Skyward Over God - Chapter 21
After waiting a bit longer all the contestants had arrived, they were all called up to a large platform that had many large circles painted into them, everyone was given a box to draw lots that were designated numbers that were written inside the ring.
After drawing a number they were sent over to a large row of stands that had a wooden doll sitting on a pillar, it was around the size of a toy, had a wooden texture, and looked humanoid in shape, underneath their feet was a number painted over the surface that matched the ones in the rings.
They were told to put their Mana in the doll and when they did a copy of them appeared inside the rings. It took a few minutes for the hundred plus people that had passed the exam to take up their positions, the rings were filled up ten contestants at a time, luckily Fei Lei’s group of 3 were all in different sections.
Fei Lei looked around and felt his body, everything felt real like real flesh and blood, Fei Lei then looked over to see his real body sitting still in the stands. Fei Lei threw a few punches and frowned, the strange magical item transferred his Mana capacity, and he could use spells with ease, but it didn’t carry over his physique power that his unique body granted.
Fei Lei undid the connection and returned to his body, he turned to one of the announcers and said, “Hey can I use my real body?”
The announcer looked at him in shock, and then to the overseers of the event. A group of people sitting in a expensive looking luxury box, one of the men inside gave the okay, making Fei Lei happy.
He jumped down and ran over to his position with a grin on his face, may people gave him strange looks, and laughed at him, the Sheng brothers clicked their teeth and hoped that he would meet his end.
“Stupid Adept’s gonna die.”
“Just because the bodies are fake doesn’t mean the attacks are fake.”
“This is gonna be a fun show to watch.”
Fei Lei ignored them as he looked around his tournament ring, the rest of the spaces had been filled and all of them were between Magi’s and Erudites, only Hina, and Sheng Tai were Sorcerers.

The announcer stood before everyone and said, “Everyone must fight until there is only one remaining, after only one remains the rings will fuse until ten new contestants must fight again. Only when 10 rings remain those surviving will be considered a slot holder.
The match quickly got started as the announcer said, “Begin!”
Fei Lei disappeared like a blur and started to take out opponents left and right, powerful blades of wind and bullets made out of water shot at him as he moved throughout the contestants and used them as shields. The crowd was thrown into chaos as they saw Fei Lei dispatch Erudites with a single swing of his hands. The ten Mages that he slaughtered had their dolls cracked and began shouting at the tops of their lungs with foul language.
An explosion went off over in Yan Mei’s direction, all of the contestants decided to group up against her, turning out to be one of the biggest mistakes their ever made. The moment they charged her she activated her Scorching Step Spell, and burnt them to a crisp with a few dozen flaming arrows.
The people unlucky enough to get put in the same ring with the two Sorcerers Hina and Sheng Tai simply forfeited, Sheng Lu created a sphere of water over his opponent’s mouths and drowned them.
The Elemental Equip user actually had something that looked similar to a gun, it looked like a four shot oversized revolver, and he wield a large curved greatsword that had protrusion lined along the spine of the sword, every time he swung a burst of fire would speed up his swing and create a trail of fire and gore in his wake.
Every time someone shot magic at him, his pistol exploded with an elemental magic bolt of his choosing, he used the trigger to rotate the barrel into a different element and continued to counter the elements with their weaknesses.
The boy with dual roots simply tagged his opponents with his sigil and snapped his fingers causing a massive explosion, as the smoke cleared only he remained.
This continued on until there were only 10 people remaining, Fei Lei noticed that the second and third matches were fairly simple, none of the strongest people met, so he figured that it had something to do with the group of people organizing this whole event.
The final 10 people were Fei Lei, Yan Mei, Hina, The Four Element’s Root Mage, Eriks, The Dual Element user, Hachi, Sheng Lu, Sheng Tai, a man who chose to enter under the pseudonym Grey Mage, a girl from the Holy Light Sect, and another girl from the Great Gale School.
Everyone was most surprised about Fei Lei passing, looks of scorn and murderous intent came from the Sheng brothers shot over at him as he the center of attention.

Fei Lei then heard Sheng Tai shout, “I challenge Fei Lei for his slot!”
The crowd gasped, when Fei Lei leaned out and asked, “Wait! Can he do that?”
The announcer said, “Yes, but only once, and if he loses then he will have to forfeit his slot to you, and you can choose any one to take his place, even sell it.”
Fei Lei grinned as he held out his hand and the other behind his back and said, “Well hurry up and use that idol to summon your avatar. After all, you don’t want to die!”
Sheng Tai frowned and said, “You bumpkin! This is a personal challenge, it has to be fought in person!”
Fei Lei then smiled, “I then I guess you’ll be dying today. We can kill? Right?” Fei Lei turned to the announcer who nodded his head, “If he agrees to a death match then yes.”
Fei Lei turned back to see an embarrassed Sheng Tai fuming, he pointed his finger at Fei Lei and shouted, “I’m not going to kill you, I’m going to cut off your feet and turn you into a slave, I’ll bring you back home and give you to mother.”
Fei Lei laughed as he stood forward, “I’ve been dying to try out my first original spell, and I can tell you’re going to be a fun subject to test it on.”
“You’re going to regret turning this into a death match!” Sheng Tai said cracking his knuckles with his grip.
The two stood in the center ring and faced off against one another, as soon as the match began Fei Lei dashed forward and pulled out his earthy treasure, Clear Mist and Sheng Tai did the same, he pulled out a large thorn whip and cut his own hand.
As the treasure fed on his blood the whip seemed to come to life, suddenly the blood from his wound covered his body and turned into a steel metallic-like matter.

