Silent Hacker - Chapter 67:Who
I quickly step back lifting my hands. “Wait, wait, wait! Can we just talk? Look, obviously I missed something so maybe you can be nice enough to fill me in.” I say in a panic but do my best to smile. I’m sure it looked as awkward as it felt but I did my best to smile.
The man comes to a stop and gives me a confused look. “I don’t really care if you missed anything but I do find that you smell pretty good… Why do you smell so good?” The man says leaning forward sniffing as I take another step back.
He sees the move and begins to growl and I force myself to stop. I slowly lift an arm to my nose to take a quick sniff but I don’t smell anything. I feel my smile twitching as I say “I’m flattered you think I smell good but I’m not quite sure what you smell.”
“Maya… things aren’t looking good. I’ve calculated his speed and strength and the chances of getting away are..” I quickly cut Chip off with a nervous laugh and look at the man/beast in front of me. He tilts his head and watches me with confusion.
“You said I smelt good… like food or…” I ask looking around the ally for anything that could help me out of this but I don’t see anything. “Hmmm, I guess both. I’ve decided. I will keep you as my new pet.” My awkward smile quickly fades at his words as I begin to truly panic. Pet my ass!!
“Look here buddy, I’m no one’s pet and that isn’t going to change… ever. You seem like a smart man so why don’t you step to the side and let this lady pass.” The man’s smile grows and becomes colder. “Yes, I am a smart man and I know that you are somehow different from the other woman I have come across but I also know you are just a puny human.”
I roll my eyes as I lose all my patience. “Enough. I’m only going to tell you to move this once.” I say lifting my gun. The man looks at the gun and lowers himself into a crouching position. My stomach drops. I was hoping that if he saw the gun he’d leave… I guess that was wishful thinking.
I Shoot the gun and watch as the five bullets hit the man in his chest and stomach. He flinches and looks down at the holes but when he looks back at me he’s grinning from ear to ear. “Well, shit…” I say as the man steps forward. I lift the gun and shoot him straight in the head, stopping him but only for a moment.
To my horror, the guy’s eyes roll back before blinking a few times then rolling back to normal. He lifts his hand to the blood dripping down his face. “That wasn’t nice… that kinda hurt.” The man said as he brings his bloody fingers to his mouth, licking at the blood.
I feel myself growing colder. This is bullshit! Even zombies go down when you shoot them in the head!! When he begins to smile again and steps forward I lower the gun and shoot his kneecaps in a last attempt to bring him down but he only flinches.
This time he glares at me as he swings. I lean back, barely missing his fist and I stumble backward. Not only were they strong but they were also incredibly fast! Before I can even blink he swings again. “Not fast enough Maya! Block!” Chip yells as I lift my arms up.
The man’s fist hit me with so much strength I find myself airborne. I see stars as my back and the back of my head hit the wall. I gasp for air as I find that all the air was knocked out of me. I fight against the black spots as Chip yells “Maya!” I try to dodge but I’m too slow.
