Single Stat System - Chapter 49
When he woke up, Sakim found himself in a place unknown to him. As for the thing he saw last night, he only thought about it as a dream. But was it really a dream? It felt so real though. However, if it was not a dream, then why could he not find the blue tree anymore? Even the pond nor the wisps were nowhere to be found as well as it happened that he was in the middle of the forest that he wasn’t familliar with.
At first, Sakim was still thinking about where would he sleep last night. But now in the morning, he couldn’t even remember how did he end up here sleeping on the ground. He didn’t even know when did he sleep. All he remembered was that excruciating pain.
Pain? Sakim was suddenly baffled by that thought. Yes, that pain had really made him suffer. It could be said that it didn’t pale in comparison to the pain he felt when the wrath of Heavens hit him. Was it really just a dream? Even though he was still confused, his body still remembered clearly and was telling him that all the pain was real.
And since that pain was could be said true, then there was a high chance that the place where he went yesternight, where the surroundings were all blue, was also real. Sakim couldn’t help but narrow his eyes slightly when he thought about it. And while he was on it, he unwittingly raised his hand upwards as he tried the block the sunlight that peeked at his eyes through the gaps between the leaves of the tree.
So to confirm, Sakim summoned the System. He was even too lazy to get up while he was doing it.
In any case, if everything was confusing, then there was only one thing that could confirm about the things he saw last night of whether it was true or not. If his memories didn’t betray him, then there should be an item that was given to him by that wisp that turned into a little fairy, right? If he remembered correctly, that item was called, [Memory Fruit].
And to his surprise, Sakim had his eyes widened when he saw a blue fruit icon in his Inventory. He hurriedly looked for its description and sure enough, it was the thing that that little fairy had given him.
“So, everything is real huh…” Sakim muttered in all seriousness. After reminiscing about something for some time, Sakim got up from the ground. But it appeared that his thoughts were still wandering around as he didn’t even notice that there was actually a big brown bear right in front of him.
Roar!
The bear opened its mouth widely as its roar made Sakim wide awake. No, to put it more correctly, Sakim was being shocked to death from that roar.
But Sakim had no more time to be shocked even a little longer as he hurriedly rolled to the side accompanied by furious cursing. How could he not if that bear was already there to swing its huge paws against him. Just what the hell was this? Just when did this beast come near to him?
Thud!
Fortunately, Sakim managed to dodge the incoming attack as the bear had only hit the ground. Even so, that attack had still caused some vibration to the ground as Sakim was certain that it could give him significant damage if that sudden attack hit him. Just what level of monster was this bear? He was certain that although its strength was couldn’t be compared to the Wrathful Rat he fought before, this bear had more than enough strength to pummel many Cave Rats at the same time.
So after some furious rolling, Sakim hurriedly stood up from the ground. After which, he wiped the sweat that broke on his forehead as it appeared that this bear could really give him a good warm-up.
But Sakim was rather annoyed than feeling grateful. After all, his mood was still melancholic and this bear would just ruin his mood? Where did it get the guts to do so? This bear must be tired of living!
With that in mind, Sakim then looked at its stats and sure enough, with its HP, he could kill it very easily.
[Brown Bear]
Rank: Common
Level: 16
HP: 1,090 | 1,090
Although this bear appeared to be strong, probably the strongest normal monsters he’d met as of now, it was not to the point that it could threaten his life. He was still confident that killing this kind of monster was still within his means.
But wait!
What the heck was with this level? Did he just got transported somewhere where the monsters around were higher in level? He could still deal with one of this kind of monster but what if there was a bunch of them? It had to be known that dealing with the bunch of level 5 Cave Rats was already hard enough. How much more if it was a level 16 monster?
Rawr!
But as Sakim was still thinking what was going on now, the bear on the other hand had then again made a move against him. Seeing its breakfast managed to flee from its attack, this brown bear was agitated. It didn’t expect that this prey was actually quite nimble.
So as if afraid that its prey would dare to run away again, the brown bear rushed towards Sakim. Every stride it made caused a low tremor on the ground.
But Sakim had no time playing with this mob. He raised his forefinger as he muttered nonchalantly, “Go Die.”
After which, three consecutive small balls of blood shot out from the tip of Sakim’s forefinger. It went directly towards the brown bear halting its furious steps.
Not only that, after Sakim’s skill and the bear made contact, the bear roared in agony as it could be seen that its blood was leaving its body. After some time, its blood had run dry as its body turned into a dried corpse. Not long after that, the blood that left its body that formed into a ball of blood flew towards Sakim before disappearing when it reached in front of him.
[You’ve killed the Brown Bear. You’ve received 210 experience points and 21 copper coins.]
Sakim didn’t have any expressions when he killed the monster. But instead, he swept his gaze in the area to see if there was more of this kind. It would be troublesome if there were really a horde of them.
But Sakim didn’t find even any traces of this kind of monster. But contrary to that, what he found were few Snails crawling slowly in the area. They were all around on the lake of grassland where trees didn’t stand.
What was going on now? Wasn’t he transported in the higher level leveling area? But why could he find these low-level Snails now? Were his eyes playing tricks on him?
Confused, Sakim came closer to one of the Snails he found nearby. And he frowned when he saw that it was really the kind of low-level Snail that he encountered before. Since that was the case, this place was still probably a low-level leveling area where Snails were the mobs.
As for the Brown Bear he had just encountered, there was only one thought in Sakim’s mind that could explain why did he found this bear in this place. This bear must be a wild monster, a monster from the higher-level leveling area that wandered in a lower-level leveling area for certain reasons.
Sakim shifted his gaze on the other side of the woods as the range of his eyes was fixed as far away as could be.