Fei Lei was then assaulted by the large vine whip wild movements, as it got closer to him it grew in size and split off into branches.
Fei Lei swung his sword and used his Telekinesis to create a razor-sharp edge as he cut through them with ease, everyone gasped at how fast and flexible Fei Lei was, he dodged every new whip lash that came for him, making small advances towards Sheng Tai. Small sonic booms echoed throughout the ring as the thorn whip grew more violent.
Everyone was shocked at the battle, they couldn’t believe an Adept Non-Elementalist was capable of such a thing, they even began to attribute his power to the weapon he was holding, saying that it was probably some high ranking treasure.
Fei Lei was half way through the tangled weave of the thorn whip, when all of the sudden, Sheng Tai charged at Fei Lei. A loud clanking noise was heard as his metallic blood armor ran across the surface of the stone like surface of the arena. As he reached Fei Lei he swung his fist back and punched out with all his might.
Fei Lei released his adrenaline and swung Clear Mist and created a massive gust of wind as the two felt their attacks connect, Fei Lei then used his Telekinetic hand to squeeze Sheng Tai’s leg, he tried to move him when the whip circled around his telekinetic hands and crushed them.
Sheng Tai was taken aback by the invisible force that attacked him when Fei Lei appeared in front of him with boiling red skin, a thorn vine that was wrapped around his waist suddenly shot out at Fei Lei’s head.
Fei Lei swung his sword outward away from his body deflecting the whip, when it suddenly branched out and dashed towards his face, Sheng Tai though he had Fei Lei by the ropes, when Fei Lei suddenly twisted his torso and let out a single fierce upper-cut, hitting Sheng Tai directly on the center of his gut.
Sheng Tai’s body flew a few feet off the ground before his thorns wrapped him up and he started to use them as transportation regaining his distance from Fei Lei. The blood on his armor started to crack and fall to the ground.
The crowd looked in on the match in shock to the highest level, they were just saying that he was relying on the power of his weapon, but it was the fist that did the damage.
“Damn you! How do you know that spell?!” Sheng Tai shouted as if he was losing his sanity, he started chanting some words as the whips all started to shoot blast of water that shot through the stone surface of the arena.
The entire dynamic of the battle changed, Fei Lei began using his Telekinesis to doge water jets it mid-air, while still avoiding the sting of the whips deadly thorns.

Fei Lei chased after Sheng Tai by hopping on to the foot holds he made in the air, the vines chased after him as he led them around the arena and tied them up as he swung out with his blade, this time it suddenly erupted into flames, Fei Lei began vibrating the molecules around the blade of the sword he swung down and sent out a wave, like a cascading effect the closer to the flame the air was, the easier it was to speed up.
Fei Lei’s Telekinesis was in full effect, thanks to the sword he didn’t suffer any headaches or nose bleeds, he used the heat from the strike to make it easier to make more flames, the battle ground was suddenly covered in fire, every one of the spectators dropped their jaw.
Sheng Tai let out a shout of anger as he created a massive bubble of water in the sky and exploded it causing it to rain, Fei Lei’s fire’s started to fade, as the rain revealed the shape of his invisible sword.
“Wait isn’t he a Non-Elementalist, how did he use fire?”
“Something’s not right, did he fool the test somehow?”
Many of the people in the crowd began murmuring.
Sheng Tai frown as well, unable to figure it out he decided to chalk it up the weapon being responsible. “I’ll admit that your weapon is impressive, but choosing fire against a water user is rather dumb!”
Fei Lei started to laugh as the sword suddenly changed into an ice blade, suddenly the temperature started to drop, Fei Lei increased the flow of his blood to resist the cold, and raised his hand as frost tree formed from the blade.
Everyone in the crowd was shocked again, “Two elements? Does he have dual roots as well?!”
“It has to be the weapon, there’s no other explanation as to how a Non-Elementalist can use two elements!”
A like a sudden flash freeze the whip suddenly locked up, Fei Lei swung Clear Mist and shattered the thorn whip, completely destroying an Earthly treasure.
Sheng Tai roared in anger as he felt the connection between him and his magic treasure shatter, he turned to Fei Lei and suddenly shouted some words in an ancient language as his sigil appeared, he then push his finger into his heart and shouted, “Level 4 Spell Blood Golem!”
