Sol Vestitor: New Age of God - Chapter 171
Sol conjured a shell around him with the sun ice ability. The laser attacks hit the protective shell with such a concentration that it turned red and about to be pierced.
“Laser weapon? Isn’t that basically concentrated heat?” Sol thought as he changed his approach, rather than hardening the ice shell he directed his power to absorb the concentrated laser.
To his surprise, they were easily absorbed by the sun ice ability. The melting shell soon grew bigger and bigger until it exceeded its initial size.
“There is no sign of divinity in their attack, it’s a pure technology, it doesn’t have any resistance toward my divinity,” Sol realized, no matter how powerful their attack, as long as they don’t have any divinity then his ability could absorb them all.
“What?! Our attack can’t destroy his shell?” The demigods were shocked by his ability.
“Stop firing your laser, he is absorbing our attack, use your exosuit instead!” one of them instructed.
They activated their suit and charged at him. The armored suit punched the ice shell with such a strength that it cracked.
“hmm… their power is strong enough to damage Major Demi-titan, but their speed is not that fast,” Sol analyzed.
He created an opening behind him and escaped the shell and conjured Ice chains to immobilize the demigods but the chains were shattered easily by their powerful suit.
He hurried back to put some distance with the group of brutes so they would not surround him. He conjured two dozen creatures to attack the group while at it.
The creatures were not big, but they were faster than the group of demigods, Sol conjured an ice armor for each of them and enhanced their speed with the knife aura so they would stand a chance against the group of demigods.
Both sides clashed and to his surprise, his creature could not damage the demigod’s exosuit, it was so hard that it was resilient toward physical damage.
On the other hand, their mechanical arm could easily crush the creatures’ ice armor, with each clash the creatures turn more and more bloody.
Sol did not wait for them to be killed though, he healed them before the damage could immobilize them.
“Captain, let’s use that. This is the right time to test out that thing!” Said one of the demigods who were busy fighting the seemingly undying creature.
“Alright, Let’s do that! Launch the A.R.G.U.S!” the supposed captain said as he quickly disengaged from his enemy.
Hearing the captain’s word, the other demigod moved back, Sol became wary when he heard their word. He was expecting something big to happen.
He could sense them using their power. For the first time since the fight started, the group used their divinity to do something other than becoming a battery for their suit.
The earth rumbled and hundreds of thousands of metal pieces were raised from the ground; they moved toward each other and formed what looked like a human body.
Soon a hundred metal soldiers formed in front of the creatures, each of them were four-meter tall and they were armed with all kinds of weapons.
The robot’s eyes glow blue and they attack the group of creatures, laser weapon, missiles, and projectiles rained at the group of creatures that even Sol was having a hard time keeping them alive.
Each one of them has the firepower of a minor demigod. If the demigods were an example, then their defenses should be as good as a major Demi-titan.
All in all, Sol was faced with something that could rival the Hydra he met in the underworld, “Fuck! With that much power, this group of robots could kill a major demigod!” Sol cursed.
The only saving grace was they were too slow to be compared to a major Demi-Titan so he could dodge all their attacks with his enhanced speed.
The same thing could not be said with his conjured creature, they were massacred by their power.
“Fuck! Should I use the hydra?” he cursed as he just got back to the mortal realm and he was already in a pinch.
“No! They are machines, I can overpower them! Individually they are just a very hardy minor demigod!” he told himself.
Sol conjured ice mist all around him. It soon covers the entire area. Even so, the robots still could detect his position. He needed to keep moving so their attack would not bombard him.
“Let see how long you can run? The A.R.G.U.S is the newest weapon we developed, it can even beat a major Demigod! What can a minor demigod do against them?” the demigods jeered at him.
Sol did not bother with them and continued to conjure as much ice fog as possible. He concentrated the fog around the robots and the demigods.
He did not activate the fog yet since he wanted to catch them by surprise, it would be bad if they notice his plan.
After ten minutes, the Demigods were about to join the fight too since they grew tired of waiting for the robots to hit him.
Sol could not dodge all their attacks, but his recovery was too fast to be beaten by one or two attacks every minute.
It was then that Sol finally started his counterattack, the ice fog had gotten into the machines’ internal, he could sense their every detail.
With a single thought the fog absorbed heat from all the machines, they lost energy and frost appeared on their metallic frame.
Within a few seconds, the machines stopped working because of the frost and energy loss. Even the demigod’s exosuit was frozen in place.
They could only look in horror as Sol conjured hundreds of icicles around them, the icicles were pointed at them from all directions.
“What are you doing?! Let us go! Don’t you know that this city is under the pantheon of Deus?! If you let us go now you might escape the divine punishment!” one demigod screamed at him.
“Shut Up! Can’t you guys just stay silent and listen to others’ explanations?! I’m not here to attack any city!” Sol chastised them.
“Then why did you break the barrier? If you mean no harm, you should have entered from the front door through the proper procedure,” one brave guy asked.
Sol could only laugh awkwardly as he knew it was his fault, “Hahaha, yeah, I did not know about the front door, I thought I could enter from anywhere I like.”
They stayed silent but he could sense their doubt so he explained once more, “I have been away from any city for months and this is the first time I see a barrier, I’m sorry to intrude on your city but I need to visit a temple.”
“If you mean no harm, then please let us go, We won’t attack you,” the supposed captain said to him.
“Fine, but if you go back on your word, then don’t blame me if I become ruthless,” He warned them.
The group nodded as they could sense that Sol was not bluffing. He really has the means to beat them all once more.
Sol had used the most peaceful way to end their misunderstanding. He could actually kill all of them with the help of Nai as it could surely damage the demigods with all the aura it had accumulated.
Once the man was released from their frozen armor, they greeted him, “Welcome, The city of Deus, you are welcome to our city as long as you mean no harm to us,” the leader of the group shook his hand.
“I’m only here for a bit, I would like to visit the temples and use your teleportation gate afterward,” Sol said.
“Teleportation gate? Is such a thing real? We are still trying to make one, but the Technology is still beyond us,” The man asked him
“Huh? Can you just ask your God to help you make one?” Sol became confused as well.
“Deus doesn’t help us with technology, He helped us to innovate, but it’s up to us on how to achieve them!” one of them suddenly cut in, he could like a fanatic.
“Deus? This is the first time I heard about him. Can you tell me more about him?” Sol asked the man.
He was quite disappointed that there was no teleportation gate in the city, but if he could talk with Minerva, then he might be able to ask for another way home.
The man looked at him as if he asked the most stupid thing, “You don’t know Deus? Deus Ex Machina, the God of machines! He is the first human to be a Major God since the upheaval!”
“WHAT?!?! There is someone who has become a Major God? What about the other? How long had it been since the upheaval?” Sol asked in shock.
His question perplexed the man, but the man still answered anyway, “most people are still under minor demigod and the one who had become a minor demigod already considered a powerhouse, but exceptions always exist! There have been three known people that become God since the upheaval. As for how long, it’s been two and half a year maybe,” the man answered.
