Skyward Over God - Chapter 18
“A Non-Elemental born with Infinity Roots!” The man’s hands were shaking as he approached Fei Lei, “I have to report this to the Guild Master!”
The elderly man ran out of the room and dashed towards the top of the building while shouting “Infinity Roots, Infinity Roots!”
Fei Lei looked over at Yan Mei to see her jaw completely open, “The flies will get in.”
“You! Do you know what you have!?” Yan Mei shouted.
“What!?” Fei leaned his head back as Yan Mei’s face got closer to his own, “There has only been one recorded instant were someone was born with Infinity Roots! The Mana King! The Strongest Mage ever to walk the face of the earth, he was said to be able to use all magic, and had a near limitless amount of Mana! He suddenly vanished from the world countless Eons ago, leaving only the legend of his prowess and the records of what an Infinity Root reaction is like when using a testing orb.”
Yan Mei was panting in front of his face, when Fei Lei said, “That’s cool!”
Yan Mei felt the wind knocked out of her, “Cool? Can’t you say something more than cool?”
“You look really cute when you’re angry,” Fei Lei said making Yan Mei shoot back, “Where did that come from!?” She said covering her reddened face.
Suddenly the elder came back into the room and said, “There he is Sir! This is the boy with the Infinity Roots!”
Fei Lei lifted is brow to see a tiny boy come walking over towards them, he was around 4’5 feet tall, his face was very childlike and cute, his long silver hair swayed around his ankles, clear green eyes shined like emeralds and small and pointed ears.
He was wearing a purple hooded robe with a green emblem that was in the shape of a lion, “So you’re Tetra’s new brat.”
A deep and discerning voice came of the childlike mouth, “Fei Lei is it?”
“Yes, and how did you know?” Fei Lei asked back.

“Your fellow student downstairs is the biggest give away for me, she hasn’t told anyone about your status as his pupil and that’s not something you should go spreading around, only a few know about his Disciples, and I’m one of them.” The little boy said.
“I’m sorry who are you?” Fei Lei asked.
The little boy smiled vanished, he reappeared on top of Fei Lei’s shoulder and said, “I’m an old drinking buddy of your teacher, names Weissman, the Guild Master of this city, and a Gnome that specializes in teleportation magic.”
“Weissman the Silver Assasin!?” Yan Mei shouted, seeing her Weissman jumped over and landed with his face between her breast, “I prefer the title, Weissman the Plantnium Lover.”
Yan Mei shrieked as Fei Lei pulled him off of her, she ran behind Fei Lei and wrapped her arms around him and pressed her breast against his back, squeezing as hard as she could.
Weissman landed on the ground and made a grumpy grunt, Fei Lei, on the other hand, was bright red and sweating a bit as she pushed her soft marshmallows against his back, “Yan Mei, I know he can’t teleport to your breasts, but this doesn’t exactly fix the problem.”
“I’d rather you touch them than him,” It took a few seconds for her to register what she had said, “I mean, I’m already used to you…no wait, I mean, I’m used to you giving me a piggy back!”
“Lucky bastard, treasure those gems well boy,” Weissman said as he walked over to the crystal stand and said, “Well now girly it’s your turn?”
“I have Fire God Roots. That’s all this test is about, so there!” Yan Mei’s muffled voiced shouted out from behind Fei Lei’s back.
“Fire God roots? You wouldn’t happen to be Yan Chi’s brat, now would you?” Weissman said placing his hand on his chin.
“Yes, and if you try to touch me again, I’ll get daddy to burn you!” Yan Mei shouted.
Weissman smiled and said, “Your pop is far too young to teach me any lesson of sorts.”
The Guild Master then walked towards the exit, and said, “Follow me!”

The two did, however, Yan Mei remained firmly attached to Fei Lei’s back, making their progress rather awkward. They continued on with this strange waddle until they all reach the roof, there was a large open area with a stone platform laying in the center floor.
A strange doll wearing full plate mail was standing straight up with a greatsword that was slightly pointed into the ground.
“The next part of the test we would normally use wooden dummies, but with your teacher, we have to be cautious of what you’re capable of,” Weissman said, pointing for Fei Lei to go on stage.
He was about to move when Yan Mei held on to him tightly, he turned his head and saw her looking up at him, there were tears in the corner of her eyes as she said, “Please don’t leave me!”
Fei Lei laughed and used his Telekineses to create a box around her, he patted her head and said, “It’s okay, I’ll keep him off.”
She felt a thin outline appear around her body as he walked up towards the dummy. Weissman tried to jump on her but was suddenly cut off by his telekineses, it was like he ran into a wall at full force.
“Oh, now this is something I haven’t seen in a long time,” Weissman said softly as he placed his hand on the surface of the telekinetic wall.
Fei Lei jumped up on stage, walked up to the puppet, and held his hand out ready to fight.
Weissman grinned as he shouted, “Time to wake up, Dolly!”
The eye slots of the armor lit up and the sword was drawn, Fei Lei suddenly jumped back as the moving armor swung its blade at him.
Fei Lei looked forward and saw the armor move so fast that it blurred, Fei Lei ran forward and leaned down slightly hunching his body over, his arms were placed firmly at his side as he charged at the armor’s legs
Using a Sambo takedown, he lifted the doll over his head and sent it flying, the armor flipped around and threw its sword at Fei Lei. Fei Lei stepped to the side of the blade and grabbed the hilt, when he suddenly felt his body jerk, and start to be thrown along with the sword’s trajectory.
As he flew back, Fei Lei stomped his feet hit the ground causing smoke rose to rise from the friction of him trying to stop, gritting his teeth, Fei Lei dug his feet deep the arena floor, shattering the stone as spun around before tossing the sword back with all of his might.

