Single Stat System - Chapter 63
“A-are you okay?” Seeing the reaction of Sakim, the robber’s leader asked.
“Uh… Yes,” Sakim was snapped awake from the sudden call of the robber’s leader. He then shook away all those fragments of memories that entered his mind as he said, “Although I still have few questions, it is now much clearer to me why am I being chased. However, I have no more time to waste. The bandits are already here.”
Sakim reached his hand forward as he touched the chain entangling the robbers. After a moment, he said, “Steal.”
Immediately, the chain disappeared out of thin air as an incredible amount of Greed Energy leaked out from Sakim on that short moment before disappearing again without a trace after the job was done.
Seeing Sakim, the robber’s leader swallowed another mouthful of saliva. If he compared his Greed Energy with the other party, his Greed Energy was likely to be a drop of water while the other party’s Greed Energy was the ocean. He just couldn’t measure how vast the disparity of their power was.
After removing the chain of the bandits, Sakim then said, “You are free now. But don’t expect me to help your group all the way to the safe place. I still have a lot of troubles to deal with.”
The robber’s leader nodded his head seriously as he responded, “Th-thank you…”
Sapak!
However, just after he thanked Sakim, a fast object came at the other party from the front of the carriage. Surprisingly, it was actually a blue-haired woman in a bandit’s costume. Her foot crashed on Sakim’s face as he saw him being sent away with that woman. The carriage that had already stopped a moment ago when Sakim killed the two knights, was almost destroyed and ready to collapse at any moment.
What the hell? The robber’s leader was almost scared to death by the sudden occurrence. He was just thankful that he and his subordinates didn’t die from that. He turned his gaze at the back of the carriage where Sakim and the woman had passed to, as he couldn’t help swallowing another mouthful of saliva again. If he was hit by that sudden onslaught, he was doubtful if he was still breathing right now.
Cough! Cough!
Meanwhile, Sakim who was now outside the carriage was now kneeling with his hands on the ground. He was coughing mouthfuls of blood as he found it hard to get up. He was even having a hard time pushing himself from the ground as if he had just lost his strength from that kick. He could also tell that even without looking at his HP bar, he lost more than half of his HP.
“Oh? You’re quite tough from your level,” But then, while Sakim was still struggling to get up, a soft voice chuckled. Light footsteps then soon followed coming in his direction.
Sakim tried his best to raise his head in front of him and there he found a beautiful blue-haired woman in her late twenties. She was clad in tight black clothes revealing how voluptuous her body was. If this woman was just a good girl, then he might have fallen in love with her.
“Who are you?” Sakim asked coldly. Although he was in the face of danger, he had this natural calmness that made the blue-haired woman a bit surprised.
“It seems like you are confident with your Greed Energy…” The blue-haired woman chuckled softly again seeing the calmness of the other party. However, just after a moment, her expression suddenly turned cold as the icy tone of her voice came out of her seductive lips, “But it’s useless in front of me. Because I can see that you have yet to control or make use of the full extent of the ability of your Greed Energy.”
Sakim narrowed his eyes towards the other party. Although he didn’t know what Greed Energy the other party was talking about, he could deduce that it was related to his passive skill: Greed. If that was the case, then he could only admit that he was still getting used to the capability of his passive skill. But hearing the woman in front of him now, he could tell that there was still more to it that he needed to know regarding this passive skill of his.
So knowing that the other party wasn’t planning on introducing herself, Sakim had instead asked, “What do you need from me?”
As he asked it, Sakim consumed some of the stolen HP he had to refill his HP bar. Only one thought was in his mind at that time, “This woman is dangerous. I cannot be careless.”
“Oh? You have a good healing item. It can actually heal you almost instantaneously? Haha, vessels are really blessed by the heavens.” However, as Sakim was focused on the woman in front of him, he suddenly heard another voice of a woman just beside him. He slowly shifted his gaze on his right side and there he saw another woman in her late twenties crouching down a meter or two away from him.
The other party had crimson hair and she was smiling at him. And as if she knew about his passive skill: Greed, she kept a good distance from him.
But Sakim however, still didn’t show any emotion. Although he didn’t know how did this woman came close to him, and although he could tell that she was way stronger than him, there was still no hint of fear that could be found in his eyes.
So after a moment of staring at her, Sakim got up from the ground and stood up straight. He even had this domineering aura of some peerless individual exuding out from him as he stood up.
“It seems like you two don’t want to answer me.” Sakim’s cold voice then finally came out from his mouth as he turned his cold gaze at the crimson-haired woman who was still crouching down and said, “Then you must be prepared for trying to go against me, right?”
“Hoho,” The crimson-haired woman let out a sarcastic laugh as she stood up as well and continued, “With your current level, what can you even do to us?”
Instead of replying, Sakim let out a smile. He could tell that his distance away from the crimson-haired woman was only a meter or two. With that, it wasn’t too hard for him to reach that distance. But knowing as well that the other party was extremely fast, he didn’t underestimate this fact. But well, it was not as if he didn’t have anything to counter it.
Seeing Sakim smiling, the two women suddenly turned serious. Although the level of the other party was too low, it didn’t change the fact that he was still the Vessel of the Greed sin. And with that as a fact, anything was possible. They might even put their life in danger if they got careless.
Silence then engulfed the surroundings as the two women prepared themselves for any possible attacks. But to their surprise, what happened next didn’t approach their mind. The surroundings under the watch of the king sun suddenly turned dark where they couldn’t see anything even a small flickered of light.
What happened? Was this a blind status effect? But that guy didn’t do anything other than to smile, so how? The two women found it hard to understand what had just happened. But before any of them could even think more about it, a scream of agony echoed in the pitch-black darkness. Accompanied by that scream was an incredible amount of Greed Energy that seemed to engulf the entire surroundings.
