Silent Hacker - Chapter 89:Wait... What?
I start unloading both guns into the beast as it charges straight at me but when I see that it doesn’t really phase the beast I grit my teeth and engage my suit. Chip roars out making my insides shiver from the ferociousness. I take a quick glance at Chip and see him ripping the head off the bear-like creature.
Chip’s blue eyes blazed like an intense fire as electricity sharked and rippled down his blood coated teeth. He looked magnificent… Chip looks over and we lock eyes before the beast hits me knocking me back several feet.
The beast follows with screams of pain as the suit gives off wave after wave of electrical pulses. The beast pushes me away in an attempt to release itself from the painful shocks. Chip takes advantage and jumps on the beast’s back, sinking his large teeth into the beast’s neck.
The beast flings its long arms in desperation to knock Chip off but Chip holds on and digs in deeper as he strains to rip the head off. I see the beast’s arm swinging at me but I’m not fast enough. The beast backhands me sending me flying back several feet.
I hit the ground and slid straight into a pit. I reach out and grab the edge of the pit as I struggle with everything I have not to fall in. The black vine-like things that pulse start moving towards me and I feel my heart reach my throat.
I know from the pit by my house that nothing good comes out of these things! I try to pull myself up but something grabs my ankle. I look down in panic and see that vine crawling up my leg. More vines grab my other leg and around my waist.
They start pulling me with surprising strength. I pull out a blade and start stabbing the plant in an attempt to cut myself free but more come in its place. I hear the beast Chip’s fighting yell in pain as a sickening crunch follows.
“Chip!” I yell as my grip falters. I drop the knife and use both hands to hold on for dear life but it’s not enough. The vines pull harder causing the ground I’m holding onto to crumble. Everything seemed to slow down as I feel myself falling.
“Chip?” I ask slowly sitting up and looking around in confusion. This wasn’t the woods… I look around and find the place baren and empty. What in the world? I look around and squint against the wind stirring up the dry dirt. I start patting my body and when I’m sure I’m still in one piece I push myself up.
I look around confused but I don’t really see anything but dead trees and dry cracked ground. I look up and see a large sun but it’s different. It’s large and completely red, blood red. I look around and notice how hot it is with a frown.
“Chip?” I call out again but I get nothing. Was the pit a portal of some kind? I walk around the area I fell and begin swinging my arms. There had to be a way to get back… After a few minutes, I begin jumping in desperation.
Nothing… I wipe the sweat on my forehead as I look up to the red sun. It’s so freaking hot… I look around and notice that everything was washed in a red hue making everything look eerie. “This is just great…” *Cough cough* It’s even hard to breathe…
“Think Maya… Think…” I mumble as I look around the barren place. The sun beating down was starting to cause my head to pound from the heat so I decided to strip down first. I unstrap my backpack and take off my jacket but I don’t stop there.
I pull off my shirt so that all that’s left is my bra and tank top. I fold my shirt and put it inside my bag with the jacket. I look at the water bottles in my bag with desire but I decide against drinking anything right now. I have no idea where I am and I have no idea how long I’ll have to last on the water I have…
