Silent Hacker - Chapter 8:Home
We pull up to the large warehouse that looks abandonded and make my way in. I walk through the dimly lit entrance and place my hand against the wall. It makes a small beeping noise and the ugly wall gives way to an grand entrance. I walk into the elevator that leads up to the fifth floor… my home.
I had the whole building gutted and re-done. The elevator comes to a stop and I step out. The floor lits up as I stepped across it and Chip instantly connects to the house system. The lights in the warehouse begin lighting up making it seem like mid-day, not midnight.
I looked at the huge, ceiling to floor fish tank and found my beautiful butterfly Koi gliding through the water at a peaceful pace. I make my way over and watch the large Koi on wobbly legs. “Did you guys miss me? I missed ya’ll..” I say and hear nothing but the peaceful sound of running water.
“Chip, give the guys a treat..” I say as I turn and make my way to the kitchen. “If you keep giving them “Treats” They are going to grow large enough to eat you..” Chip says engaging the automatic feeder. I smile as I head to the refrigerator.. the doors become clear as I walk closer.
I open it and grab a cold bottle of water and make my way over to my computer set up. I hear the watering system kick on as it begins to water all of my house plants. I don’t think there isn’t a spot in this house that doesn’t have a plant of some kind in it. I love house plants… it was boarder lining obsessive but I keep myself in check…mostly.
I sit in my uber comfy computer chair and tap the space bar bringing all the screens to life. Chip had already cleaned out the guy’s accounts and they should all be safe in multiple accounts. Never a good idea to put all your money in one account… I’ve bought this land and the surrounding land making sure I wouldn’t have any problems with rezoning or anything else. Plus I collect on rent on the surrounding buildings and businesses.
All under different names but all me. Chip begins rerunning our little outting making sure he didn’t miss a camera or picture. Chip was the best thing I’ve ever created and I knew he was highly illegal but that didn’t matter to me. Practically everything I did was illegal…. but I don’t trust cops.
I understand they have a few good, straight cops but I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them.. They let me down when I needed them the most.. they didn’t listen.. they were easily bought.. And I soon realized everything I used to know was a lie.
I met several different woman while in prison and I learned quite a bit… even if they weren’t legal. They’ve saved my life and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. The first person I killed was probably the hardest. But when I saw what he was doing to the woman.. it made things a lot easier.
Once I was out of prison I got in touch with a friend of a friend from prison and got my hands on quiet a few weapons. I then began practicing my shots.. over and over until I could hit my target with my eyes closed. I then picked up knives.. everything is pretty much the same. I wanted to be good at it all.. I needed to be good at it all.
I know others will come and take over… doing the same thing or worse but I will still be here and I will kill them too… no matter how long it takes.. I won’t stop. They can’t stop me and I will keep it that way. “So.. are you going to tell me how you know the man from before?” Chip suddenly says breaking me out of my thoughts.
