Silverhart Online - 47 Allegiances and Impersonation
Stepping foot outside out of the guild, Gray and Isamu stated their plans of what they are going to from this point onward.
But first things first, the Elf could not help but wonder at the Quest Bonus that was granted to him earlier upon the completion of his quest in giving Ethan the letter of his mother earlier.
Since Gray does not currently know what category the Quest Bonus reward belongs to, he decided to open his every UI until he finds the name that is .
A very short while later, Gray was able to find the name. Surprisingly, it is listed in his Character UI where a new list seems to have appeared as it integrates itself in the said UI.
– These are the list of settlements that have earned either your devotion or fear as you rise on your glorious path to being the most powerful and influential person in the whole land.
(Devoted) – Your sequence of noble actions and feats for the village of Oakwood has earned you the loyalty and trust of the villagers. As such, you are an aspiring individual that they now highly look up to as your fame spread rapidly within their hearts. With your bidding, Oakwood to a reasonable extent has your support in your noble endeavors to come.
Village Information:
Ruler: Count of Chadena
Your position: Influential Individual / Local hero / Champion of Wynather
Prosperity: Average
Influence: High
Assets: Unavailable for now
Reports: Unavailable for now
Notable Individuals known: Theodore Grant (Village Head), Eric Mills (Noteworthy villager), Owner of the General Goods.
After reading the set of new information presented to him, Gray’s eyes blink in a pleasant surprise at examining this kind of feature being assimilated into his system.
‘Neat.’ Gray mentally cheers at the prospect of perhaps a possible system relating to settlement management. ‘Hehe, this sure is awesome. This means that earning a settlement’s favor will grant me benefits, most likely related to money and properties. I wonder if I can hold the same respectable position here in Chadena as well? After all, I can feel some progress regarding that, seeing as how I earned some of the townsfolk’s favor by making a tomfoolery out of myself caused by the dance last night at the tavern. The possibility of being a governor or gaining some political power of some sort in the future is certainly exciting in my part.’
Gray could not resist a wide smile gracing forth on his youthful face. Aside from RPG, he also enjoys games that have some aspect of kingdom building such as Mount and Blade, Total War, and other games of similar genres.
As such, his reaction is truly justifiable upon him learning a marvelous feature that has mingled into his system.
While the Elf is currently lost on his happy thoughts, Isamu who is beside him interrupts him as the Cat-folk asserts his intentions to the Elf.
“I’ll be going first to the Temple of Agveyr at the Boscage for the time being,” Isamu said. “Krothu most likely will be there at this moment in the morning praying. If not, then to the farmlands it is.”
“The Boscage huh.” Gray rubs his chin in pondering. “I suppose I’ll head on there too, to the Magus Emporium specifically, to see how Selena is doing and ask my new Master if I’m allowed to stay there for the night since I’ll be starting my apprenticeship tomorrow.”
“Ah, your Sentinel, correct?” Isamu asks in clarification, remembering Gray talking about her during their chat at the Fighter’s Retreat last night.
Gray nods in response to his questioning remark. “But before going to the Emporium, perhaps I’ll accompany you first to the temple. I’m also quite curious about how the place looks like inside.”
“I’m glad for your company once again,” Isamu smirks as they both agreed with their intentions and started walking as they make their way to the garden district of Chadena.
“Say, Isamu.” Gray could not help but question the cat-folk out of pure curiosity. “What’s the deal with Shael? The people inside the guild seemed to hold her in high regard despite being a low-leveled . Not to mention how they obey her without question with fearful looks on their faces. Heck, even you yourself are trembling with the same reaction right beside me.”
“Ah, that.” Isamu realizes where Gray is going about this as he grins. “Lady Shael… is not who you think she is, at first glance at least. Many would mistake her for a simple as depicted by her status bar. But what most don’t know is that it’s all a façade.”
“A facade?” Gray tilted his head in confusion and makes his deduction. “You mean her status bar is a fake?”
“Hehe, you’re quite fast at deducing things, I can give you that.” Isamu nods in approval. “The skill of is truly phenomenal indeed. Just like what you did when you disguised yourself as a bandit back at the Encampment, Lady Shael in a manner of speaking, disguised herself as well to match her current persona as a simple receptionist of the guild to ease the civilians when they conduct business in the guild when they converse with her. Obviously, all of us at the guild know of her true strength as a warrior, the exclusive female warrior class of to be more specific, thus we at the guild show her only the proper respect that she deserves. That, and she’s also the wife of Guild Master Malic himself. So yeah, no one even has the intention of pursuing her despite her immense beauty, hence they risk the wrath of the husband, haha.”
“Wow.” Gray was slightly taken aback at the information being provided to him about the receptionist of the Warrior’s Guild. “That sounds astonishing. No wonder the warriors complied with her in an instant. So, the skill also has some benefits such as that. But if I remember correctly in the skill’s description, the skill is only limited to weakening oneself, right?”
“You are correct.” Isamu nods. “So, we wouldn’t have to worry about witnessing a weakling disguised as one of the 12 divines themselves. Despite its undeniable benefits, it also poses a risk since many vile individuals, especially criminals, spies, and rogues, would take advantage of the skill to infiltrate in any organization or town for whatever interests that they have. As such, don’t rely too much on their status bar and instead, take the time to observe their every actuation and movement for anything that is out of the ordinary.”
“I see, you got a point right there,” Gray said as he indeed finds the skill extremely useful, evident by how he was able to slip into the Encampment unscathed. Thankfully, he also thought of adding injuries to snatch the bandits’ attention away from their thoughts of asking who he really is.
After their talk, both opted to remain quiet throughout their walk as they merely marvel at the sights that the town is showing to them.
And in about half an hour, both of them finally arrived at the familiar garden district that is the Boscage.
And speaking of districts, a question suddenly pops inside the Elf’s mind as he asks the Cat-folk. “Hey Isamu. You mentioned this town about having four districts, right?”
“Yes.” Isamu answers. “Why do you ask?”
“Well, I’ve only been at three districts, namely the Commerce district, the Residential district, and right here at the Boscage. I’ve never set foot in the fourth one. What’s the name of that district by the way?”
“Ah, that one.” Isamu nods in understanding at Gray’s curiosity. “The fourth district, hahaha. To be honest, I completely forgot to tell you about it. As a matter of fact, the Warrior’s Guild itself is a small part of the fourth district that you are wondering about. So, technically speaking, you already set your foot on every district that Chadena has to offer. The district is simply called the Administration district, where the court of Chadena, led by the Count, fulfill their duties and responsibilities in administering the town’s various affairs.”
Gray nods in reply, finally satisfied now that he knows every district of the town.
As that topic is enlightened in Gray’s favor, both now proceed to the temple, with Isamu’s intention of finding the Orc Warrior, Krothu for him to get some training.
With the two arriving outside of the temple, Gray took a closer inspection of its exterior.
The temple itself can be described as simple which is accompanied by the architectural structure of stones. Looking further at the religious establishment, it is as quaint as the chantry back at Oakwood with almost similar in terms of structure. A huge bell also hangs within a steeple on the top, as most churches do.
“Behold, the temple of Agveyr.” Isamu presented Gray the temple that’s situated on the Boscage. “This is the place of worship where the citizens of Chadena pay their respects and prayers to the God of War, Agveyr, in hopes of the Divine granting us everlasting triumph in our hardships. Being the God of War himself, he is naturally revered by us Warriors as his blessings confer us the necessary strength in achieving victory in our future battles to come.”
Gray simply responds in acknowledgment at what the Cat-folk said to him.
As such, they both advanced to step foot inside the temple, with the hopes of the orc, Krothu being present inside.