With just two of the armor’s fingers, it grabbed the sword by the tip of the blade, and as it landed, flipped the blade around and gripped the handle before charging at Fei Lei again.
Fei Lei didn’t back down, pulling out his own Great Sword and Bo Staff combo weapon, he began to exchange blows with the automated doll.
Sparks of light shot out from the contact of steel against steel, Fei Lei felt tremendous pressure as they began to speed up, every time the crossed blades he felt his arms shake, and his body crave for more of the combat, swinging his sword he lowered his center of gravity and swept his leg in a full circle.
His foot and sword slammed against the metallic surface of the doll and sent its body into the air, rotating horizontally it held it’s sword out in place, trying to use the momentum to cleave off Fei Lei’s leg.
Fei Lei pulled his leg back and placed his sword flat side up before he jumped towards the construct, crashing into the magical automaton’s chest plate, the armor flew back and twisted in the air, regaining its equilibrium. Before it landed, the armor braced for impact, opening one of its hands and placing it on the ground, the rest of its body slid slide back sending sparks of light flying out in a straight line until it came to a full stop.
It raised his head and stood back up in a fighting stance, making Fei Lei smile and say, “What the hell is this made out of?”
“Impressive!” Weissman said as he watched on, “Your fighting power is on the same level as a sorcerer, all be it the weakest kind, it is still impressive.”
Fei Lei didn’t pay any attention to Weissman’s words, instead, Fei Lei dashed towards the mechanical object and started to swing his sword.
The doll raised its own greatsword to defend itself, the sounds of their blades crashing signaled the continuation of their combat. The two once again began to exchange blows, the air cracked around their weapons as they rapidly started to pick up their pace.
As their swings continued to pick up speed, the only thing that could be seen was their arms turning into a series of blurring images, and the sparks of their blades connecting.
Fei Lei sent a small dose of adrenaline to his brain before he struck down with all of his might, the doll rose its sword to meet the attack, the swords connected sending a scream of metal clashing against metal, the force from his blow abruptly caused the ground to crack around the two combatants.
The magical doll tried to block using a great deal of strength to resist, when Fei Lei suddenly let out a powerful roar, forcing the object to its knees.
Fei Lei continued to put pressure on the doll when he raised his foot and kicked the construct’s helmet off.

Fei Lei watched as the pile of armor fell over, and he returned to the group.
“I win right?” Fei Lei asked standing back in front of Yan Mei.
Weissman snapped his fingers teleporting the helmet back onto the doll’s head and said, “Yes, you win, based on the strength your capable of, even though you’re starting off as a D rank Guild Member, you can accept up to C ranked missions,” Weissman turned to Yan Mei and smiled before continuing, “You’re up, little missy!”
Yan Mei walked over to the field and Fei Lei kept an eye on Weissman so he didn’t make a move on her. As she stepped up to the arena floor, Yan Mei pulled out her bow before she began to create dozens of flaming arrows that floated around her bow with a single wave of her hand.
The doll reacted to her and charged at her with its sword, suddenly the floor lit up and revealed a level 1 spell, ‘Blazing Pillar Trap’
The magic circle glowed causing a pillar of fire to erupt in front of the dolls face, it dodged back but the arrows shooting out curved around the creatures back and shot it forward into the flames.
Yan Mei suddenly cast a level 1 fire spell ‘Roaring Explosion’ when a loin’s face formed from the fires and charged at a flying sword that was tossed at her.
The two attacks met and caused a massive explosion, the sword went flipping into the air where the mechanical doll jumped out of the flames and retrieved it, as it pointed its weapon towards Yan Mei the doll fell towards her covered in flames.
Yan Mei jumped out of the way while tapping her feet and using a level 1 spell Scorching Step, suddenly a blaze of fiery energy erupted from the soles of her leather boots, as they turned into some kind of jets skates, she hovered above the ground and raced away from the attack with great speeds, leaving only a trail of fire in her wake.
The doll crashed into the ground sword first then pulled up a chunk of the stone floor and tossed it towards Yan Mei’s body.
Yan Mei shot a few arrows into it destroying the projectile chunk of stone and sending the rest of the arrows through the debris towards her target, the doll countered by swinging its blade and deflecting the arrows away.
Yan Mei waved her hands and created a massive circle of flame, pointing her arrow at the center of the floating ring, she shouted, “Flaming Spear!” The arrow shot through the level 1 spell and was transformed into a giant spear-like shape that tore up the ground beneath them.
The puppet raised its arms and charged towards the attack, swinging with all of it’s might, a powerful gust of wind was gathered at the tip of the blade, the flaming spear bent ever so slightly to the side, however, Yan Mei had dashed over in a flash and aimed 10 point blank flaming arrows all at its head.
The Doll tired to react, only managing to slightly raise its sword before the ten arrows pierce through the targets helmet and sent it flying onto the ground.
