Since When Did You Have The Illusion That You Don’t Have Magical Powers?! - CH 39

Sapphiras Perfectio, 2nd son of the Earl of Aldridge
Percival Belisario, 3rd son of Margrave of Vanderwall on the Eastern Frontier
Clawis Omnibus Worstitters/Clawis Garcia, Crown Prince of Worstitters
Rivera Hernández, Clawis’ aide/escort
Benedict Regalia Worstitters, Wise Beast King of Worstitters
Marshal Hastings Fels Worstitters, the King of Worstitters’ brother
When I climbed out from the dungeon with His Majesty and the others, the top was completely cleared out. The knights who had taken Marshal Hastings’ side were all stretched and tied up. Some were slightly wounded, but none were badly wounded.
Rivera and the knights knelt down in unison when they noticed His Majesty.
“Your Majesty the King, I am glad to see you are safe!”
“……Everyone, it was a great cause. Above all, I am proud of you for protecting the people of the royal capital without regard for yourselves. And you served my inexperienced son well. I thank you. And, Belisario-dono, my deepest thanks also go to you.
“Thank you for your kind words.”
Percival, kneeling, bows his head deeply. His appearance is truly knightly, and if the daughters or the sons in the academy who want to be his companion saw it, they would let out a shriek of delight.
“Well then, Your Majesty. First of all, we will go first to prepare the throne room, so please take your time and come.”
I bowed deeply, a little theatrically, and gave Clawis and Percival a wink. The two of them, completely full of enthusiasm, nodded.
“Then let’s go.”
“I’m already ready.”
“Yeah.”
The three of us headed for the throne room ahead of the others, leaving His Majesty the King and the others in the hands of Rivera and the Royal Capital Liberation Army. Since His Majesty the King is returning, we must clean every corner of the throne room.
“Whoa”
The knight that Percival struck rolled down the stairs, but he must have been able to adjust, so he is probably not dead. I use magic to restrain the knights and soldiers that Clawis and Percival beat down, and throw them downstairs so that they won’t get in the way of His Majesty the King and others who are coming later.
After climbing the grand staircase, a long, wide corridor leads up to the throne room. Naturally, the rebel knights are there too. So we have to clear out anyone who gets in our way. After we passed through, the beastmen soldiers with their hands and feet bound rolled down the corridor like signposts to the throne room.
Anyway, are all these guys against an alliance with the human race? If so, they are totally outdated. The future is peace. Both sides can be prosperous by taking advantage of each other’s good points. So why bother to snarl at each other?
We are confronted by four strong-looking beastmen knights in front of a stern and massive door.
“Crown Prince Clawis! Why are you here!”
“Why? Of course, to reclaim the throne.”
“No way, you?”
“You mustn’t joke about this. How are you going to get through here with just that attendant?”
“If you don’t want to get hurt, I’ll let you go to your father quietly.”
The knights sneered at Clawis.
They are utterly disrespectful to the Crown Prince of their country. And also disrespectful to the King. It’s disrespectful, so I’ll have them blown away with the door.
“Whatever, can you move out of there for now? Well, I know you can’t, so I’m going to have to blow you down with the door.”
“Wh-what……!!”
Before the knight could open his mouth, lightning and a tornado blew the door apart, which was decorated with fine engravings. The four knights are blown away along with the door that has turned to dust. I stepped into the throne room in a cloud of dust.
I see a large shadow sitting on the throne swaying and rising. At the shadow’s side was a knight of equally large stature. Marshal Hastings, whom I’ve never seen before, is a black wolf with a rather impressive physique. Unlike His gentle-looking Majesty, he appears to be a rather intimidating figure.
I fixed my gaze straight at Marshal Hastings and raised a voice that echoed through the throne room.
“Hold back! Lower your head! Here sits His Highness the Crown Prince Clawis Omnibus Worstitters of the Beastmen Kingdom of Worstitters! Lay down your swords at once!”
“Have you finally lost your mind, Clawis……did you think you could bring such a feeble race of humans against us beastmen?”
