Skill-Creation System - Chapter 12
It has been 3 days since Alex’s parents left. He didn’t want to risk the old man seeing him sneak out, so he acted like a normal baby should. At night, he practiced materializing weapons by using his ‘Infinite Soul Convergence’. Alex had leveled up this skill to Level 8. He also leveled up his ‘Identify’ skill to level 7. Sometimes, when Old Man Han went to get something like groceries, Alex would sneak into his study and read as many books as possible. At first he didn’t know what the words meant as it kind of looked like ancient text to him. That’s why he had created a Baby-Tier SC called ‘Otherworldly Language Translator’ which had no Level and allowed him to talk the same language as the people he would be talking to.
Although the past few days didn’t allow him to increase his level, he had gathered a lot of information on the world and where he was. To increase his speed of taking in information, he had used his ‘Infinite Soul Convergence’ to separate his soul into 5 and made them take read as many books as possible. He had asked Celestine the price of Photographic Memory, but he was left with disappointment as he heard that it was only possible through a Sky-Tier SC.
Life was though for him. Every night, Yui would wake up and look at him. Then she would go hug him like he was some kind of damn teddy bear. The old man was even more annoying as he stared at him for a long period of time as he did the first day he came here.
‘Mom, Dad! Where are you? You guys have to save me’ Alex said in his mind the night before.
It was a new day and he heard from Old man Han that his parents were coming back in 2 days. He was happy to hear it, so he played with Yui. Shen Fei came a couple of times as his parents and Old Man Han were pretty close friends. He had activated his ‘Cuteness Overload’ skill when people came over to not disappoint his parents.
Night came rather quickly and the house quieted down. Just when he was about to go to sleep, he sensed something weird. Although the amount of presence the entity had was small, Alex could still sense it. He then used his ‘Infinite Soul Convergence’ to scan the entire house and found Old Man Han staring out a window. He was wondering what the guy was doing until he sensed the unknown entity right appearing right behind the Old Man.
‘Assassin!’ Alex yelled in his mind. When he saw the pair of daggers and the dangerous glint in the eyes of the unknown person, Alex immediately classified him as an assassin.
Just as he thought that Old Man Han was a goner, the supposed victim turned his body and released a massive amount of Aura. The aura was dragon-like. It sent shivers down Alex’s spine. Sweat dripped down his forehead.
When the Old Man turned around, a sword that was hanged on the was flew into his grasp and he bent down. The assassin’s daggers completely missed and tried to fix the situation by changing the direction of his daggers downwards. He was too late as the man he was trying to kill was not there. He then felt a shiver going down his back. He looked down and saw a sword already pierced his heart. His vision darkened.
Alex watched all of this while checking on Yui, making sure she doesn’t wake up. Alex then saw the old man take out a vial and pour it on the assassin’s body. The body turned to dust and The blood disintegrated as if nothing had happened. The Old Man then sat on his spot on the couch and started reading a book again as he always did the previous nights. Alex stayed up for the next couple of minutes, thinking about what just happened. Eventually, he chose to not think about it too much and fell asleep.
