- Chapter 24:It Was All A Lie
????⁉️
“So, are the Immortal Snakes finally here?”
“I believe so but I’m not sure if they’ve manifested a physical form.”
“They shouldn’t have, right? That would make it harder for us.”
“Of course. I’ve been doing my best to keep it under our control, to make sure they come back but don’t gain their full powers yet.”
“Hm, you know someone else is helping her right? Someone we didn’t consider.”
“Yes. We’ve gotten rid of all the other obstacles I don’t think this one will be hard to overcome.”
“Are you sure about that?”
“What do I have to fear? Regardless, we must make our move now.”
“Really? I thought we were going to continue to drag this out. Is my fun coming to an end?”
“Shut up beast. Just do as you’re told to.”
“Speaking to me like that? How rude.”
“How am I rude? That’s exactly what you are.”
“Hmph, you’re not my boss, I don’t have to listen to you.”
“I’m not the one who you should be scared of.”
“I don’t fear the Gods. They will be the ones that fear me.”
“Are you done?”
“But rest assured I’ll do my part. I’ll do it well.”
He doesn’t look convinced.
⁉️????❌
Juno has had many low points in her life. But this by far is the lowest, most terrifying and humiliating. If she could cry, she would cry. If she could scream, she would scream until her voice gave out.
Juno can’t move.
She’s paralyzed.
She’s scared.
She thought the closest to death she’d ever get was that time she almost drowned when she was young.
How foolish of a thought.
How naive.
Although she can’t move most of her body, she somehow finds the strength to move her head.
Juno’s staring at death right in the face.
Except, this face is the most familiar to her.
Nurse Pures doesn’t look any different, he doesn’t look like a monster, he doesn’t look evil.
He just looks the same as always.
He looks tired.
He’s always been tired. Since their first meeting almost a year ago he’s always seemed beyond exhausted. Juno just thought, ‘he’s a school nurse, of course he must be tired!’ But he was always kind and patient with her, no matter how tired, no matter how ridiculous she sounded.
It was all a lie?
//He gained my trust. Just to kill me?//
She can’t do much of anything, she can’t move most of her body but despite her fears, she glares at him.
//Put me down! I’m so scared. Please, don’t kill me…//
He’s not affected at all. He’s looking straight ahead and not paying attention to the dead weight in his arms.
As if she’s nothing.
//Noodles? Help! Help me! Can you please, please help me? Medusa, are you there? HELP ME! SOMEONE PLEASE!?//
He doesn’t answer her.
No one is answering her pleas.
No one can save her?
How long has it been? She can’t tell, it seems as if time has slowed down completely.
//Where is he taking me? Why hasn’t he killed me yet? WHAT DOES HE WANT!?//
He stops moving and stands in front of one of the large windows.
//IS HE GOING GO THROW ME OUT THE WINDOW?//
They’re on the third floor! This is how he plans on killing her?!
He smiles, “Sorry about all of this Juno but it’s going to be fine. Soon everything will be over.”
//And I thought Eve’s smile was creepy? Wait. Eve!? Where is she!??//
But before he could do anything else, a loud and horrible screech was heard from behind. She wishes she could move to cover her ears because it’s just /that loud./
Time seems to finally catch up as he turns around with Juno still in his arms.
“Oh, come on. Not you again.”
What happens next is unexpected.
He throws Juno to the side and faces the attack head on!
But the force was too great.
The massive bat, coming from seemingly nowhere, flies directly into him!
Causing them both to crash out of the window!
