‘So, everything has requirements these days?’
‘Uh, let it be.’
Soon, I started feeling a bit dizzy and ignoring the rampage that was going around I found a pit and coiled myself in the most comfortable position I could. While thinking god knows what things I finally lost myself to sleep.
By the time I woke up, everything had quietened down. Looking around I saw a few hundred snakes coiled around me as the center. They were all almost half my size and lost them selves to sleep.
‘I believe they are intelligent enough to know that I am not their mother. Must be tired from all that carnage, and why coiling around me?’
‘Should I eat them up? Nah… It’s alright.’
I made my way through them as I felt thirsty, and was looking for water. To look it up better, I slithered up to what seemed like a hill and looked around.
‘This place looks like a cave, there must be water somewhere. I hope mother was here.”
I moved around for a while and finding nothing I resigned myself to fate and decided to get used to my new body.
‘It seems pretty stronger than previous species, but there isn’t much difference in looks.’
I tried to form all shorts of shapes using my body, trying the ‘S’ spring positions in different styles.
A little later, after being bored by stupid behaviours to get used to my body, I looked at the other little ones. It wasn’t like I wasn’t used to loneliness or was hyper active, but something feels different.
‘I don’t know but my thought processing has changed a bit. I don’t feel comfortable all alone like this.’
Ending the misery of silence, I heard the rustling of the soil in the silent environment. Putting myself on high alert I looked towards the rustling sound. It was none other than ‘Mother’.
She seemed exhausted and pretty slow compared to her previous movements.
“Hello, Child. Ssseemss like you’re out of your firssst sssleep?”
“Yes, mother.”
“Now, come to me. It’sss time for you guysss to leave. You’ve grown up enough to be able to thrive in the world. I’ll send the others just after you.”
“What do you mean we’ve grown…?”
“Just check you statussss child, you’ve been ssssleeping for a while now.”
Noticing the strangeness in her tone, I called ‘status’.

“What I in the world? I’ve been sleeping for 10 days straight?”
“Yesss, child. Don’t worry, it’sss pretty low compared to the othersss, they’ll sssleep at leassst for 10 more daysss.”
“Yeah, okay. But, where were you mother, all this while.”
“Oh, nothing. Just to get sssomething and bassshing a few guysss, who were looking for a beating.”
“I guess, because of me.. I mean us?”
“Don’t think about it child. You ssshould leave this place now, and survive to become powerful like you elder brothers.”
“Yes, mother. I have the relevant information and I believe I can do good if not better than those guys.”
“But, before you leave child, can you help me do sssomething, when you’re out there? The ssstrength you have right now isss not worth talking, but your potential to grow hasss sssurpassssed any child I ever had.”
“Sure, mother. What do you want me to do?”
“Kill the Overseer of 1st the first floor if you can, if you have enough strength. I know it’s too much to ask, but you’re the only child that has even a little bit of chance to do it.”
Kill the Overseer of the 1st floor.

‘This naggy quest…’
“That guy? Mother…”
“I know it is tough, child. If you don’t have enough strength … just let it be.”
“Mother, I’ll try my best to do it for you.”
“That’ss my child. Don’t ever be afraid to fight othersss, but also beware of being surrrounded and trapped. And here take it, I won’t let you go for sssomething with that much risssk without, giving you anything, right?”
A glowing, golden pin like thing, floated out of thin air as she said that.
“This is?”
“A gift from a mother, who cannot bear anymore children. Don’t ask anything else. I’ll attatch it to your heart.”
It floated with a speed I neither could dodge nor could see clearly, and drove itslef straight into my body. My conciousness, started fading and lost within seconds.
I couldn’t feel anything anymore, but I could hear mother speaking in a mournful voice.
“Oh, Sssae. I wish he wasss here, to sssee your talentsss. I bet he would have had bragged about it all over the first floor. Why did you have to go?”
“Hope for revenge is all I have left. I don’t know, if Ssae can do it but if he can’t then I guess no one can. 100 thousand years head start, how will Ssae even compete?”
“I hope you do well my child. Let me send you a…”
The mourning voice stopped and I had turned completely blank.
