Skyward Over God - Chapter 3
While Fei Lei healed he observed with close scrutiny “Stop trying to breathe with your lungs, breath with your entire body, every pore, and cell in your body can absorb the air, and circulate it in the pattern I showed you.” He slapped Fei Lei on the back of his head with a piece of straw that he somehow made feel like stone, “Don’t waste any energy, thinking about other things, clear your mind and focus.”
“Your breathing is too slow, faster by 30 nano-seconds,” Tetra shouted as he slapped his head again, “You breathing needs to be more natural, stop thinking about it.” Another slap to the back of his head echoed throughout the room, these methods continued and were drilled into his body over the next six years.
The day was scorching and the dry air left most slaves with heat stroke or worse. A 10-year-old Fei Lei could be seen clearing a field full of boulders with his grouping of slaves, Fei Lei had grown well, he was covered in scars, but his physique had grown strong, his entire body was ripped for a child, and looked like a professional athlete. They continued the work to clear out a site so their owners could begin construction a massive scale, no one knew what they were building, and no slave would dare to have mind enough to ask. The heat only got worse as Fei Lei ran towards his master. “Teacher!” He called out respectfully.
The old man had tanned something fierce but he unlike others not a single drop of sweat had tainted his body, “What is it, Fei Lei?” Tetra said as he slammed his pic-axe into the stone bolder in front of him shattering it.
“Aluna can move things with her mind!” Aluna was a slave girl with sky blue hair and sapphire colored eyes, she was part of the group of friends Fei Lei had managed to make. “She held her hand out towards one of the boulders and lifted it with ease.” A shocked look crossed Tetra’s face, he grabbed Fei Lei’s hands and with worry.
“Where is Aluna now?” He cried out.
“Over by the Slavers Hut, why? What’s wrong?” Tetra ran off in the direction Fei Lei pointed out, and the boy followed not too far behind. When they arrived at the facility the scene that was displayed before them, shook the two to their cores.

Two of his friends lay slain riddled full of holes, Aluna was beaten to a pulp the slaver holding her by the hair was talking to what looked to be a man that radiating an evil aura.
The man was part of the magic society and looked to be a high ranking member, he had shaggy shoulder-length black hair, his eyes were crimson red and held a monstrous aura within them, he was wearing a custom dark blue overcoat and held a gun-like object holstered at his hip.
He reached out to grab Aluna when Fei Lei lost it. Unable to contain his rage he lunged at the guard and clutched the back of his head and kneed him square in the jaw as hard as he could.
Teeth and blood sprayed from the man’s mouth as he fell to the ground. Aluna fell over unconscious Fei Lei couldn’t hear Tetra yelling at him to stop his assault when he rolled over to the next guard and swept him off of his feet with a graceful, almost dance-like kick, then his body slightly came off the ground and went straight into an immediate horizontal spinning elbow to the slaver’s chest the very moment his back hit the ground.
Fei Lei jumped up from his prone back effortlessly, but before he could start his dash towards the next guard the dark mage pulled out a small magically enhanced pistol and shot at the enraged child.
Tetra leaped between them and tried to stop the bullet, it was no good the magic shot ripped through Tetra’s upper torso and nailed Fei Lei in the head. Aluna awoke moments earlier and screamed the moment the round hit the touched his flesh. A psychic flow of energy shook the grounds and for a split moment, everything in a hundred mile radius was weightless.
As Aluna collapsed a massive shockwave tore through the region sending thousands of slaves and slavers alike flying through the air, the only ones in the center of this great turbulence were Evil Mage, Aluna, Fei Lei, and his Teacher.

Tetra had managed to dig most of his forearm down into the ground, all the while keeping hold Fei Lei’s body with his other. “HAHAHAHHA” The dark guild member began to laugh menacingly “Amazing; just amazing, to think such power came from such an innocent little girl. What a monster!”
Tetra began to bite the bottom part of his lip just hard enough to bleed when he heard the sound of his pupil roaring “SHE’S NOT A MONSTER! SHE’S MY PRECIOUS FRIEND!”
Fei Lei jumped out from Tetra’s grasp and tried to jump kick the dark guild member in the side of his face, the malefic man grinned at the boy’s pitiful attempt to attack and easily deflected him with a single swat of his arm, sending the poor boy rolling through the dirt.
“You should be dead that was a magic missile it never misses its mark.” The Evil Mage said with a smile on his face. Fei Lei pulled himself up from the ground blood ran down his face, the hole in his forehead was deep but it didn’t get through his skull.
Fei Lei ripped part of his sleeve and tied it around his head, his fierce young eye’s glared down the vile man before him “She saved my life, COULD A MONSTER CARE ABOUT A FRIEND EVEN WHEN HER OWN LIFE WAS ENDANGERED, YOU JACKASS?!”
Fei Lei felt his master pat his head before saying “Alright that’s enough out of you I’ll take it from here. I thought you were dead you twerp.” Fei Lei turned around to see his Teacher as a different man, his jaw dropped in awe at the drastic change that had occurred.
It was as if twenty years of his aging had faded away, the wound tunneling through his chest healed almost instantly. White steam started to form over the wounds on his body, “To think she destroyed the magic canceler from all the way over here that must have been some shock wave, almost killed me too, but thanks to her I got my second wind.”

