Slithering My Way To Heavens - Chapter 9 A Thought To Remember
After about an hour, while I was lost in absorbing the gemstones and only had one gem left, I got a notification.

for visiting.
“Uh, level increased?”
“It happened quite fast didn’t it, even with the resources, I should reach mortal limit, before chaos cultivation could upgrade.”
“Status?”

“WHAT THE HELL?!”
“It just increased by 200?”
“Is it because of that chaos efficiency thing?”
“And the chaos body is at 50… too far away. I guess.”
“What about Innate then?”
‘Innate’
[(Legendary)(passive)- Devours 0.1% of all status of the killed target.
{Upgradable- Kill 1000 low beings(intelligence higher than 1) 102/1000 }
(Chaos)- Allows Cultivation with any matter or energy with 1% chaos efficiency.]
“That’s it?”
“Is the leveling that useless? Just giving 1% efficiency which in turn helps in increasing the Chaos cultivation?”
“These resources gave me 99.9 % chaos efficiency and the level up just gives 1%?”
‘Anyways, since it’s done, let it be.’
“You go off now.”
I absorbed the last one.

‘I wish it gives me some good stats. Status?’

‘The fuck? That thing gives 1000 stats?’
Just as I was about to curse out loud, I heard the frog coming out of the hut.
“Hey, kid here’s a cultivation technqiue I got for you use this to get all the resources …Fuck!? Why can’t I feel any energy fragments out here?”
He rushed towards the boxes and opening their lids he looked over.
“Kid… Did someone or something come here?”
“Uh, no?”
“Then, where did those shiny things in the boxes go?”
“Uh, those gems? I absorbed them, didn’t you say so?”
“I was supposed to give a cultivation technique for you to absorb them. But, it seems like you already have them? And, that’s not the important part. How did you finish it in such a small time?”
“Actually, that’s what my secret is.”
“Oh, then let it be. By the way you, do you know those resources were enough for anyone to reach earth grade …right?”
“No, I don’t. What’s earth grade?”
“It’s a cultivation stage. The most powerful beings except the overseer on the first floor are heaven grade, below them are earth grade ones, below them are Iron grade and finally at the bottom are mortal grade ones like you.”
“What grade are you?”
“You don’t need to know. Just like I didn’t ask about your secret, you shouldn’t be asking mine, should you?”
“Yes, I shouldn’t. May I ask one more thing, senior?”
“It seems like earthgrade isn’t a small deal and, since those resources were enough for a person to go to earth grade. Why did not make a commotion about it? Why is it that you know that I have secret, but you don’t try to snatch it from me.”
The frog stayed silent for a while and didn’t say anything. A few moments later, it spoke.
“Don’t think too much kid. I have bigger secrets. And, did you reach the mortal limit at least?”
“No, I didn’t.”
“Yeah, I felt that much. Okay, get used to your newfound strength, whatever it is. I’ll try to get more of them.”
He said that in a sad tone and hovered towards the hut.
I kept looking at his back and murmured. “Why?”
He didn’t say anything, just went on with it, as if hiding something or conveying that ‘You’ll know someday’.
I just kept looking towards the hut, with one-third of my torso off the ground. I found it too weird, the way this guy was behaving with me. I mean like why would someone feed someone with their resources to someone else. It just like those parents from earth who fed their children, even if they themselves straved to death, but some of parents sold their children to slavery just to earn money too.
‘Is the frog treating me like its child or does it have some motive to bring me up? If it’s the latter, I can do it for the good things he presented me. But, what should I do if it’s the former?’
‘Okay, we will see what happens. Everything will be clear with time, but if it’s the former I won’t let him regret this.’
This thought of mine is what changed the fate of First floor in the future. Just this one thought had the strength to prevent a disaster that might be unleashed.
“Okay, since the method says I can cultivate with with any matter or energy, it should work with the trees.”
As I said this, I looked at the trees with my greedy eyes.
“I’ll fucking surprise that damned frog.”
Meanwhile the frog was in a dark room inside the ‘hut’, sitting alone.
“So, I finally see you inside him. My Lord.”</intelligence-10000(mortal></intelligence-10000(mortal>
