Silent Hacker - Chapter 69:New Team Player?
I look at the man from head to toe before nodding and saying “Thank you… I didn’t realize what I was up against.” I say in a shaky voice. The man gives me a small smile before saying “No problem. I’m glad I got here in time. My name is Remi and you are?”
I bend over to pick up my necklace and feel my world tilt. Remi quickly reaches out and catches me before I fall over. I steady myself and give Remi a kind smile. “Thanks, My name is Maya. Do you live around here?” I ask looking around the ally.
I feel myself frown at my own question as Chip says “Maya, I’ve measured your pupils and I’m certain you have a concussion.” I nod as Remi laughs a little saying “No, I’m actually here visiting friends but then this happened I was separated. Are you okay?”
I realize I’m still in his arms and step away in awkwardness. I clear my throat and say “I think I have a concussion…” Remi’s dark eyebrows draw together in concern as he leans down to look at my eyes. His eyes were a dark green and when compared to his dark hair the combo was deadly.
Remi was a really attractive dude… I shake myself from my thoughts as he asks “Do you live around here? I’ll walk you home. Or is there someone I can get for you? I’d offer to take you to the hospital or my place but as you know…” I nod and wave him off.
Hospitals were down and the guy was visiting friends so he didn’t have a place. I look around the ally and then back to Remi. He watched me with concern but didn’t do anything. He saved my life and even though the guy was a beast he was clearly more like Alec and Nero.
“I can’t really drive right now and I know you don’t have a place to stay so if you don’t mind driving us back I can give you a place to stay for the time being.” Remi’s green eyes light up as he says “Are you sure that’s okay? We don’t really know each other…” I wave him off and say “I have a few others like you back home. I think you’ll fit right in.”
Remi gives me a kind smile before turning around and squatting. I look at him in confusion as my world spins. He looks back and when he sees my look of confusion he laughs and says “Get on and I’ll carry you. Tell me where I need to go.”
I wanted to walk but I was finding it increasingly harder to even keep my eyes open. I step forward and lean on his broad back. He easily lifts me and grabs my thighs to hold me up. I point straight ahead “Just out of this ally and then to the right. About three streets down you will find a black bike. That’s mine… we can ride it back.”
“Alright alright, I won’t go to sleep,” I say laying my head against his warm back. Fall really was here and at the moment I felt very cold. Remi’s body heat really did feel good at the moment making it harder to keep my eyes open.
Remi quickly finds the bike and puts me down but was careful to make sure I didn’t fall before climbing on the bike and helping me on. He cranked her up and grabbed both my arms and wrapped them around his muscular waist.
Under normal circumstances, I would never allow anyone I just met to do this but I knew I really didn’t have a choice. I was in trouble and I needed to get back. I let him wrap my arms around him and leaned against his warm back again.
I shiver against the cold air as we pick up speed and quickly tell him where to go but as we pull up to the house I find myself giving in to the heavy darkness. I was just too tired and no matter how much Chip called me I couldn’t bring myself to answer him. Sorry Chip…
