Silent Hacker - Chapter 49:Nerve
I shake myself when my thoughts start slipping back to how she felt and tasted. I can’t even entertain the thoughts without fear of finding her again. I understand things have happened to her so she has built walls in order to survive but I want to tear those very walls to the ground.
I walk into the room I set up for Trigger and find him pulling at his hair. “What’s wrong?” I ask from behind him and watch him jump. “Good Lord Alec! You have to stop doing that to me…” Trigger says holding his chest.
I give him a small smirk and sit down asking “What’s bothering you?” He sighs and swings his computer chair back around to face the computers again. “I’ve done everything I can and I still can’t find anything… We aren’t going to find anything on her unless she wants us to.”
I lean back and say “I figured as much so don’t worry about it. I planted the device you gave me so you should have a better chance at hacking into her computer but I’m only going to say this once… I don’t want you digging into anything personal or messing with anything of hers. I just want you to keep an eye on her and let me know when someone messes with her. Lately, someone has been making moves against her and I want to know who…”
Trigger nods his head giving me a knowing look. “Got it!” I nod and shift away to Lux. I had a meeting with Mr. Jang from South Korea but to be honest… this was the last thing I wanted to be doing. I walk out of the back room made just for me and make my way out into the loud club.
I walk past the crowds, ignoring all the woman giving me looks and make my way to the second floor. The men guarding the entrance both nod and step to the side as they see me coming. I ignore the two and head straight to my private section.
I sit down and the waiters/waitresses begin bringing out drinks and snacks. I look at my watch and see that I’m a little early so I pull out a cigarette and wait. I look up and find Ace, Parker, and Logan all making their way over.
“Boss, Jang just got here… he should be here soon.” Ace says taking a seat to my left. I give him a slight nod and narrow my eyes. The only reason I agreed to meet with Jang was that I heard he was trying to find Silent. AKA Maya.
Jang walks in with a few men “Mr. Sloan, It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I’ve heard many things about you and I’m grateful you’re willing to meet with me.” He holds his hand out in a polite gesture but I ignore it. Instead, I give him a cold smile.
“I’ve had a lot of pest coming into my territory lately… I wonder… what is everybody doing in my City?” I ask taking another drag of my cigarette. Jang’s poster smile fades a bit as he struggles to stay calm. “I don’t mean any harm… as you know we all have businesses and lately someone has been disturbing mine.”
I give him a bored look and wait. He clears his throat and pulls at his collar. His men shift from foot to foot as they look around nervously. “What I’m trying to say is that no one means any disrespect to you… we are asking permission to hunt someone in your territory.”
I slowly lean forward, putting the cigarette out in the ashtray as I pick up a glass of scotch. I take a sip and give him a cold look “And if I say no?” Leaving the threat in the air. Jang swallows hard and says “We will follow your rules… We only want one person.”
I give him a cold smile “And that one person is Silent, am I right?” Jang looks at me in surprise before he eagerly nods his head in agreement. “That’s right! We’ll grab her and leave without bothering you.” Jang says with excitement and I find my grin growing.
“How do you know if it’s a she? Wasn’t Silent male?” I ask while taking another drink. Jang’s face shows relief at my question and quickly says “I’ll let you in on a little secret, I hired the best hacker from Korea and he has been able to find her. He’s good, really good.”
My hand pauses and my eyes flash. They brought in a hacker from South Korea… I wonder if he’s the one messing with her? I take another sip “What’s this hackers name?” I ask and Jang quickly says “Oh I have no idea… we were actually contacted by him and he offered to work for us so we couldn’t turn him down.”
