Single Stat System - Chapter 98
Without knowing it, Sintia found her blood dripping down from her mouth. She tried her hardest to not cough out blood but the blood just wanted to come out as it still escaped from her tightly closed lips.
What the hell? How could they still escape from this? When did the vessel steal her master’s items? Trouble! This could only spell trouble! She really must hurry and run away as soon as possible. Because she knew well that a half-kilometer distance wouldn’t be enough to escape from Sakim’s grasp.
Swoosh!
However, when Sintia was about to make a move and leave with her master, a streak of light appeared and got on their way. Soon, a figure appeared giving them a huge headache. Who could it be other than Sakim?
But of course, it was not the sudden appearance of Sakim alone that gave them a headache. It was also because of the way he appeared. Using Angel’s Wings with that distance just to catch up to them? Was he aware of how precious that item was? How could he waste such an item so carelessly?
Yes, they knew that that Angel’s Wing the other party had used was probably not his but was stolen. And they didn’t care whether that item was stolen or not. However, it would be a different story if that item was stolen from them. And they could tell that that item was surely Julius’ Angel’s Wings! Just thinking how their precious item got wasted just like that could only make them depressed.
“Oh? So that’s how a real Angel’s Wings feels like…” Sakim spoke suddenly feeling a bit amazed.
At first, since he felt that it was possible, Sakim was just planning to steal the speed of sound so as to catch up to them. That said, since he was confident that it could happen, Sakim had instead checked the items he had stolen from Julius when they turned to flee. He was just delighted that he only needed a simple wave of his hand together with his intent and the stealing job would be done. The other party didn’t even notice that he had stolen all of his items.
In any case, when Sakim checked the items he had stolen, he immediately saw a familiar thing. That was, of course, Angel’s Wings.
Before, Izel copied this item using The Fooler just to trick him. Sakim still recalled that the function of this item was to transport someone anywhere in Greedland. To think that he would find the real thing here. He might as well try it out.
With that in mind, Sakim smiled as he gazed in the direction where Sintia and Julius had escaped into. After a moment, he muttered without taking off his smile, “Use Angel’s Wings, to Julius.”
Since he could steal all his items in his Inventory, Sakim could naturally steal the other party’s information. Only then did he learn the name of Julius.
In any case, after he used the item, Sakim was then surrounded by white light as he turned into a light and disappeared from where he was standing. After which, he appeared right in front of Julius as he made sure to smile so as to greet the other party.
But then, Sakim was just amazed when using Angel’s Wing. If he had a lot of them, then traveling to Wolf Village, or even anywhere in Greedland, wouldn’t be that difficult anymore. Sakim thought that he should really get this item as many as possible, even if it meant stealing from anyone.
Just thinking of stealing something from someone else could only make Sakim grin in excitement. And he even got more excited when his Blood Servant: Dragonfly that was still flying above, informed him about the many players rushing in his direction. No matter how he thought about it, it could only be a feast. Just how good was Bathala above to send him this many gifts? This was really so damn exciting! Greed Energy couldn’t help leaking out from him the more he thought about it. And this caused Julius and Sintia to shiver in fear.
But knowing that they might really die if they let their fear overwhelmed them, Sintia took a deep breath as she muttered, “Soothing Water.”
The green liquid spiraling her body then rotated slowly as some kind of energy enveloped her. It removed all her fear as she felt as calm as ever. Regrettably, she could only use this skill to herself. It would really be great if she could use this skill to her master as well but sadly, she wasn’t fated to do so.
“Oh, as I thought. You’re a hybrid spirit. A descendant of both Sylph and Nymph that I know. Sadly, your water ability was much weaker since I can see that you cannot use its healing and curing capability to anyone other than yourself.” Sakim spoke with a smile. He didn’t realize it but some of the memories of the Greed Sin (that just become one with him after he accepted him) had just blended with his memories. As if nothing was strange as he treated it as his own.
Unfortunately, Sakim wasn’t aware and he couldn’t tell that slowly, the Greed Sin was taking place in his body by invading his consciousness first. It was slowly corrupting his mind by giving him his deepest desires.
Sintia on the other hand gritted her teeth. Just mentioning her identity as a hybrid could only ignite her sadness and anger. Recalling how did the two races abandon her just because she was born like that, could only make her seeth in anger. If possible, she didn’t want to hear it anymore so as to not remember her painful past.
However, before she could even make a move against Sakim, or before Julius could even warn her to control her feelings and emotions, Sakim suddenly spoke again from the side with a wide grin.
“I’ve decided. I will make you my pet. I knew what fate someone like you will be. So don’t worry, If you accept me as your master, I promise that I will avenge you from those two races. How about it?”
Upon hearing it, Sintia’s heart skipped a beat. Excitement, restlessness, anxiety, agitation… She couldn’t even explain what she felt right now. On one hand, there was this feeling of wanting to accept the offer but on the other hand, she also felt of rejecting it.
Sintia didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know what to say. She became speechless and unmoving for a good while contemplating about it. Should she accept it? Or should she not? If she accepted the other party as her master, with his help, avenging her and her parents wouldn’t be an impossible dream anymore. But if she accepted him, then it would only mean betraying her current master… Just what should she follow? Her heart or her other heart? Both were important to her and choosing only one was really difficult to do…
Seeing Sintia acting that way, Julius smiled as he said warmly, “Don’t make it difficult for you. If this can at least save you and help you avenge yourself and your parents, just go and accept him as your master. So don’t worry about me, I’m fine. I will always be happy for you.”
“Master…” Sintia’s eyes became watery as tears couldn’t help dropping from her eyes. It only made her hard to accept the offer of the vessel hearing her master saying that.
So since her master was very important to her as well, and she didn’t want to lose him, Sintia stared at Sakim’s eyes with a determined look. She bowed deeply as she said, “I will accept you if you let my master live.”
Sintia knew that they wouldn’t be able to escape the Vessel of the Greed sin no matter how hard they try. Since that was the case, she was willing to sacrifice herself to at least save her master.
“Hehe, I like that eyes of yours,” Sakim spoke with a grin. However, a moment later, his tone of voice suddenly turned icy as he added while releasing his Greed Energy, “But do you think you’re in a position to put a condition on me? I can just steal you however I want. Do you really think that I need your consent to make you my pet?”
Both Sintia and Julius shivered. Cold sweats poured down from their face as they couldn’t even move now. Even breathing was already hard for them, so how could they still think of moving? Was this really the end for them?
But when they thought that it was all over, the suppressive Greed Energy they were feeling had subsided as Sakim spoke again, “But don’t worry little spirit, as a descendant of the Mulawin clan from the outside world, I have taken a liking to your master. So as long as he is willing to be my servant, I will naturally let him live.”
“You knew about my identity?” Julius turned to look at Sakim as he was taken aback by what he had just heard. How could the other party learn about it? He didn’t recall mentioning anything related to it.
But then, recalling that the other party was the Vessel of the Greed sin, stealing such information from him wouldn’t be that difficult. Julius could only swallow a mouthful of saliva thinking how unfair the world was.
