Sol Vestitor: New Age of God - Chapter 175
Sol was really troubled by Nai, It had become too cold-blooded; it was not like he was not cold-blooded. After his trip to the underworld, he finally realized that killing creatures and humans is not that different.
But seeing the few months-old knife spirits killing people while feeling happy about it was too much even for him.
“I don’t feel anything when I kill hostile people, but I don’t feel happiness from it. On the other hand, it seems to be happy about it,” he lamented as he kept walking while the knife followed behind him.
“Was it because it always sees blood since its birth? Or is it its nature as a weapon? Either way, it’s better to stop using it for killing humans from now on. It would not be good if it went into a rampage and killed humans one day,” he thought as he continued his journey.
His destination was the city Minerva had told him about, it should have the teleportation gate to send him home.
“I need to hurry, Nerva and the other are in danger. I hope Nerodia can hold on until I return,” he thought.
From what he was told by the Goddess, it seemed the new god’s faction’s God had the domain of prophecy.
The domain was one of Apollo’s domains. After the sun god’s death, the domain got destroyed to pieces.
Sol did not know how the new god piece together the domain so perfectly until he could become a minor god, but he knew the man was his enemy.
According to Minerva, the god of prophecy also went into hiding like Deus, but he had given his people a task, that is to kill the child of a goddess and a human.
After a long search, they finally found out about Minerva’s deal with Sol, they went after the young child.
According to the prophecy, the girl would become the reason for the new gods’ downfall and the key of the current god to win the war even without fighting their own war.
“This is unreasonable, Why do they need to target an innocent girl just because of a prophecy! I need to stop them no matter what!” he thought.
“Sol, there is a big fight up ahead,” Nai warned him as she sensed many people fighting.
“I know, We are almost at our destination. They are supposed to be in a war against the new god’s faction. I think they are still fighting against each other.”
“Are we joining the war? We can help the city win!” It said coldly, but he could sense her excitement.
“Fuck! It is thirsty for blood, I thought it only liked to eat but it suddenly has such a strange hobby!” Sol cursed as his headache grew.
“We will wait and see. If the city is winning, then we don’t need to do anything, we can just wait for them to win and enter the city afterward,” he told it.
“then what if they’re losing? The sooner we help them, the higher the chance of winning!” it tried to persuade him.
“We will only help if they are losing, I won’t repeat myself if you don’t listen to me then there is no food for you today,” he threatens the knife.
It finally kept quiet once its dinner was on the line, “It is better when it doesn’t talk and just stay silent,” he lamented.
They went to the top of a nearby hill so they could see the war proceeding. From their position, they could see an army of ten thousand men besieging the city.
The city was covered in a barrier made of conjuring ability; it was regenerating all the damage dealt with it, but the army did not stop their attack.
The defender could only block the attack as they could not counter-attack yet, if they tried to counter then they would be buried under enemy attack.
From what he could observe, the attacking side had more minor demigods, but the defending side was not losing yet. They could keep up with the enemy.
“If this goes on, then the attacking side would not have a chance but to back off, they will need to rest after some time,” he analyzed.
“They are not losing, we just need for the attacking side to back off so we can sneak into the city,” he mumbled.
“The situation is changing! The attacking side is killing their own people!” Nai exclaimed, which attracted his attention.
“What? Did they lose their mind? Did the defender send intruders into the attacking side’s camp? But that is impossible! There are too many people killing their friends for just a few intruders and sending that much intruder is impossible!” his mind went into overdrive.
He knew it was not a good sign, they must have a purpose, “what they want? Are they waking it? but there is too much blood for it to be fake!”
Sol was having a hard time making sense of things that were happening in the attacker camp, not only he but the defenders also got confused.
They thought there was a coup in the enemy camp, but they did not miss the chance and started to counterattack.
The minor demigod went after the attacker while they were busy killing each other, but to their surprise, the number of minor demigods in the enemy camp suddenly increased.
The lesser demigod that was killing each other suddenly became a minor demigod, the attacking side was overwhelmed two to one.
“Nai, we are helping, don’t bother about the lesser demigod, just kill the minor demigod from the new god faction!” he instructed as he slid down the snowy hill.
He started to conjure creatures and knife aura, suddenly he was running with an army of his own, the lesser demigod who saw him tried to stop him but they just got swatted away by the creature he conjured.
“Enemy attack! There is a group of creatures charging from behind us!” the attacker was startled by the sudden appearance of the creatures.
“look! They are being led by a man!” one of them pointed out.
“What? There is no intel that the city has a reinforcement! The God of prophecy said we will win after the sacrificial ritual!” they become panicked.
“Don’t fear him, he might be an unknown factor, but the fact that we have more minor demigods stay the same, what can a single man do?” the leaders tried to reassure their man.
The creature crashed to the army while Sol passed through them; he did not have time to take care of the weakling, he just conjured his ice fog and covered wherever he passed through with frost.
The defender’s demigods were about to be killed by their opponent when he conjured a large blade of knife aura to attack their enemy.
But unlike the incompetent demigods the depended on their tech, these demigods actually dodge his attack.
They could not see it, but they knew it was coming. They duck down before the blade could touch their neck.
“The underling of the god of prophecy? They can see the future?” he questioned himself.
He tried a few more times but each of the invisible blades was dodged, the new god’s faction was able to see his attack coming.
Suddenly, they turned back and conjured a barrier as a white-skinned and white-haired girl appeared behind them.
Nai had snuck up on them and conjured hundreds of invisible blades, but they could block it with their combined strength.
“Their ability is a cheat! Even though individually they are weak, their combined strength is enough to defend against all kinds of attacks!” Sol complained.
“I guess I can only do that!” He channeled his healing dome ability and his body started to grow bigger. Soon he reached three meters tall, and he stopped growing.
His body was covered in sun ice armor and on both of his hands was a giant sword, the knife aura covered both of them.
His physical strength had reached a minor Demi-titan. Normally he would use the limit break to reach such power, but he used his other ability so he could still activate this conjuring ability.
“My body can only take this much power, If I don’t want to suffer like before then this is my limit,” he thought.
Sol could actually increase his strength even more by going into limit break mode, but he did not know what would happen if he combined both the giant mode and the limit break mode.
“The purple lightning might disrupt the giant mode, if the regeneration went out of control then I might die in agony.” He thought to himself.
“You can see the future, right? But what is the use of seeing the future if you are too weak to change them?” He asked the group of demigods.
They about to reply when they hurriedly try to dodge to the side, only for one of them to be cut in half Sol. He had appeared behind them before they could react.
