smile grows. “I would love to stick around and catch up and all but I’ve got places to be.. people to kill.. you know.”

His smile disappears as he breaks into a run. The rope catches and I fly backwards out of the window with a laugh. He stops at the window and watches me fly to the roof with neckbreaking speed. He quickly disappears and I know he’s coming. I pull my knife and cut the rope not bothering with untying it. I didn’t have the time with him coming.

“I need an exit and fast!” I yell as I take off running. “The building to your left is close enough to make the jump. Three.. two.. one!” I jump and make the landing on the other side just as he and his men bust through the roof door. They immediately begin chasing and I kick it into another gear.

“Ten men are chasing and will out run you at this speed. The man you know is calling for more men.. should I cut off his phone?” Chip ask and I continue to run for my life. “Yes, now I need an exit NOW!” I say again and Chip quickly says “Keep straight and the next building over has a door I can Unlock but..” huffing I say “But what??”

“The jump is going to be a challange.. you can do it though but it will be a hard jump.” I grit my teeth and pick up speed “Just get the door unlocked! I’ll make the jump.” My legs pumped as hard as they could as I prepare for the jump and just as Chip said.. it’s a large gap. I pick up speed and jump with everything I have. I land on the other building coming to a rolling stop.