The dark guild member looked at the girl, then at the boy and his Teacher. Such an impossible turn of events stood in-front the man who came here for such a simple task. Just how much more was going to get in his way “It doesn’t matter you all be dead anyway.”
“Before you kill us can I ask you the name of the one who will slay me.” Tetra mocked.
“Ucifer If you must know!” he raised his gun and pointed it at the boy again expecting Tetra to jump in front of the bullet’s path, but he didn’t, Tetra had moved so fast that Ucifer couldn’t follow, the pistol in his hand had been shattered by a single thrust of his palm thrust.
Without hesitation Tetra attempted to continue his attack by elbowing the Mage at the bottom of his jaw, however, Ucifer managed to dodge it by a hair’s breadth.
“This is surprising how is a mortal without any Mana able to move so quickly?” Tetra didn’t lose focus as he immediately followed up with a fierce palm to the stomach; but that to was no use as well, as Ucifer had leapt into the air. Massive bat-like wing sprouted from his back as he took flight. “I would love to stay and kill you but I don’t fight battles when victory is uncertain, there have too many inconceivable variables to account for, so before any more reoccur I’ll be taking my leave.” The tips of Ucifer’s index and middle fingers began to glow, a blue hue of pearlescent colors trailed following his hand as he carved a pentagram into the air.
As Ucifer drew the final glyph into the pentagram he whispered “Demons Door!” A demonic looking crystalline archway covered in the image of Demons eating each other appeared floating in place, Fei Lei couldn’t even begin to grasp the situation when Tetra roared out “Stop if you risk taking her through that miasma you know what will happen to her? She’s human not a Demon like you.”
The Demon Ucifer looked at the two of them and made a wily grin showing his razor sharp teeth. “This too could be considered to be an unexpected turn of events” Moment’s when he was moments away from flying through the Demon’s door he felt a tug on the girl’s body, The demon looked back to see Fei Lei with his arm stretched out as if he were reaching for Aluna. Something was changing inside his body, his magic was altering a section of his brain, mutating it, he didn’t know where this knowledge came from, but like it felt like his instinct’s were guiding him, Fei Lei’s Spell Sigle glowed as it altered his brain unlocking his own psionic powers.

“Stubborn child” Ucifer raise his hand and pointed his finger at Fei Lei, “Give her back!” The boy yelled as blood began to run down his nose and ears. The pull on her body grew stronger, when all of the sudden, a bolt of energy shot towards the boy “Fei Lei dodge it! I can’t deflect that!” Tetra wailed, Fei Lei jumped back and lost control over his grip. Before he could lock on the door had disappeared along with Ucifer, and Aluna.
“Nooo!” Fei Lei cried out as he smashed his fist against the earth Tetra ran to his side to stop him “It’s not your fault Fei Lei…”
“Isn’t it though? Fei Lei interrupted “I was too weak again.” A spurt of blood came from his skull as Fei Lei’s eyes ran to the back of his head and collapsed face forward into the dirt.
Fei Lei slept for months this time, The memories were much more fluid and direct, started at the beginning of the orphaned baby, he grew up estranged and curious of everything, he was a scientist through and through.
When he was nine years old when he graduated from a prestigious university, Isaac mastered every course they offered, with nothing left to learn from schools, he began to search the world to gather any and every bit of information he could get his hands on. Nothing was too outlandish for him to research, he poured his life into understanding every piece of information that passed his eyes.
By the time he was twenty one no other human on the planet could be considered intelligent to him anymore. It was like comparing man’s intellect to a monkey’s.
Vast amounts of subjects from science and pseudo sciences filled Fei Lei with wonder, It turns out the monks and martial artists of earth speculations were correct, although Mana, Ather is almost nonexistent in his old realm, the martial arts and meditation methods developed allowed them to access, all be it in a weaker form, a similar type of energy. The estranged scientist spent many years studying the benefits martial arts had to the body, and thanks to that Fei Lei had a compendium of Earth’s cultivation techniques. He quickly became curious to see what the effects of such techniques had in this world.
When he finally awoke, he saw that his master had been watching over him. “Teacher!” Tetra looked back at the boy in shock as he held on to him and said, “I’m so glad you’re okay!” Fei Lei tried to stand up, but his legs gave out, as he started to fall his teacher reached out to grab him, but Fei Lei straightened his back catching himself. “I’m okay! I need to get stronger and I can’t do that by sitting on my ass.”