None of them throw down their swords, and Marshal Hastings laughs through his nose.
I am aware that my appearance is a little underwhelming. But you shouldn’t judge your enemies by their looks.
“……You won’t know unless you give it a try, right?”
“Hmm, I see. That damn cheeky disposition isn’t bad…… If you come to me, I’ll love you to your heart’s content. You’ll be treated like a slave until the day you die.”
Marshal Hastings gave me a look of intense contempt. This man looks down on the human race. He’s the opposite of His Majesty Benedict, who seems to be so mild-mannered.
“Seize them! I don’t care if you take a limb or two!”
Marshal Hastings barks, and the knights draw their swords in unison.
“I think you’d better stop doing useless things? I think it would be better for your future if you honestly threw down your swords and surrendered.
A wall of flame rises up in front of us, and the knights are frightened by the hot wind.
“Uwah!”
“Wh-what is this!”
I surrounded the knights with a whirlwind of flames, deprived them of escape and tied them up with thorny vines. The knights who pointed their swords at His Highness the Crown Prince all rolled on the floor. I won’t let them lay a finger on the two of them.
“The likes of the human race, don’t get in a good mood with this degree!’
Marshal Hastings, running down from his throne, draws his sword and gets close to me. This person underestimates magicians too much. There’s no way I’m standing here defenceless.
The sword that was swung down is repelled by barrier magic.
“Ku-”
I’m not sure if my hand might have gone numb just now. I couldn’t help but laugh. Even after receiving a blow, Marshal Hastings gives me an angry look as I stand around idly.
“Seal this guy’s magic!”
Marshal Hastings orders his spearmen, who have quickly gained distance, to throw their spears at me at once. The quickest way to block a magician is to block his chanting. Or use speed-oriented attacks to prevent them from chanting.
However, the theory of attacking magicians doesn’t work on me. Because I don’t need to chant. The whirlwind that rises from my feet blows away all the spears.
“It’s useless.”
“Don’t be impudent!”
Marshal Hastings raised his great sword again, and I stopped it with my wand. Marshal Hastings’ bloodshot eyes widen in astonishment. He must have made that kind of face because I blocked a blow with all his might with just a thin wand.
“No matter how hard you try, you can’t hurt me.”
As I dispelled the sword, the General’s huge body, which was blown away, crashed into the throne. The impact shatters the throne into pieces. After doing it, maybe I should have thought a little about the direction to blow him away? I was about to reflect on it, but when I thought about it, the throne brought bad luck once, so I reconsidered that it would be better to set up a new one here.
“……Y-you……”
As expected of the strongest beastman, he didn’t grow to that extent. Scattering the fragments of the throne, he stands up like an ogre. While watching the situation, I set up my wand.
“Go ahead, come at me from wherever you want.”
I pulled up the corners of my mouth and said, daring to provoke. It must be humiliating to be beaten by a weak human like me. However, it is not always the one who is bigger and stronger who wins.
I am about to jump on him again when Marshal Hastings, who has changed into a half-beast form, bristles up and is ready to pounce on me again.
“That’s all. Marshal Hastings.”
A stern voice echoes through the throne room. I quickly dropped to my knees and hung my head.
His Majesty Benedict appeared in the throne room with Rivera and the others. Her Highness the Queen followed behind him. Clawis quickly escorts them.
“Benedict……”
“The capital and this castle have already been liberated. There is no one left to follow you.”
“Wh-what ……?”
The knights here have learned first-hand that it is not a bluff. After all, with all these knights and soldiers, they weren’t able to inflict a single wound on a single magician.
“The crime of shaking the country is a heavy one. Brother1 Hastings, be prepared.”
Raising his hairs, Marshal Hastings shudders all over.
“Why……why! Why! Why! I am far stronger than you! I am the one fit to be King! Now, with this power, I will rule over the people! You guys! Have you forgotten the humiliation you once suffered at the hands of men?
Marshal Hastings barked at the knights protecting His Majesty King Benedict.
aniue, in other words, he’s the older brothe
