Skill-Creation System - Chapter 29
Alex walked down the streets. The aroma of delicious food could be smelt as one walked pass the food stalls.
After following his map, Alex had finally arrived at the Blacksmithing Guild. Their building had a golden Hammer Logo. Anyone who passed by this building would immediately know it was the Blacksmithing Guild as they were famous across the lands. If anyone wanted to become a true Blacksmithing, they would have to test given by the Guild.
There were also the Formation Master Guild and the Alchemist Guild. These Guilds each had the power to destroy a medium-sized kingdom, so almost no one would have the guts to offend such a big power.
Alex walked in and smelt the scent of metal. He looked around and walked up to someone who worked there.
“Sir, May I please know where I take the test to become a Blacksmith?”
The blonde haired boy looked at Alex and pointed at a beautiful blue-hair female worker at a desk. People were coming to her and after filling out a form, she gave them a card showing their identity to give to the person in charge of the test. She gave them all a cold stare. With his enhanced perception, Alex could see that the people in line were shivering in fright.
Seeing this, Alex was confused but shrugged his shoulders not wanting to think about it. He walked to the back of the line and waited for his turn.
*Boom*
Everyone except Alex, who was calm as always, was startled by this sound. They turned their head to two men who were staring at each other intensely. The loud noises came from one of them flipping the table in anger.
“What are you talking about?! When forging a sword, {Flaming Earth Metal} is much a better material than a {Fire Elemental’s Core}!!”
“Stop trying to boast knowledge if you are clearly an ignorant fool! A {Fire Elemental’s Core} can grant the sword a powerful fire attribute! While the {Flaming Earth Metal} can only allow the sword to be more resistant to heat and flames!”
While the two of them were arguing with each other, they reminded Alex of his lack of knowledge on Metals.
He searched the building with his Soul Power and found the Guild’s library. He wrapped every book with his soul power and immediately read and absorbed all of the information. Although a couple thousand books were a lot, it was nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands within the city’s library.
“Next!”
The girl at the desk called out and Alex who was now in front of the queue walked up. The girl smiled seeing Alex because she had also been watching the commotion. She had looked at the reaction of the people in the queue and the only person who seemed to know the answer to the problem was Alex. She managed to tell this much as she saw his calm expression the whole time. As for everyone else, from the looks on their faces, she could tell that they were all eager to learn the answer to this problem.
“Hello Miss, how are you? I have come here today to take the Blacksmithing Exam.” Alex said politely as he smiled.
“I’m doing fine. Please fill out this form.” She said with a smile as she handed a piece of paper to him.
After 30 seconds, Alex came up once again and handed in his form. The blue haired girl looked at it and her eyes widened in astonishment as she saw his cultivation.
Qi Condensation Grade-9!!
She also saw his age. 10 years old!! What an amazing talent. She was a person who admired talent. She looked at Alex and licked her lips
(AN: This is not the same planet as Earth. A full day is 30 hours, a year is around 500 days. Not to mention, their bodies grow mature faster as the Qi has been there for ages meaning that their DNA is not the same as Human’s from Earth. So what I’m telling you is that he is about 17 Earth years old right now.
30Hours=1.25 Earth Days
1.25 Days ×500Days(a year)=625
625 Earth Days ×10 Centorih Years =6250 Days
6250 Earth Days=17.12329 Years
That should be about right.)
The blue haired girl then started speaking while giving Alex a card.
“Hello Mr.Alex, here is your Examination Card.”
She then took out another card and while smiling.
“If you ever need help, you can visit me at my place or send me a letter.”
Alex took the card which had this girl’s name on it and her address.
‘So her name is Anna, huh?’
He thanked her with a smile and a nod. After that, he walked over to the Examination Room.
While he waited, Anna came over and they talked. She said that she was on a break. The people who saw this looked at Alex with a look of envy. All of them only received cold glares from her.
How can this guy talk so casually to her?
What was so good about that guy?
“Next! Alex King”
The person testing Alex was apparently an enthusiastic person whenever forging was involved. His name was Drake. He would have been forging something right now but he took this task was because he owed the Guildmaster a favor.
Guildmaster’s were pretty high rank in the guild as they owned their own Guil Hall. Above GuildMasters were the Members of the Regional Blacksmithing Council. Above them was the Guild’s GrandMasters, who rarely made an appearance.
GrandMasters were respected all over the world. To become one, one needed to have a Nebula-Tier Cultivation and either Forge a Tier-5 Weapon or a Tier-5 Pill or a Tier-5 Formation, Basically make something that can do harm or help a Nebula-Tier Cultivator.
Alex stood up and walked up. Then he heard the instructions.
“Forge a longsword with either a {Flaming Earth Metal} or a {Fire Elemental’s Core}!”
Alex nodded and took two metals from the batch of materials. Drake looked at him with a confused look.
‘What’s this kid thinking? Didn’t I say one of them?’
Everyone else there also saw this particular action and started paying more attention. Especially the two men from before.
Alex was as calm as ever and he repeated what he did for Yui’s sword except he didn’t add magic and didn’t engrave a name on it. He wanted to make a sword that could be sold at the market.
He heated the metal and hammered it into the shape of a long sword. He then had to anneal it. He heated the sword them He closed his eyes and used the Elemental Magic to cool it evenly and slowly. After that, he created an edge and a point. Then he heated the long sword up again and immediately placed it into the quench tank allowing the sword to cool. He then heat the sword up until the edges were a wheat color and a plum color for the centerline of the sword to temper it. Right after that, he quenched it again and cleaned it with a coarse emory paper.
He held out two fingers and pulled out the fire essense out of the {Fire Elemental’s Core} and slid his finger on the sword. The fire essense spread ou to every corner of the sword. He then used the leftover {Flaming Earth Metal} to make a scabbard for the sword. As the metal was pretty heat resistant.
He also added the hilt and the guard.
He stood up and placed the sword in the scabbard. Alex looked at the Drake and placed the sword in front of him.
“I’m sorry I took so long. I’m Done”
Everyone felt like they just coughed a mouthful of blood.
‘Too Long? Too long my as*! It has just been an hour.’
The men who were fighting before wer flabbergasted. They had just seen Alex use both materials on one sword.
Anna’s eyes lit up. She knew Alex was a genius in Cultivation, who could have known that he was a genius in Blacksmithing. She has been around Blacksmiths her entire life, she immediately saw that the sword Alex forged was a Tier-4 Longsword.
Drake’s jaw dropped. Even he couldn’t make such a masterpiece. His highest Tier Weapon was a Tier-3 Weapon, but he immediately recognized the tier of the weapon. Tier-4! A weapon that could even kill a Star Realm Cultivator!
He coughed and passed a badge to Alex.
“You, Alex King, are now a Tier-4 Blacksmith.”
“Thank you.”
Alex still had the calm look on his face. He took the badge and walked out of the building with the sword he forged. He said goodbye to Anna and found a good restaurant to eat in. Walking towards it, he smiled and looked at the sky. Being Reborn in this world was truly a blessing for him.
